    Description

Hi! We are Bruno and Sylwia a couple living on a farm in a beautiful rural setting in Gaia, about 20 minutes south of Porto city and 8 km from the ocean coast. A couple of years ago, we followed our dream of embracing a lifestyle more connected to nature, purchased a small piece of land, build a wooden house and started to cultivate our own food.

Sylwia is an IT pro and works remotely from home. Bruno is a multi professional, from musician to business ceo. We both love our eco-living and professional activities, we have lots of DIY projects on hand and much appreciate a small help here and there.

The tasks are flexible and depend on your interests and skills. You can take part in:

🌱 Gardening – Planting, watering, harvesting, and experimenting with organic techniques.
🐓 Animal Care – Feeding, cleaning, and simply spending time with our friendly animals. We have 4 dogs, a couple of peacocks, ducks and a bunch of chickens.
🍃 GeneralMaintenance – Keeping outdoor spaces tidy, assisting with small repairs, and helping us on the land.

Our localisation is a great starting point to visit and explore a beautiful silver coast and the city of Porto. There is a public transport available 5-10min walk from home. At the same distance exist a supermarket, restaurants and some local businesses. We also have one bicycle you can use.

Every day there is so much to learn and workaways can learn with us, from us or they will teach us. We like to share ou knowledge and interests that includes healthy lifestyle, growing and preserving vegetables, looking after co-living animals or sustainable construction. We both like music, playing instruments, singing, dancing and every now and then we organise a jam session with friends. The friends gatherings are important part of our life, we like to have dinner events and exchange ideas about sustainable living and deep philosophical subjects.

By joining us you can experience life with eco-living habits in a surrender of a nature. You can also practice your Portuguese and/or English skills. We try to live our lives in an open hearted way and welcome travellers from all cultures.

    Accommodation

We provide a comfortable double bedroom in our house, the bathroom, kitchen and living room are shared.

With regard to meals, workaways have full access to our kitchen and food to make breakfast and lunch. It is our routine to have lunch around 12h, workaways who like cooking for home would be a great help. We usually eat a light meal together in the evening and help is much appreciated with this.

We tend not to eat meat and prefer vegetarian or vegan diet. We are quite adaptable, but it's difficult to accommodate vegans - with a bunch of chickens running around, their amazing eggs are a main part of our diet.
