Maike was a kind, reliable, and enthusiastic volunteer during her time at our hostel. She approached every task with care, whether assisting guests, helping with daily operations, or supporting the team behind the scenes. Her friendly attitude and ability to connect with travelers created a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Maike made a meaningful contribution to our hostel community, and we are truly grateful for her time and dedication. We would happily welcome her back anytime. Thank you, Maike!

We also had a wonderful time with Robert and Fiona and really enjoyed the experience! They were always very kind, welcoming, and available whenever needed. The tasks were varied and interesting. The cottage we stayed in was very well equipped, which made our stay really comfortable, and during our days off we had the chance to explore the region and truly enjoy it. A great experience for us as well, with very good memories. Thank you again!

My time with Kunuk and Aurelia was wonderful. I had planned to stay for two weeks and ended up staying for six. We got along well from the start and wäre able to live together naturally. They are both very friendly, inclusive and act with great trust. Living with Nooqi and Moka, their two dogs was also pleasant; they are both very well-behaved. We Workawayers had our own rooms, which were very well equipped. We shared the bathroom and toilet, as the main bathroom became one of our projects. The project bathroom kept me there longer than planned. I was able to help with research, planning and execution. In addition to the bathroom, we also carried out some minor renovation work. In my free time, I was able to borrow an e-bike to explore the area. After about 15km you can reach several beaches and a little further away the towns of Bogense and Odense. I would recommend a stay in the home of Aurelia, Kunuk, Moka and Nooqi. My stay there was just great.

My 2 friends and I spent a week with Joana, Tiago, princesa Maria, and macaco Pedro! It was such a wonderful experience. Joana and Tiago are so well-traveled and incredible to talk to. Joana is truly the greatest chef in all of Portugal. We had the most delicious vegetarian meals. Tiago and I got to practice our Turkish with each other, which was such a pleasant surprise! Joana and Tiago are incredibly accommodating; they gave us a day off to visit Sintra and provided us with numerous recommendations for our travels. A true highlight of the trip was spending time with princesa Maria and macaco Pedro. They are the sweetest children and had us laughing and losing at UNO every day. Our work primarily included domestic tasks, clearing out their tiny house/garage/back room, and watching the kids! Thank you so much for an incredible experience! Teşekkür ederim!

My stay at Eva's place brought me an amazing experience. I miss the mornings at the farm, walking with Holly and cuddling with Percy, talking to Eva's lovely boys and just digging with my hands in the dirt. I came to the farm at the beginning of October and stayed 12 weeks. The truth is, there is always a lot to do at a farm and this place is not an exception. But it's also a great place to learn new things and enjoy great food from the harvested pieces. I've experienced many happy moments on the farm, that I would be forever grateful for. I would recommend to anyone seeking a new work experience but also beautiful nature around! Thank you for everything Eva!

Joan and Sjurdur and Magne were super nice and really funny. I am super glad I got to know them and thankful for all the experiences, laughs and moments together. They are the most easy going people I've ever met and I got to do alot but also had a lot of free time. Really recomend them, I ended up staying one more month than planned because of their hospitality and habit of including me to literally everything. They are lovely people and I am going to miss them so much!

It was a real pleasure to host Mastewal. She is from France, a graduate, and is preparing to start her master’s studies. From the very beginning, she was extremely well-behaved, respectful, and understanding of our culture, which is quite different from Europe. She adapted beautifully and showed genuine respect at all times. Mastewal was always helpful whenever we needed support. She never disturbed us and brought a calm, positive presence to our home. She helped Kusum in the kitchen with great interest and care, and she was always ready to listen to advice, learn new things, and improve herself. She speaks and writes both English and French very well, which made communication easy and pleasant. She also helped me practice my French, so having her with us was a great opportunity for language learning. She is active, enthusiastic, and ready to do any task, whether in the house, garden, or daily activities. We truly recommend Mastewal to anyone who is looking not only for a helpful and responsible person, but also for a friendly, respectful, and intelligent companion in the home and for language studies. We wish her all the very best for her future and sincerely hope to meet her again one day

My time here was an absolute pleasure. Galen and the entire hostel team were incredibly welcoming, and it didn’t take long to feel at home – which made it even harder to leave this amazing place. Together with the other volunteers, my role mainly involved promoting the hostel’s various events by handing out flyers, welcoming guests and hosting the evening welcome drinks, as well as helping out on the Sunday trip to Playa de Estrella – my favourite day of the week! As you can imagine, it often didn’t even feel like work ;) Overall, the workload was very fair for what you get in return: beautiful accommodation, great food, and the best people to be surrounded by. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience in Bocas, Galen! You have truly created a special place, and I hope to come back one day. 🥂

