Welcome to Indian Culture Hostel
Our hostel is more than a place to stay; it is a living space shaped by stories, shared meals, meaningful conversations, and a deep respect for cultural exchange. Nestled in an environment that values simplicity, mindfulness, and community, our hostel welcomes travelers who are curious, open-hearted, and willing to contribute their energy to a shared way of life.
Through Workaway, we invite volunteers from all backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life to become part of our daily rhythm. In exchange for five hours of work per day, we offer comfortable accommodation, a supportive environment, and the opportunity to experience authentic community living. Our minimum commitment is one week.
The work is practical and collaborative, designed to support the hostel’s smooth functioning while allowing plenty of time for rest, exploration, and personal growth. Equally important is the atmosphere we cultivate: respectful, inclusive, and grounded in mutual trust. We value sincerity over perfection, presence over pressure, and human connection over formality.
At our hostel, volunteers are not just helpers; they are part of our extended family. If you are seeking a space with good energy, cultural depth, and a welcoming vibe where people from across the world come together with shared intention, we would be happy to host you.

Type of Help We Welcome
Tthe help we request is diverse, practical, and creative, reflecting the many layers of hostel life. Volunteers may be involved in a variety of activities depending on skills, interests, and daily needs. This can include housekeeping and general cleaning, and assisting in maintaining common areas, so the space remains welcoming and comfortable for everyone.
We also value creative and hands-on contributions. Volunteers with an artistic inclination may help with painting, decoration, or small design projects that add character and warmth to the hostel. Gardening and caring for outdoor spaces are equally important, as is helping with the well-being and daily care of our pets, who are very much part of our community.
The work is not rigidly defined; it flows with the rhythm of the hostel. We aim to match tasks with each person’s strengths while encouraging learning and collaboration. More than specific skills, we value responsibility, sincerity, and a positive attitude. Every contribution, whether practical or creative, plays a crucial role in sustaining the shared environment we inhabit together.

English is the primary language used at the hostel for daily communication. However, language is never a barrier here. We warmly welcome people from all countries and cultures, and we enjoy exchanging languages, expressions, and stories from around the world. Basic English for coordination is helpful, but openness, respect, and a willingness to communicate matter far more than fluency. I can teach HINDI and am willing to learn yours.

Dorms, with one bed in shared rooms, and sometimes also in a room called the staff room. No meals included.

Rishikesh is the capital of yoga, you can practice this way of living. Also chill at the ganga and visit many temples and attractions in rishikesh, there are waterfalls and treks. We will provide you information about everything you can do.
