Thank you so much for your beautiful and heartfelt feedback. It truly touched our heart. It was an absolute pleasure to host you, and we are very happy that you felt at home with myself and Chiku. Treating you like family came naturally to us. Your help in the kitchen and dining area, and the positive energy you shared with everyone, made your stay even more special. Wotkawayers like you turn work into joy and memories into lifelong connections. You will always be welcome here, and this will always be your home in Jaisalmer. Thank you once again for your kind words and appreciation. Warm regards and best wishes. Thank you 🙏

It has been such a pleasure to spend time with Jonathan and we hope we'll meet each other again! He came to our place like a rainbow during a rainy day: it has been a pure cultural exchange because of the rainy weather and the short time he had to stay with us, but we enjoyed every minute of it! He is a very good guitar player and has tons of story to tell about his travel. See you soon Jonathan and remember: "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end." Our experience with this host was mixed and may depend a lot on personal expectations and working style. During our stay, the house rules and daily organization were not always very clear to us, particularly regarding food arrangements and cooking schedules, so future volunteers may find it helpful to clarify these aspects in advance. The main tasks we carried out were related to renovating metal grilles, which made the work quite repetitive. Accommodation-wise, we had a private apartment with a bedroom, bathroom, and a small living area, which offered independence and privacy. However, it is worth noting that there was no internet connection available. The host is a very reserved person and interaction was limited, so this experience may be better suited to volunteers who are comfortable with working independently and spending a lot of time on their own. Overall, while we appreciated having our own space, the experience did not fully meet our expectations and we decided to leave a few days earlier. For the right volunteer profile, however, this setup could still be a good fit.

Hana is an ideal volunteer and we are so glad she was with us for 4 months! She is proactive in the right way, she's educated and skilled, and she has a calm presence. Our little boy and Hana connected super well. They invented games together, had long chats, she prepared his meals (lots of pasta with olive oil and salt flakes), spent a lot of time outside in kiddie parks and the Plaza Mayor. Our child is intelligent and curious, and he usually responds well to explanations even if he doesn't always fully understand yet - I liked that Hana would explain things to him, in a neutral way. And she was always fully present with him - she'd answer her phone if I needed to call her (only a few times), but she was never looking at her phone while with him. They mostly spoke English together, but she'd practice some Spanish with him as well. Hana also helped with a lot of organizing, cleaning, and looking after our dog when we went to visit our family in another country, which was a fantastic help. And she's a good driver. Thank you, Hana!

Laura was a wonderful volunteer. we really enjoyed having her with us for about a month. She became part of our familiy and we really didnt want her to leave. She is super motivated and highly skilled with woodworking! She built a wodden path and a king size bed together with us, which was amazing. She also made new wooden signs for our campground which turned out beautiful. Especially our son loved to play with her. She is an allround talent and can help with everything needed,. We really wish she could stay with us for longer. we hope to have her to come and see us again one day!

If you have the opportunity to host Reiko you will not be disappointed. Reiko is a neat, polite and cheerful person who goes out of her way to help with household chores. She may appear quiet at first but that is because she is always processing and thinking. An expert with the crochet hook, she was kind enough to leave behind several gifts that are now part of our household. Reiko will complete every task in a meticulous fashion, whether they were assigned or she saw them on her own. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to host this delightful young Lady. Reiko we miss you and wish you all the best in your future travels. Come back and visit again.

