    Description

    In 2023 I started working with a close friend on a volunteer programme in central Lombok, which is an organisation that offers volunteers from around the world the chance to work in the local villages teaching English to the local children. During my time in the organisation, I saw the positive impact that was being made within these communities, especially with the children. It was then I realised that this was my passion.

    I grew up in a small village close to the beach Pantai Duduk which is in West Lombok so I decided I would like to give back to my own community by starting my own project, with my best friend / business partner Rival.

    Our village is close by Sengiggi, which is a popular tourist destination. The tourism industry brings lots of job opportunities for our local people which is why I feel it’s important to teach our children English to help create a better future for them and help increase their chances of getting employment. They are all so eager to learn and love meeting new people!

    Another passion of mine is the environment, specifically tackling the litter problem that we have here in Lombok, especially on our beaches. Part of our aim is to educate the locals about recycling and to tackle the problem hands on by carrying out regular clean ups on the beach and in the local areas. We would also like to provide recycling trash cans for the locals to use.

    That’s where you come in. If you have similar passions to us and would like to make an impact here in Lombok we invite you to join our project!

    No formal qualifications are required.
    You will work for 1-2 hours in the afternoon and 1-2 hours in the evening. Any other time is your own, although we have lots of optional activities that you may join!

    * programme start date: 12/05/2024*
