Anna , came to stay for approximately 10 days in January. She was well versed and soon got into the swing of things. During her stay another girl came called Lollie, who was also from France. It was a match made in heaven and they got on extremely well and worked together like they had been friends for years. I hope the friendship continues for many years to come. Both girls have ridden the horses and took care of them in a professional way. Both had knowledge in animal care, which was very useful for me. Both were interested in learning and both very helpful with dog walking and keeping the house clean. Anna, was very positive and eager with all her tasks. She repaired one our bikes while here, it had a flat tyre. She cooked some amazing meals and was very clean and tidy around the house. It was a pleasure to have her here and we hope to see her again in he future.

Clara stayed with us for over three weeks and she was a absolute pleasure to have around. Her easy going, fun personality was always appreciated. Clara was a wonderful help on the farm with all the animals and any task you set her to. Clara often went above and beyond to help around the house and with the kids. She was very fun with the kids and often played lots of games with them. If you have a chance to host her you will not be disappointed she's a great addition to any home/farm and we highly Recommend her.

It was a real pleasure to host you Merve, our door is always open. From the very first day, she was deeply committed to our project and took full ownership of the work she was involved in. She helped us with video recording and content creation, and her contribution went far beyond what we expected. She has a natural ability to connect with people and immediately made us feel comfortable. She integrated seamlessly into our daily routine, adapted quickly, and showed genuine interest in our goals, treating them as her own. What really stood out was her attitude. She genuinely cared about our project and made the experience enjoyable and smooth for everyone involved. (Very)Reliable, proactive, and easy to communicate with. We would happily host her again and strongly recommend her to any future hosts (you are very lucky if she chooses you)

Ciara was a Godsend - arriving just in time to give me all the help I needed, getting my house ready to host other helpers. For her first couple of days she cleaned and scrubbed and polished - getting my house in great shape for the newcomers. Then when the others arrived Ciara became part of a great team ,and did lots of heavy garden work. She helped dig out a clay bank and carried bags of clay down the hill to make a rammed earth platform for a pallet shed - (she's and Amazon woman when it comes to strength) - did her share of ramming the rammed earth - and did masses of heavy duty weeding and clearing of blackberry - getting the grass roots out - and clearing the garden steps which have been unusable for months due toeing overgrown. She transformed large parts of the garden and stayed overtime to help finish of the tasks I needed done. Not only is Ciara a super hardworking and competent helper but she's a lovely person, friendly, fun, and respectful of my house and my heath needs. She got on with everyone here and was an absolute pleasure to host. I'm so grateful for all the help she gave and have no hesitation in highly recommending her to any future hosts or employers. She will always be welcome here and I hope to see more of her while she's in New Zealand - and in Ireland - if I ever get there. All the best for your travels Ciara - see you soon.

My stay at Luisa’s place was a very wholesome adventure filled with sunshine, happiness, dogs cuddles, freedom, nature, board games and fun cultural meetings! It felt great to give a hand with whatever was welcome. From the daily tasks: some cleaning and keeping an eye on the doggos to some more casual things like helping with the fences, the path or the building of an outdoor shelter, it all went very smooth. You can count on Louisa for always having innovative ideas that are fun to join! Luisa is a very generous, fast thinking and inspiring person that is always ready to help with anything you could go through. She has been an amazing host but also became a good friend to stay with! During my stay, she helped me overcoming and healing from Giardia, furnishing the medicine and taking care of me when I wasn’t my best self. She also helped me with her great advices and knowledge of the surroundings of Samaipata. Never hesitate to ask her something, you’ll always get some happy surprise out of conversations with her! I spent there a lovely Christmas in a celebration spirit with friends, gifts exchanges and hot wine, 10/10 will recommend and also could enjoy a quiet relaxing New Year’s eve with friends next to a wood fire. Great way to start a fresh year with good energy and happy resolutions. I’ll be very looking forward for us to reform the harmonious harmonica band with you and Ali, it will be good motivation for my future pro career! A HUGE THANK YOU for welcoming me in your life for the time of my stay, I appreciated much hanging out with you, the big dogs and the little puppies, it was very healing for the soul! Much love sent,I hope I will have the occasion to join your adventures again sooner or later! Xoxo

I stayed with this lovely family for one week and had a really positive experience. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel welcome and included as part of the household rather than just a helper. The work was exactly as described: helping with cooking, cleaning, and some general household tasks. Everything was fair, well communicated, and flexible. They were always appreciative of the help and open to suggestions, which made the work feel very collaborative rather than rigid. The social aspect was a big highlight. The family is open, warm, and genuinely interested in cultural exchange. Conversations were easy and fun, and it was nice to spend time together, whether around meals or just chatting at home. The kids are great full of personality and it’s clear that they’re used to having international guests around. They also made sure I felt comfortable in Hoogeveen and were happy to help with practical things or local tips when needed. Overall, it felt like a balanced Workaway: a good mix of helping out, cultural exchange, and feeling at home. I’m grateful for the experience and would definitely recommend this host to other Workawayers who enjoy family life, shared meals, and a welcoming environment. Thanks again for having me!

We had a great time together, speaking French and Spanish for fun and English and German for more " advanced" conversation. Nicolas showed iniciative and flexibility with the tasks and was always happy to give a hand. He prepared great dishes and even baked several cakes. We had inspiring conversations and learnt some bachata dancing. 🙂 an excellent mix of responsibility and fun - keep it up!

