    Description

Stay in a peaceful Tuscan farmhouse with a neurodivergent host, three cats, and lots of creativity.
Help me fix my garden after a flood and house renovations.

🌿 Welcome to my Tuscan farmhouse!

Hi! I'm Violeta – I’m 44, Italo-Argentinian, and both Italian and Spanish are my native languages.
I also speak English and French well enough to communicate, and I always welcome the help of a translator if needed!

I’m neurodivergent (ADHD, autistic, highly sensitive, gifted), which means I experience the world a bit differently.
Sometimes I need space and solitude, other times I dive into long creative or work sessions with great focus.

I live in the countryside with my three beloved cats, surrounded by nature and silence — and I’m looking for a kind, open-minded person to share a little time, space, and some practical help!

    🏡 About the place

In 2021, I bought this old farmhouse on the hills of Tuscany, not far from Livorno.
The moment I walked into the garden, I fell in love with its peaceful energy.
The garden is very large, there are fruit trees and my dream of building a fairy garden by constructing various different corners around the farmhouse.
The house isn't finished yet, the electrical system on the first floor is incomplete, there are still rooms to paint, and the garden really needs help. Unfortunately, the first company to start the work cheated me out of a lot of money, and in 2023 there was a flood, and I still haven't fixed all the damage it left. I have been living here alone since April 2024 and it is difficult for me to carry on both my work and the work at home.
There's a lot of potential here, and some parts are still a work in progress — inside and out.

👩‍⚕️ About me and my work
I’m a midwife specialized in women’s health, pelvic education and sexuality.
One room in the house is used to film educational videos for my social media and online courses.
So you might see lights, tripods and anatomy books around!
I work from home a lot, and sometimes I need help because I’m still catching up with renovation and gardening tasks.

    🤝 What I’m looking for
Someone kind, curious, open to sharing space and conversation — but also okay with quiet time and self-direction.
You don’t need to be an expert: a willingness to learn and contribute is what matters most, there are so many things to do!

I have chosen to host only women, preferably over 20-23 years old
I'd like to do a video call before confirming

💪 What I need help with, you can help with:

🌱 Help in the garden – tasks you can do
Mowing the grass (with a regular lawn mower and a brushcutter/weed trimmer)
Cleaning up piles of wood left by the flood
Clearing and fixing the fence damaged by the flood
Cutting and removing fallen branches left by the flood
Pruning plants and trees depending on the season
Fruit picking depending on the season
Sowing seeds and planting bulbs depending on the season
    Watering the plants
Cleaning and organizing the tools area and the laundry room
Moving and stacking firewood (if needed)
Cleaning terraces / verandas / outdoor areas
    Washing outdoor chairs and tables

🏡Help around the house – tasks you can do
    📅 Daily tasks
    Sweeping and cleaning floors
    Removing cobwebs and dust
Cat care: cleaning the litter box, changing the cats’ water, sweeping around their areas, washing bowls from time to time
Hanging laundry to dry and folding clothes
Taking out the trash and sorting recycling
    General tidying of shared/common areas

    💪🏻Deep cleaning (farmhouse)
    Cleaning shutters and windows
    Cleaning appliances
Cleaning the fridge (throwing away old items, wiping shelves)
Organizing cupboards / pantry (if you like it — it can be surprisingly therapeutic!)

    🍽️🥗Food
👩🏻‍🍳Cooking: I have a fully equipped kitchen and I love using it! I eat everything, but especially love vegetables and legumes.
Kitchen work is usually shared: we can cook and clean together, just like "he who cooks doesn't wash the dishes." If I need extra help with meals because I have to work, this will obviously be included in the exchange hours.

⚠️Keeping your own room clean and tidy is the volunteer’s responsibility.
We ask you to maintain daily basic order: making the bed, dusting surfaces when needed, and keeping personal items/clothes organized. I ask that you leave the room and bathroom clean for the arrival of a new guest.

📍 How to get here (yes, I'm in the middle of nowhere!)
⚠️⚠️⚠️The main road has been closed for the time being to repair a bridge, and we don't yet know where the bus will run, so there may not be any public service.

There will be bicycles at the house, allowing you to reach Collesalvetti in a half-hour ride.
I can't always provide a ride to the city center when I go to work in Livorno or to the bus stop. I drive to Livorno 2-4 times a week, I don't accompany people to Livorno unless I have to go too.
The nearest train station is Livorno Centrale and the airport is Pisa Galileo Galilei.

I would love to improve my English and French, learn about other craft techniques, experience other cultures, and have company.
I can teach you about herbal medicine and phytotherapy, food preservation, traditional Italian recipes, and many crafting techniques (sewing, knitting, crochet, ceramics, mosaics, and more).

    🚭 House rules
No smoking inside the house (outdoor areas are fine if done respectfully).
Please be mindful of shared spaces and clean up after yourself.
Respect for the animals and nature around us is very important here.
I prefer to host only women

🌍 Cultural exchange at my place
Staying with me is a chance to experience life in the Tuscan countryside through the lens of a neurodivergent, creative, and holistic lifestyle.
You’ll learn about Italy from a bilingual Italo-Argentinian perspective — I can share both
Italian and Latin American culture, and we can speak in Italian, Spanish, English or French (or mix them all if you'd like!).

As a midwife and educator in women’s health and sexuality, I’m happy to share knowledge around body literacy, hormonal health, menstrual cycles, and how to live more in tune with your body and nature.
You’ll also see how I create educational content and work as a solo entrepreneur.
If you’re interested, I can also share practical skills like:
Cooking with fresh vegetables, legumes and seasonal foods
    Herbal medicine, natural remedies

    Accommodation

    🛏️ What I offer
You’ll have your own room with a private bathroom for Workawayer (one-and-a-half bed, desk, wardrobe).
Between the room and the bathroom, there’s also a single bed and a linen storage area.
Violeta has her own private bathroom.

🥗Often I’ll cook for you when I’m home — otherwise, feel free to use the kitchen, but we'll probably cook together.

📶 There’s Wi-Fi, but mobile signal is limited and only works in some areas.

    ⚠️ Things to know:
The upper floor still runs on extension cords (electric work pending).
In winter, the house isn't very warm; the inside temperature ranges from 15 to 18 degrees Celsius. I heat the house with a wood stove. For heating the bathroom, I use a gas stove.

The internet connection works via satellite. It’s usually stable, but occasionally it may drop for a few seconds or minutes — so it’s good to be aware if you work remotely or rely heavily on online access.

    Space for parking camper vans

There is space to park a campervan, but I don’t have the facilities for water, electricity hook-up, or waste disposal — so it's better suited for short stays or self-sufficient setups.

    Can possibly accept pets

I have three cats who are very much part of the household. They're independent and used to having their space — I’m not sure how they would react to other animals in the house. Also, the property is not fully fenced: there are open areas, so if you're traveling with animals, keep in mind that they might wander off or encounter wildlife.