I stayed at this beautiful vegan farm for a month, and it was without a doubt the best workaway experience I have ever had. From the very beginning this place felt special and welcoming. The work mainly focused on taking care of the garden. I also helped with the construction of the bathroom and doing some mosaic on the stove. Alongside the work, there were many inspiring workshops where I learned more about permaculture, bamboo and herbal medicine. The vegan meals were amazing, some of the best I have ever had. Pure also took us on small trips, visiting the temple, waterfalls and night market. On top of that, we played soccer a few times, which was super fun and brought everyone even closer together. This place taught me so much about permaculture, sustainable living and community life. Pure and the other volunteers were incredibly kind and supportive, which made this experience even better I made friendships and connections that will stay with me for life. I am deeply grateful for this experience, Thankyou so much Pure:)

I had a really nice and very inspirational stay with Elisa and Hans-Hermann. They are very interesting artistic people with amazing amounts of knowledge and experience. They have a very clear vision for their space and reasonably high expectations for workawayers joining them. The communication is very clear and direct. The amenities are very good with private kitchen, bathroom, fireplace, washing room and amazing garden to explore. They provided me with nice Italian food as we ate lunch together and plenty of food for me to prepare for my breakfast and dinner. They also made sure I had the most authentic experiences and brought me to close cities and for walks in nature. A good place for responsible workawayers with interest in nature and learning, and willing to work hard in the gardens!

I spent around 4 weeks volunteering on reception at this hostel over Christmas and New Years. It’s such a lovely hostel with lots of space and a nice kitchen. The work required is really simple once you get the hang of it. The owners answered any questions that I had and were lovely to get to know. We went out for dinner and drinks after my last shift. The rooms are lovely and there are plenty of bathrooms. One of the best showers I’ve had in SA. The majority of guests speak Spanish so it’s a really good place if you want to improve your Spanish! Overall a brilliant experience, made lots of friends and loved exploring the area whilst volunteering.

I spent one month at Sylwia and Bruno’s house, and I must say it has been one of my favorite Workaway experiences! The place is fantastic: beautiful, very private, surrounded by trees and close to the small town of Grijó. The kind animals and the great view make it a true hidden gem. I really enjoyed working in the permaculture garden, keeping the outdoor areas clean, cooking, assisting in carpentry and fixing things using upcycled materials 🌱🛠🪵 As a vegetarian, I sometimes added more veggie dishes to lunch or dinner, and everyone in the house was always happy to taste and appreciate all kinds of food. Besides the very peaceful moments spent relaxing at home, in some restaurants, or in the caravan in the mountains, enjoying good food and sharing time with Bruno and Sylwia's friends was truly pleasant. Sylwia and Bruno are such great people! Very welcoming, always open to nice conversations and fun. They are very complementary and comprehensive, which makes living with them easy and super comfortable. Ruben, Bruno's son is also a very friendly guy and we had nice conversations about travels, food and activities in Portugal. Sylwia, Bruno, I had a great time with you both 🧡 Thank u very much ! I hope to see you again soon☀️🌺

I just got home after 3.5 incredible months in Quesnel. This was a unique Workaway experience where you truly become part of the family, joining all meals and activities. Jen and Rob made me feel at home from day one, together with their two sweet Labradors. The house is very cute, and I always felt comfortable there. The food was also amazing, thanks to Jen, who is a fantastic cook. I knew very little about cutting and western riding before coming here, and I learned a lot in a short time. The horses are very well trained, and you get to ride a lot. I was lucky enough to ride Lana, a four-year-old who had just been started. As someone who had never ridden young or untrained horses before, this taught me a lot and gave me many new perspectives on horsemanship. Rob is very knowledgeable and knows exactly how he wants things done, so if you are open, eager to learn about the world of cutting, and able to adapt easily, this is a great place for that. I also gained valuable experience in farm work and horse care. For example, I got to help with shoeing horses, which was very fun. You get up early every day to do barn chores—a lifestyle very different from my student life in the city of Oslo. However, I enjoyed every day: watching beautiful sunrises, cuddling with horses, and living in such a calm and peaceful place. There was still plenty of time to relax and do other things. I even completed two online university courses while I was there with no issues. In addition, I got to experience many other activities, such as ice hockey games, ice fishing, visiting the local historical museum, going to the movie theatre, playing pickleball, and going to farmers’ markets. I was also lucky enough to celebrate Christmas there, which was wonderful. Quesnel is a lovely town with friendly people. As hard as it is to put this experience into words, these have been some of the most fun, interesting, challenging, and memorable months of my life. Not only did I learn a lot about horses, but also about myself. Canada will always be in my heart. Big thanks to Jen and Rob!

