    Description

We are a family of four from northern Germany and live in beautiful Schleswig-Holstein – almost exactly halfway between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. Both seas are about an hour’s train ride away, so you can explore the coastlines wonderfully from here.

Our two children (aged 7 and 4) are curious, lively, and always happy to meet new people.
We also share our home with several animals: chickens, a dog, a cat, and our ponies – so there is always something going on here.

About five years ago, we bought a house that’s over 100 years old, which we’re renovating step by step with a lot of love. We have a large garden around the house, which we’re designing to be as natural and biodiverse as possible – bees and birds are very much welcome here. We also have a small vegetable garden, which is currently being redesigned, including a cosy seating area for relaxing.

As there is always something to do here, we welcome help in various areas: in the garden, chopping wood for the winter, with renovation work, or looking after our animals, especially the horses. As we both work, we are usually out of the house in the mornings – so it’s important that you can work independently and organise yourself well on your own.

We warmly welcome individuals, friends, couples or even families!

If you fancy a taste of country life, animals, nature and a warm, friendly atmosphere, we look forward to meeting you.

We live in the north of Germany, close to nature. Jan is a history and German teacher, and Anna works in a construction company.

We’re happy to support you in learning German and to give you insight into everyday life here. During the week, we are often busy in the mornings with work, school, and kindergarten, and we also have various appointments. This means we may not always have a lot of time for hosting.

If you’re comfortable being independent and enjoy spending time on your own, we think you could still have a great stay with us.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a traditional guest room, but a cosy caravan awaits you on our property. It features either two separate beds (which can be separated by a partition) or a bed with a seating area. If needed, we’re happy to put up an awning to create extra space. You’re, of course, welcome to use our bathroom and the kitchen in the house.
