Frank and Junko were very generous and kind. We initially only planned on staying for 2 weeks, and ended up staying at their property for just over a month. They allowed us to use tools to build our 4x4 camping vehicle, and were helpful with information for us to get our feet on the ground here in Australia. They are both very friendly and easy going. When we found jobs they were flexible with the expected work hours of helping them on their property. We really enjoyed staying with them and they have a beautiful property that I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for a workaway experience. Thank you both very much Frank and Junko!

Mark and Marie Antoinette hosted me for 12 days, and they were incredibly welcoming and kind throughout my entire stay. They truly did their best to make us feel at home. Even when the work became a bit physically demanding, they always made sure we took breaks and had something warm to drink. The work itself was extremely enjoyable. Mark and Marie Antoinette worked alongside us Workawayers most of the time, so it felt more like a team effort than actual work. They taught us how to use different tools and instruments, and even when I was using tools I had never handled before, I always felt safe and well guided and the tasks varied enough that I never got bored. Beyond the work, lunchtime was always pleasant. They are both outgoing and interesting people, and Marie Antoinette’s cooking is delicious. This was my first Workaway experience, and I couldn’t have been happier with it. It allowed me to connect with nature in a deeper way. As a city girl, I’m not used to many aspects of this kind of life, but this experience helped me appreciate moments of tranquility much more. I’m usually the kind of person who always wants to talk and do activities, but after this experience, I’veunderstood the beauty sitting in front of the fireplace for an hour without saying a word, simply because it feels right. I will definitely miss Mark and Marie Antoinette and their lovely animals.

I spent 2 weeks with Lucy, Jacob, Leo, Theo,Valentin and the animals at their farm this January. Their land is a paradise! They have a loot of animals, so if you want to have a real farming experience, this is the place to go!:) The daily tasks involved feeding the animals, taking care of the baby lambs (i came there right for the lambing season, so there were a lot of newborns, almost every day:) ), taking Valentin for a walk, spending time with children, weeding, planting... There were no fixed working hours, so every day the schedule was a bit different. Lucy was open to discuss what work would feel the best for me for the next day and we always made a plan one day ahead. She cared that everybody felt good during the stay:) We ate lunches together, she is an amazing cook:), and food directly from the farm was delicious!:) It was fun to try some things i've never done before, including milking the sheep, eating sheep yoghurt (the best yoghurt i've ever tried!:)), feeding the ostriches and earmarking the baby lambs. The wooden cabin was super cosy, equipped with everything i needed to feel comfortable during my stay. Thank you for everything!✨

We are very happy to write this feedback for Lillyme from Germany. She is well educated and speaks both English and German fluently, which made communication very easy from the beginning. Before arriving in Sri Lanka, she prepared herself very well and learned all the necessary things, which showed her responsibility and seriousness. Lillyme is very enthusiastic about Sri Lankan culture and traditions and showed genuine interest in learning and respecting our way of life. She is extremely active and helped Kusum in the kitchen every evening without being asked. She is a good listener, follows advice carefully, and is always respectful, humble, and polite. Even our neighbours appreciated her behaviour and praised her positive attitude. She helped us in many ways and quickly became part of our family — not like a guest, but like our own daughter. Within just one week, she made a very strong and positive impression on everyone around her. We highly recommend Lillyme to anyone who loves to be with a smiling, positive-thinking, and helpful person. Any host will be lucky to have her.

Katrina is one of the best volunteers I recently hosted from Portugal. She is very hardworking, neat, and organized. She helped us with many things, and we wish her the very best of luck in her future travels.

Thank you very much to Rosa, Pau and Rosa for hosting me for 2 weeks in January. It was a really great experience, and a good example of what Workaway can be at its best :) Rosa and Pau have been welcoming workawayers for many years, so they know how to make you feel at ease and are very clear about specifying what tasks they expect you to help with. I also really appreciated them making the effort to speak to me in Spanish, as they knew I was keen to practice. We had some interesting discussions and I learnt a lot from all of them. The village is in a beautiful setting, and I was able to do some hikes in my free time, as well as joining the family for a day trip to a more mountainous part of the Pre-Pyrenees (a stunning place which I would never have visited if I was simply on my own as a tourist). I also really enjoyed participating in Rosa’s English lessons and seeing how she adapts her classes to different ages, ability levels and personalities. Thank you again!