I had the most amazing time staying with Sankalp at his beautuful hostel. This place is truly special and an oasis right in the heart of Tapovan. I had a great time working at reception, welcoming guests, and helping decorate for Christmas. The work was really manageable and I had plenty of free time to explore beautiful Rishikesh. Thank you for having me and hope to see you again soon :)

Hosting Hadrien across multiple properties was a pleasure! He was incredibly helpful, taking photos and scouting the local area to give us a detailed look at tourism opportunities for our homestays. We also really enjoyed our conversations with him.

I absolutely loved my volunteer experience with Alyce!! I stayed for two weeks. The dogs are well trained and very loving. Some are younger and more energetic, others are older and calmer, each with a very distinct personality. Alyce is wonderful, funny, and always happy to share her knowledge. If you’re looking for a volunteer opportunity not too far from Lake Atitlán, I highly recommend this one! 🙂

I spent 13 lovely days at Everest homestay with Mim & Chit, building a bar on the rooftop. Kalimati, despite not being that far from Kathmandu, is basically in the middle of nowhere, it's a tiny village with a small shop and nothing else apart from the homestay, where locals come to have a drink and listen to music (now at the rooftop bar!) The work is planned out to suit your skills, they are effectively building a new homestay so there is lots to do, whether it's building work, gardening work or providing artwork (this would be a great place for an artist). i have some building experience so it was ideal for me, I felt i achieved lots. I also went for a lovely walk, there's lots of little villages nearby and places to explore. It's on top of a hill so wherever you go is down (and inevitably, coming back is up!) The food was excellent, 3 meals a day and not just dahl baht, I really liked the buckwheat roti (or was it millet, i can't remember!). Thank you Chit for looking after us, and for the night time conversations by the fire 😁 And of course, the views. For me, the view from here is comparable to Poon Hill or Mulde Peak. The mountains are further away but you get to see the Annapurna range, Langtang range and Everest range, including the peak of Everest. Thank you so much, I'm likely to be back for some more rooftop dancing 😁

Thank you for allowing us to join you today as we briefly visit Hoi An. What a wonderful project and fantastic selection of books. We cleaned and organised the shelves and categorised the newly donated books. The children I am sure will enjoy your place of learning.

Merci 😊.

Xena and Jack. For us everything was correct from the very beginning, and it was a really good experience to have you at our finca. We truly enjoyed having you here and sharing daily life together, and the exchange flowed easily and naturally. Your help was very important for us, especially with the more demanding work, and we really appreciated your flexibility, positive attitude, and energy. We are very happy to know that you felt comfortable and well looked after, even when the weather was challenging. We wish you all the best on your adventure and hope everything goes great for you. Big hugs, Lili and Wolfgang

Our stay was an incredibly positive experience. We spent a wonderful time with the whole team, and from the very beginning we felt a strong sense of family and warmth. The work was light, enjoyable, and well organized. We had the opportunity to see how a hotel operates from the inside, interact with guests, and gain new experience. What truly made this place special was the people. We enjoyed a lot the time spent together during shared meals — it was amazing to discover traditional Latin American flavors and well as conversations that trully made us feel like part of the family. Guys were always supportive, kind, and happy to share their knowledge and advice, especially when it came to planning our journey. We totally recommend this place to anyone looking for more than just a Workaway, but a genuine cultural exchange and a welcoming community. ¡Muchas gracias!

Eran's farm was my first workaway and I'm very thankful for such a positive experience. It was very easy to work together as Eran is very flexible and guides you along through his process. Even though the place is very remote (I recommend a car, although there is plenty to keep busy with on the land as well), Eran made sure to include me in all his plans & friends and gave me great recommendations and freedom to explore. I'm happy I was able to experience his openness, kindness, and vision. :)
