Pablo is absolutely an amazing person. I really had the time of my Life there and it was probably the best first experience I could have had in WorkAway ! He made me discover the beautiful mountains next to his house (the views are amazing) and there was no pressure in the work side of it (mostly gardening and Cleaning for my experience). Pablo as an host was one of the nicest person I ever met and he instantly made confortable. He was very open and we had such good conversations. I would have loved to stay longer. Mucha gracias Amigo !

I would like to sincerely thank Malcolm and Alfie for this wonderful Workaway experience. It was truly incredible, and a big part of that is thanks to them. They always made sure that I was not only completing my tasks, but also genuinely enjoying my time there and making the most of the whole experience. They are incredibly kind, friendly, and thoughtful people, and they made me feel comfortable and welcome from day one. I absolutely recommend staying with Malcolm and Alfie — not only because the location makes it easy to explore New York, but also because spending time with them is such a positive and enriching experience. I also had the chance to meet Malcolm’s sons, Haldan and Quinn, who are very polite and kind, and it was lovely getting to know them as well. At the same time, they fully respect your personal space and independence, giving you the right balance between sharing moments together and having your own time. I’m truly grateful to them.

Benedetta in poco è diventata parte della nostra famiglia! Ci ha aiutati tantissimo, sempre disponibile e gentile, bravissima con il nostro bambino, lui l'ha adorata! L'abbiamo pregata di restare, ma sappiamo che quando si viaggia il tempo a volte è limitato☺️

Bittersweet to leave this beautiful place and this very special family, filled with so many memories after just one week. I’m grateful to have gotten a glimpse into their way of life and to have learned so much about Natalie's and John's parenting, homeschooling, farming, local life and values. They really go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and part of the family in no time. I’m going to miss this place, especially those two little cowboys!

J'ai passé 3,5 semaines chez Aude et elle est vraiement super gentille, polie et adorable! Merci pour ces beaux moments! Ell a deux enfants vivants avec une bon esprit et qui sont trop mignon. Avec Aude on peut discuter de tous, nous avons eu de merveilleuses conversations; elle est très ouvert, ouverte et chaleureuse. Je voulais apprendre le français et avec elle, ses amies et les enfants j'ai réussi à m'améliorer. Chez Aude, j'ai nettoyer et fait le ménage, j'ai paint la porte d'entrée et j'ai ranger. Aude manges beaucoup de fruits et chez elle il y a toujours des légumes dans le frigo; comme je suis vegétarienne aussi, c'était trés agreable de faire la cuisine avec elle! J'éspère de revenir un jour :)

We had a great experience at Esther’s house. Esther was such a lovely, energetic, and thoughtful person, and she always cared about us. We learned so many things, especially about health. This experience has definitely brought us a healthier lifestyle. Every night we learned something new. Learning about healthy natural meals and kinesiology were things we would never have had the chance to experience, so it was really nice. We could really feel the difference in our body and mind before and after our stay. The tasks and time were exactly as described on Esther’s page, and it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Overall, we feel truly grateful for the opportunity to spend time with Esther. Her kindness, energy, and thoughtfulness made our stay unforgettable and we will always appreciate the experience.

Jan visited us for two weeks and offered his active help with the care of our garden and assisting our professional workers with the renovation work in our rooms. Jan is a motivated, reliable and friendly helper. He suited perfectly to our family flow and work ethics. He respected our rules and customs in the household. We greatly appreciated his help and kindness. We have always doors open for him and look forward to seeing him again soon!