Here I am! I stayed with Mona and Ron for two months and it was my first Workaway experience! They were always incredibly kind and available for any question or doubt. Ron and Mona are amazing cooks!! For my birthday, Ron made me a carbonara😍 (how could I ever forget that, haha). I even picked up a few recipes from them ;) and also I improved my english skills! I mainly took care of the bedrooms, the kitchen, and doing the laundry. The dogs are so sweet, and going for walks with them surrounded by nature was the best part. I really hope I can come back to Galway and say hello to everyone! Thank you again for this opportunity and a big kiss 💗💗

I spent 2,5 months at Ana’s place last summer together with my 9 years old daughter. It was my first Workaway and I could have not chosen a better place. Ana opens her home to the volunteers and makes you feel like home. Although being very busy most of the time, she tried to make sure that even my little daughter was fine. Plus she is an excellent cook. My job in the garden was various from weeding, cutting old tree branches to picking oranges from the ground, and Francisco was always a kind and patient boss. I also cooked sometimes and helped to clean a small guest house that the family runs. After work I enjoyed the long lunches and often deep talks outside. In my free time I loved sitting on the beautiful terrace enjoying the healing ocean view and sounds. On weekends we liked to visit the beach in Villa Franca which is about 25 minutes walk, or make trips around the island. Both me and my daughter also loved all the animals, especially the cutest little dog Margarida. We left the Azores with feelings of love and gratitude, and I can nothing but reccommend Ana’s place to other Workawayers.

Rong est restée 2 chez moi, bien qu'un réservée elle a su se mettre dans le rythme de la ferme. Elle a participé a tous les travaux et s'est adapté aux rencontres des personnes de la region. Super séjour !

Les 2 semaines passées avec Anneruth ont été vraiment sympa ! Anneruth est très débrouillarde et apprend très vite: c'était confortable pour moi car elle était autonome et prenait des initiatives. Elle s'est parfaitement adapté au rythme de vie de la ferme et sa sociabilité lui a permit d'être en lien rapidement avec mes amis et les gens du coin. Super séjour, je recommande Anneruth !

Friedrich and Irina welcomed us into their home and treated us like part of the family. Their beautiful girls were so friendly and it was always fun being around the whole family. We loved hearing stories of their time spent in Australia and looking at photos and videos. They treated us more like friends then people there to work. Harley helped making room for their new car and I helped organise and clean their kitchen. It is a perfect spot being so close to beautiful parks and a quick train ride to Berlin. Our door will always be open for them back in Australia and we hope to stay in touch!

Merci à Yousri pour toute l'aide apportée pendant ces 15 jours : taillage de haies , broyage , bêchage , ramassage de feuilles , stockage de bois , nettoyage en tout genre , etc .. Autant de tâches plutôt physiques qui ne lui étaient pas familières , et pour lesquelles il s'est exécuté avec enthousiasme et détermination. Au delà de l'aspect travail , nous avons surtout découvert un homme avec une grande ouverture d'esprit , au travers de riches discutions où nous avons abordé avec sincérité tous les sujets de société, comme on le fait avec des amis de longue date. Un régal !! Notre porte restera toujours ouverte pour Yousri , cette fois pas en tant que workaway , mais en tant qu'invité VIP . Merci Yousri . Bonne continuation .

So thankful to have met Jan and Jenske. They came and after a day transported me to the airport, looked after the house, doggies and hen for the three weeks that I enjoyed a big, family get together over Christmas in the UK. They were fantastic house sitters. Very trustworthy and caring of house, doggies and hen. We had a couple of enjoyable days when I returned before they continued their journeying. I totally recommend them as house-sitters or workawayers to any future hosts and hope that they will return at some date in the future.

Benedetta stayed with us for a few days and was absolutely amazing. She supported us with research and online work and brought such positive energy. We wish her nothing but the best on her future travels and would welcome her back with open arms anytime.

It was our pleasure to host Syriac and Serena. Their idea of a 6 month travel after getting married is a good one, there is nothing better than to increase our perspective by leaving the normalised nest boxes. Syriac and Serena are a quiet and respectful couple. Not in need of being entertained and full of thankful spirit. In winter the weather dictates the outdoor work l. Then what better than to build huge fires to burn the old log house timber after demolition. Syriac and Serena are a big strong fit couple and this was useful for this work and they really know how to build a big fire. We thank you for all the goodness you brought with you and wish you both a bon voyage on lifes roads!

I am fortunate to have met Aurore and Zeb on my first walkaway. I worked two hours a day for two weeks, was given a cozy room with a view of nature when I woke up, and I made the meals myself. They were very welcoming to me. They prepared traditional French food for me, danced in a dance class together, watched a movie together, and took me to the scenic spot on the weekends. I painted their house and had a peaceful time with another family there, the donkey Piloul, the rabbit Biboune, and the baby cat Mojo. I was worried because I was not good at English, but we talked deeply. If you speak English and French well, you will be able to talk more. I recommend living with them. I wish Aurore and Zeb good health and happiness.

I was delighted to host Lidy, who arrived with her travelling friend Philippe. Lidy was a kind, enthusiastic and hardworking workawayer. She fitted in beautifully into the life and tasks and we enjoyed each others' conversations. I have no hesitation in recommending Lidy to any future workaway hosts as she is an asset to any household. I do hope she decides to return in the future.
