I had a really wonderful time at Ashlesha's and her family's farm. Her family is really sweet and you'll get to eat a lot of home made goan food. I felt like family during my stay! The work was quite easy going during the period I was there, mostly helping out with watering and a little bit of other things. It is great place to be in Mandrem, fairly close to the beach and away from the tourist strip. Ashlesha will help you out with any questions about places to see in Goa and other parts of India. Ashlesha is big animal lover and there are many rescue dogs and cats. Thank you Ashlesha for everything, and please also pass my thanks to your mum and dad, for such a beautiful time in Mandrem. I miss you guys! I hopewe'll meet again at some point!

It was my first workaway experience and I stayed there from Mar. 9 to 20th. Always being kind, generous, and tolerant, Mika-san and Muko-san are great hosts!! Although we couldn't go to many places because of my short stay, we played UNO, enjoyed their amazing meals, and talked a lot every day. They have a lot of interesting experiences and are open about them, so it was fun talking with them. I really appreciate their warm hospitality; they even bought cake and strawberries when workawayers were leaving! I felt as if I were a real member of the family. It was such a sweet and wonderful moment!! As for the dogs, they are not only cute, but very well educatedーI'd never seen such good dogs! So, it was not hard to take care of them. It was the perfect first workaway experience!! Thank you so much, and see you again Mika-san and Muko-san<3

I loved my workaway experience here. I stayed two months but it felt like two weeks and I would have loved to stay longer. The location is gorgeous and the work is well-explained and enjoyable. It's nice to have a clear schedule at the beginning of each week. I met wonderful people, including other volunteers and guests and had plenty of time to explore around the lake and the local community. I highly recommend this experience. Thanks Sofia and Riley!

Staying with Mayu, Masaki and their two children was an unforgettable experience. Although it was only a week, I was welcomed into their family immediately, and it felt like I was visiting old friends. Mayu and Masaki are a wonderfully curious, warm and generous couple. I also had the privilege of getting to know Masaki's parents, who are both exceptionally creative and talented. In our week, our conversations covered a variety of topics: from language exchange to Scottish history; education and cooking; to social and political attitudes in our respective cultures. I was also very fortunate to learn more about kagura (神楽), how to make shimenawa (しめ縄) decorations; and participated in a community karaoke session too! During my stay, I became involved in their daily routine and supported with housework (washing dishes, tidying and cleaning, and laundry etc) and provided light support with their holiday home business. I watched over and played with the children, who are both inquisitive, funny and wonderfully sweet - even in my time off, I found that I wanted to spend more time with them (despite the short stay, it was as though I gained two nephews)! I look back on my stay in December with Mayu and Masaki very fondly. I feel immense gratitude to have been able to connect with this fantastic family, and really commend them as outstanding hosts. More importantly however, I am honoured to call them friends, and look forward to seeing them in the near future as we continue to stay in touch -- またね~ 💕

We had a very good experience hosting Franzi. She is always willing to help, with a smile on her face, in every kind of task—whether it was planting tomatoes. Her positive energy was truly appreciated, and you can clearly see her experience in working with and supporting others. Franzi is a calm and organized person, even in different or challenging situations. We also really enjoyed having interesting conversations with her on a wide variety of topics. Throughout her stay, she was very responsible. She consistently showed a great attitude, took initiative, and was ready to help with any task. Sensible and reliable, she is someone with a good head on her shoulders. She also created some beautiful videos and photos for us, and we would definitely recommend her from a professional point of view. Franzi even left us a lovely letter as a keepsake, which was a very thoughtful gesture. We truly hope she comes back to visit us one day—maybe with her motorbike! We wish her all the best in her work and in everything she chooses to do in life. It was a wonderful experience having her with us.

My experience with Giulia and Simone has been extremely valuable and beneficial. I appreciate and am very grateful for the effort you made to make me feel comfortable at your home and in Val Di Fiemme. As a workawayer, you can enjoy a lot of time with little Tian out in the beautiful nature that surrounds Tesero. You will be well taken care of and all of the fundamental things that you may require during your day are provided for. The most important thing is being practical while also having positivity and patience! Therefore, I would happily recommend this opportunity to anyone, particularly those who are enthusiastic about young children :)

We spent two weeks working on the farm, building earthen houses. The construction experience is great—you learn a lot, all in a very positive and friendly atmosphere. The host, PJ, is incredibly kind and always smiling, just like the rest of the family, who are very welcoming and caring. Please note: only one meal per day is provided through Workaway. However, during our two weeks, we never ate the same thing twice, and everything was always delicious. There are also very good and affordable restaurants very close to the hostel. An experience we will never forget! Thank you 🌵