Ninie was an absolute joy to have at the sanctuary. She is incredibly hard-working and possesses a level of intuition that is rare. She consistently identified what the animals needed and took initiative without requiring constant oversight. Having her with us for 8 months allowed her to become a foundational part of our daily operations. She understands the rhythm of the sanctuary and the individual needs of the residents better than most. She cares so deeply for the residents that we would often find her working well outside her scheduled hours just to ensure their environment was improved. Ninie is reliable, grounded, and asks insightful questions that show she truly understands the complexities of animal care. Most importantly, she formed deep, special relationships with many of the animals here, who we are sure will miss her as much as we do. She balances her time perfectly between engaging with the team and enjoying her own space. Her quick wit and French sense of humor made her a pleasure to be around. We would welcome her back to the sanctuary in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful week staying at Jonathan’s house! We were able to relax so much throughout our stay. Jonathan always respected our privacy, which made us feel very comfortable. The house and garden are spacious, tidy, and absolutely beautiful 🤩 Helping out in the large garden filled with trees was very relaxing and healing for us. We were mostly trusted to work independently. During our stay, I had to visit the dentist, but Jonathan was always very kind and caring. He gave me medicine and even drove me to and from the clinic, which helped me so much. If there’s a chance, we would love to come back 😆 Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for us 🙏🙏

Natalia was with us for far too short a time and yet she left an incredibly big impact. She is a truly wonderful person who instantly conquers hearts with her warmth, openness, and positive energy. She was not only reliable and committed, but also an absolute joy to have around. Natalia is fun, kind, and brings lightness into everyday life. Everything feels easier and happier with her around, and we genuinely loved every single second we spent with her. When she left, there were real tears — which honestly says it all. ❤️ We highly recommend Natalia with all our hearts. Any family would be incredibly lucky to host her. She leaves every place a little brighter, warmer, and better than she found it. Thank you, dear Natalia, for being you and for sharing your time, laughter, and heart with us. ✨We miss you! See you Xmas in Polonia, we are coming! :-)

Eleanora and Ariana are the very best! They were both the most fabulous addition to our home and family. They were with us for 2 months where they mucked in with our three children . They were kind hard working huge fun and extremely adaptable and generous. And very talented cooks!

Très belle expérience workaway au sein du domaine. L’automne est une période intense mais passionnante. J'ai pu réaliser des tâches variées comme le bois, l'accueil clients, les ménages, s'occuper des animaux. L’ambiance était conviviale, le cadre magnifique et l’accueil très chaleureux. Les filles sont devenues des amies pour la vie. Vous l'aurez compris l'expérience était enrichissante et humaine :) Je recommande les yeux fermés !!!!

I volunteered with sol for five weeks and it was a dream. Her finca is a magical place in the hills on the coast fifteen minutes walking from the beach. It is a place of tranquility that she impressively built together with her volunteers from all over the world. Sol has a heart of gold and a joyful spirit. She is a fantastic storytellers and loves to share her experiences with her volunteers. We spent a lot of time together talking about life and sharing laughter. The finca is home to three wonderful dogs, two cats and three horses, all of whom love cuddles and play! One of my favorite residents is the toad who occasionally makes his way into the house and takes a bath in moon's waterbucket. The days start with a morning shift of 6:45 to 7:00 to feed the dogs and the horses. Between 7:00 and 8:00 is breakfast time and then at 8:00 until 12:00 is the working in the field. This starts with brushing the horses, bringing them to the fields and then cleaning the stables. Everyday the work is different and there are many things to do. Finally there is another short 15 minute shift in the afternoon from 16:45 to 17:00 to feed the dogs and the horses and to bring the horses back from the field. I spent many days working in the fields with Erik, a 19 year old sweet guy who works on the farm. We sang in the fields and he helped me practice my spanish while i helped him practice his english. Just in the time I was staying with sol, there were some safety concerns in the area, as there was a shooting in the nearby Puerto Lopez where we did our groceries, but las Tunas itself was completely safe and tranquil. There is a yoga patio just down from the house and the beach is perfect for beginning surfers! The other wonderful volunteer and I also took the opportunity to go scubadiving at isla de la plata, an experience i can definitely recommend. All in all it was a beautiful time. I spent two weeks with Eyal and Natalia and loved every minute of it. The place is amazing, sourrounded by mango trees, tranquility, birds and green scenery (I never ate so many mangos in my life!). I did a lot of different work such as collecting mangos, preparing for a retreat, take care of the dogs, cleaning, etc. & time went by very quickly. The food from Sara is very very delicious and always enough! In the freetime you can walk to the next village (30mins), walk around the neighbourhood, take a colectivo to Anapoima, swim in the piscina - there's enough to do :) I can only recommend this place if you want to spend time in a relaxing atmosphere. Thanks for everything 🙏