Luke was a pleasue to host! we was always so eager to get stuck in with any Job. he worked great in group activities and even stayed positive when we were working in the grey, wet and cooler elements - infact i think this is when this irish man was in his element!! he was great to have in the house and was respectful and consciensous of timings and space. we loved playing games with him, and loved how he educated us on the arts and film industry. we enjoyed his calm and laid back attitude and hense of humour and would welcome him back anytime. he made the most of his envirment here and went hiking and explored our neighbouring valleys and rivers during his time off.

Even though it was only for a week, I truly enjoyed my stay here. During the day, I usually helped with the gardening. It was so rewarding to see how the garden changed through our hard work. At night, we talked about so many things, including our languages and cultures. Fifi, her family, and everyone I met here were absolutely wonderful. I hope to come back and see you all again someday!

Hello I spent three weeks with the association, and it was an incredibly enriching and meaningful experience. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to learn new skills, immerse themselves in a different culture, and be part of a caring and inspiring community. In the mornings, I worked with Peter, who is very patient and pedagogical. He takes the time to explain everything clearly and always encourages you to try and learn. What I really appreciated is that he gives you the freedom to choose between different tasks depending on your interests: managing hotel booking platforms, photography, editing photos and videos for social media, or creating brochures. Peter is extremely attentive, supportive, and always willing to listen. In the afternoons, I went to the school to teach English. The team there is incredibly welcoming, kind, and caring. I worked with local teachers and Cambodian interns, which was both very instructive and fun. From the very first day, I felt integrated into the group. The atmosphere is warm and feels like a big family, everyone supports each other and makes you feel at home. This experience was particularly enriching because I learned so much, both professionally and personally. Living and working alongside local people allowed me to discover Cambodian customs and culture. The teams are always attentive, respectful, and eager to share their knowledge and traditions. I learned a lot, whether at the office or at the school, and I shared many beautiful moments with the volunteers from Timor Leste. It was a wonderful experience, and I am deeply grateful to the entire team for their kindness and support.

Working with Jip was great! We had an amazing time with her and would absolutely recommend working with her. She had an amazing energy, was really nice, and incredibly helpful.

Nicky warned us in advance: this would be a life-changing experience. And without a doubt, it truly was. The Maasai community we joined welcomed us with incredible warmth and hospitality. Alongside meaningful work, cultural exchange was highly valued. There was plenty of space to immerse ourselves in Maasai culture. For example, I spent several days herding goats with Barnoti in the hills, while Riet worked as a dentist with the hostel’s children. We stayed in a Boma and were invited to witness several spectacular ceremonies. Our hosts, Salome and Matthew, provided a warm and supportive base. Salome introduced us to the community, while Matthew was open to deep societal and political discussions. That combination was powerful, exceptionally enriching, and nurturing. Salome, Matthew, we are profoundly grateful for your warmth. This experience wouldn’t have been possible without you. We miss you. We were surrounded by the project’s team members. Lerionka, Kadogo, Hussain, Barnoti, and many other wonderful people made us feel at home. At all times, we were surrounded by people eager to show us the heart of the Maasai community. And then there were the children at the hostel—a lively bunch and an overwhelming bundle of love. Our hearts broke when it was time to say goodbye. Although our time there was some months ago, the impact of this experience is still very present. It has put so much into perspective. Thank you, to all at the foundation.

We had an amazing time with Saskia here. She had the best energy, super friendly, nice and helpful. We are really grateful for the amazing job she put in and we hope to see her around again. We highly recommend working with her.

La finca, un lúgar mágico. He pasado un tiempo tan maravilloso. Anhelaba una pausa en la que pudiera aprender cosas nuevas, estar en la naturaleza, encontrar tranquilidad y conocer más sobre la cultura del país y su gente. Y exactamente eso fue lo que encontré en la finca. Fui recibida con los brazos y los corazones abiertos. Experimenté muchísima confianza y aprecio. Las gallinas fueron mis compañeras cada día, pero además había una gran variedad de tareas que hicieron el día a día tan bonito. Y estuve cuidada y atendida en todo momento. Una preciosa terraza propia, mi propio espacio y una comida deliciosa. Me llevo muchas inspiraciones para continuar mi viaje de vida: nuevos impulsos, reflexiones y recetas colombianas. ¡Muchas gracias por este tiempo tan espectácular!