Lior (and his adorable, young family) were wonderful hosts and have such an amazing background in world travel and community-building! The work projects were diverse and fun. Lior was very generous about offering activities and his equipment for the non-work hours! The tiny house was very comfortable even with my big dog in there :) As the profile mentions, Lior and the family were very busy and so most of the work was self-directed, which I enjoyed. There were amazing trails in the mountains in every direction. Town/restaurants are walkable/bike-able, but ideally the WorkAwayers will have their own transportation to enjoy Carson City. I would enjoy going back and help during tree planting season - such a worthwhile vision!

I had the most amazing time with Montis family, I arrived here on my first time in Sri Lanka, I was welcomed into the home like a family member. Monti was so helpful from start to finish, he helped me and sent me a lot of useful information before my trip. once I arrived in the house I was welcomed with tea and lovely conversations. there was another workaway here who had stayed there before me and he was so kind and showed me around the area and all the beautiful places there is to visit when staying here, I helped the family with photography for their social media profiles and etc, and also helped a bit with welcoming Airbnb guests. the best thing is that there's also guests coming from many places in the world so I ended up making so many new friends during my stay here, the house is beautiful, the food is amazing and the family is so kind. I will never forget my stay here and I want to come back soon, I feel like I have a family here in Sri Lanka now. thank you for having me, you are all amazing!

I only spent a few days with Mahesh family because my stay in Sri Lanka wasn't long. Mahesh was so helpful and made sure I could stay with them even on short notice, he kept in contact and helped organise a trip so I could teach photography to the students. I had the most amazing time here with Mahesh family and also the students, they have such a big place in my heart now. they were so kind and friendly, curious and asking a lot of questions, wanting to communicate in English. Mahesh wife also cooks the most amazing food and has a heart of gold. I really have a new family in Sri Lanka, if you are reading this and planning to visit this is your sign to do it. you will have a unforgettable experience and leave with a heart full of joy 🩷

We indeed enjoyed the one week stay at Noemis and Walters rural site. excellent accomodation, beautiful view and not the least a carrying and friendly host couple. Both the work and the walks in the landscape suited us well.

Paulo is a real asset. Consider yourself lucky to have him as a volunteer. Both of you benefit from the camaraderie, the shared ideas, and the philosophy.

By the end of my first week I cried and I wanted to go home. But then I stayed 5 more weeks and it was the best decision I've ever made! The tasks aren't always easy at first but by the end I was looking forward to the cleaning, it became relaxing and knowing it's all to take care of the dogs made everything pleasant. This experience was incredibly fulfilling, I learned a lot about myself and a lot about dogs during my stay and through talking with Natasa. Natasa is the most hard working person I have ever met, she cares so deeply for the dogs and will do anything for them it's inspiring to see her work (and knocking down tasks 3 times faster than anyone else can!). Overall there were certainly challenging times but the good times outweigh them by far, I learned lots and I had so much fun with the dogs. Here they have so much freedom you can see all their different characters and get to know them very well. It's truly dog heaven. Thank you again Natasa for an amazing experience and I wish you all the best because you are the best. Hoping to come back next year, Timothy

Manfred was an incredible host, with limitless kindness and generosity. He introduced me to his world, his animals who he calls his "childs", and his love of nature. I learned so much from him, especially about animal care, and I'm so grateful for that. He's always incredibly attentive to his volunteers, making them feel completely at ease ; at his place, you feel right at home. I left with regret after seven weeks in the shelter, and saying goodbye was very difficult! I sincerely hope to have the opportunity to return to his home and see the whole family again. 🦘Thank you again for everything, thanks to you, Australia has a special family feel in my heart 🫶

Chris joined us for a season-long journey starting in May, setting up, and stayed until the very end, closing the season. Calm and relaxed colleague who can handle any customer without a problem. I would also like to point out his superpower in space management, in which he is a master. As a real Croatian man, he knows how to relax on a day off, but also surprise the whole team with some out-of-this-world cookie barbecue experience. Chris, if you thought you were late with feedback, check me out.

I was truly happy to meet Arianna, because she is a very sweet and sensitive person. Beyond the huge help she gave me at home — from cleaning to taking care of the outdoor spaces, and in the kitchen as well — she took care of me many times, and that meant a lot to me. We shared beautiful moments around meals, sometimes I cooked, sometimes she did, and that brought us a lot of joy. But it wasn’t only that: we also had moments of reflection and personal growth. I know it was important for her, and even if I may not have told her enough, it was very important for me too. Through this experience, I also made several steps forward, especially in how I relate to other people.

Best experience ever! The Host Natasha is really the nicest person we've ever met and so is the Team! Everyone was so welcoming and sweet! We really experienced the Sri Lankan culture in the most beautiful way and loved to work with them! The hotel, the pool, the location and the view is amazing! We can't wait to come back! It really feels like our second home now!

Our experience with Gonzalo was truly inspiring. He taught us about the nature, animals and farm life which was interesting in many ways. We spent christmas with him and his family which truly was an honor sharing the evening with them. We also did a language exchange and had some spanish lessons which was great. Gonzalo also showed us many beautiful nature areas and even took us to an auction for the horses and cows, such a fun experience! Thank you Gonzalo for letting us stay in your house and teaching us spanish and the ways around your farm. We are very grateful and miss you and the animals already!