Looking back on my two weeks living with Sean and Mary on their beautiful home/farm it feels as if it was all a dream. The days were perfect; waking up in the caravan to the sound of a thousand wild birds and getting out to see the beautiful sky and nature where they live. Then greeting Mishka (the most lovely dog of all) with a belly rub and checking if there is any koalas in the gum trees this morning. After some delicious breakfast, getting to work with Sean in tasks as varied as imaginable, learning something new every day and having fun each one of them. Helping Mary at the kitchen lets you know the reason why every meal and activity in this home feels so rich: because it's made with love. At the end of the day, we always enjoyed some tea, talks, and laughts, watching the beautiful sunsets in this place from the porch or driving to the nearby priviledged beaches. Sometimes, we could also enjoy a movie night, or a bonfire under the Australian bright starts. I honestly can not express in a message how thankful I am with Sean and Mary for the way they took me into their place in such a special moment, and inspired me with their way of living. What I would say if you are interested in visiting them, is be prepared for one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. The true Aussie life, with heaps of fun, laughter, and unforgettable moments. If you are a city boy just like me, be ready to challenge yourself. Which in my opinion, makes it even more valuable. And specially, take your time to get to know Sean and Mary, for they are so wonderful people from whom you can learn much more than you can imagine. I can say that after living with them (even after such a short time) I know much more of the way I want to be, for the way they inspired me. Thank you Sean and Mary for truly everything!

Our time hosting Elise was comfortable right from the start, Elise was an easy fit into our lifestyle as she is adaptable and easy going. Elise made relationships right away with the kids and patiently played board games most days and took the kids out on walks around the community. Being a busy working parent I so appreciated Elise’s cooking and meal planning, she is an excellent cook, she helped out in so many other ways and we hope to meet her again if we are lucky enough. Safe travels Elise.

I spent two months with Simon, Kei, and their family! I chose this Workaway to experience daily life in rural Japan and farm work, and I certainly learned a lot during my stay. From the moment I arrived, Simon and Kei made me feel welcome. Kei is a wonderful cook and a very kind person who helped me a lot. Simon is a great conversationalist, and we shared many intellectually stimulating discussions. Beyond the work, they took me to discover the region: we went for forest walks, visited Okayama and Kurashiki, and attended a local town festival. I also had the incredible opportunity to join a village event to plant rice seedlings. We also shared nice moments at restaurants, playing board games, trying archery, or playing football with the children. Regarding the work: be prepared to get your hands dirty! Caring for the goats, chickens, and dogs, along with maintaining the vegetable garden, makes for very busy days that require good physical fitness. Note to future volunteers: Keep an eye on the roosters—they will definitely keep you on your toes!

Ari e Marcus sono super accoglienti, gentili e di gran cuore. Sono veramente grata per aver passato un tempo nella pousada e nella meravigliosa Pipa. La comunicazione è stata fluente e chiara. Il piccolo è un amore e non avrei potuto desiderare esperienza migliore. Super raccomandati!

Ich habe den Aufenthalt von Emanuel sehr geschätzt. Er ist sehr ruhig, umgänglich und geduldig. Der gesamte Aufenthalt war klar, ruhig und stressfrei. Der Austausch der Lebenserfahrungen war interressant und er war ein guter Gesprächspartner. Ich hoffe dass er auch in Zukunft wiederkommt und ich mit ihm zusammenarbeiten kann. Geschätzt habe ich auch seinen Respekt und Ehrlichkeit. Ich habe einige Inspiration von ihm bekommen, und ich mag seine Ordentlichkeit. Er war mir eine große Hilfe, ob im Garten, bei Elektroarbeiten und beim Ordnung schaffen. Ich wünsche alles erdenklich Gute für Emanuel auf seinem weiteren Lebens-Weg. Danke dass Du hier warst!