Quentin is the type of person you definitely want in your life. He has such positive energy that it readily spreads to others, brightening everyones day. It was incredible to see him come out of his shell at my little farm, and become a more confident and comfortable version of himself, pushing his limits and stepping outside his comfort zone on a regular basis. He was always willing to try something new and he always worked extremely hard, but what I appreciated most about his work ethics was how open he was to constructive feedback, demonstrating his eagerness to always improve. Quentin was highly liked by everyone at the farm, to the point that he has become somewhat of a legend of all my WorkAways :D He is such a genuine and authentic person so it's not a surprise he made some strong connections with people here, which I'm sure will last a lifetime.

I was surprised how quickly Vanessa and I clicked, as it usually takes me a few days to warm up to new people, but as soon as we got back home from the airport, she clicked instantly with everyone at my farm. She is a very genuine person which I highly appreciate but furthermore, she's extremely trustworthy, hardworking and quick to learn. In fact, she was so quick to learn, that I felt very comfortable giving her more responsibility than I usually give my WorkAways early on; teaching and leading others, organising both various spaces and admin stuff for the business, and so much more. Besides being a very well rounded and qualified volunteer, she has, more importantly, made connections here that I'm sure will last a lifetime, including with myself. The only negative I could think of, is her not being able to stay longer due to a short-stay visa :(

We had a nice stay there but first we planned on staying for 6 weeks, we left after 1. The environment is amazing, the people in the village are very friendly. The stay is more off-grid than we expected so it felt a bit uncomfortable at first. We were staying in a room that was seperated by only a curtain and the other couple could walk through our room. The food was sometimes questionable whether we should cook it or they will prepare it for us but the ingridients were provided. The main problem we faced was communication. This was our first volunteering experience as a couple and it almost made us quit volunteering completely. The communication just felt off. We thought we did everything good, we were even praised at the beginning but after a week we were told that we are not independent enough and we ask too much. This was quite out of the blue too us since if there was any problem they should have let us know before but instead they just told us that usually in this case they ask the volunteers to leave. On the other hand they offered us to stay but move to the jungle (even more off-grid) which we did not really want so we left. It left a bit of a bad aftertaste. All in all we liked it there but the communication should be more clear so no one feels dissapointed at the end.

I stayed with Tom and Katie and their two daughters for three months in early 2025. I enjoyed my stay immensely. The quantity of work expected was very reasonable, and I had plenty of spare time to play music, chat in the living room, and make friends in Galway. I spent most of my working time helping with their large garden/woodland. Tasks involved chopping wood, clearing brush, stacking wood, building a footbridge, organising a shed, and helping weed their vegetable plots. Tom and Katie are both very kind and interested people, and I became close to them over the course of my stay. Their two girls are also lovely and friendly, and fantastic violinists. Tom and Katie have both had varied and rich lives, which made for many engaged conversations. It is in large part thanks to their warmth and hospitality that I have chosen to stay in Galway and begin to build a life here. I remain in touch with the family, and I continue to visit them every couple of months to catch up.

Working with Joan was amazing, I found in him a great workaway host for sure but also a friend. I spent almost 2 months in Lou bissac meeting there wonderful people and working hard to bring new life in a little corner of this wonderful valley. In Saint Martin the Boubaux you will find all kind of people and you will enjoy their company because Joan is loved and well introduced in the community. The setting there is beautiful, you can go for hikes or visit the surroundings by bike, Joan knows really well the region and can suggest you many beautiful places to visit, he's also an experienced cyclist and can give you many tips on this too. The work with Joan can be hard and demanding but he is always keen to help you and to find good arrangements that work for everybody, the accommodation is good and you'll have whatever you need. Thank you Joan for the great time I had there and see you very soon! <3

It was great to host Ronja and Findus They are very kind and respectful helping hands for garden kitchen and other small works. We stayed 5 weeks in Hanoi (nearly 6 because it was hard to leave!) - and we loved it! The family is very welcoming, generous and sociable. We particularly spent time with Cherry who is an endearing, playful, curious and mindful child. Our main role involved encouraging English play and conversations. Through this experience, we gained valuable insights (and learned plenty of children’s songs along the way!), and had the opportunity to express our creativity while enjoying ourselves. Thanks to the host, we've had the chance to spend meaningful time with other Vietnamese families, gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and savor many traditional dishes. During our free time, we also enjoyed exploring this vibrant city and discovering its various facets. We feel deeply grateful for this volunteering experience. Xin cảm ơn!
