Amazing experience teaching the children in the countyside. The kids are all enthusiastic and amazing, and people in the village are very kind. Sovanarrith and his family are nice and welcoming, and the food is very good. We were here with a lot of other volunteers, which only enhanced our experience! We could arrive immediately after our first contact, so if you're looking for something quick this is a very good option.

Staying at Mikes has been one of my highlights whilst in New Zealand, Mike is an excellent host ensuring you have all the tools required, great instructions (especially when it was my first time parking with a trailer) extremely knowledgeable and lets you work independently. The work is very rewarding and varied, tasks involved weeding, mulching, cutting down ginger and building a bicycle track! Mike always had a full fridge consisting of great food and fresh veg and fruit, but also recommended the local bakery which I perhaps visited too often! In the evenings we ate together which was great, we shared many laughs and great conversations as a group and was great getting to know the other Workaway volunteers. Mike is very knowledgeable of the local surroundings and told us where the beaches were, the walks we could do, as well as where to spot glow worms. I would recommend Mikes place to anyone who wants a rewarding Workaway experience and isn't shy of some physical work. In February, I landed in Australia for the first time. After just one day in Brisbane, I immediately spent two weeks with Ewen and Lesley. It was truly a wonderful time. Ewen taught me a lot. We built a water pipe, installed a railing, and did many other interesting things. I was initially overwhelmed by a lot of it, but thanks to Ewen's explanations, I quickly understood everything. It's amazing how much he knows and how well and calmly he can teach you. Lesley is really lovely and has a great sense of humor. It was also realy nice meeting her familie You immediately feel at home. They have really cute and loving pets. Even their dog, Diesel, can be quite sweet if you treat him well. I had the disadvantage of not having a driver's license, so it was more difficult to visit places. However, they both helped me a lot with that. Thanks to them, I saw many beautiful places that I probably would never have visited otherwise. It was also wonderful to meet other Workawayers. During my stay, I got to know four other Workawayers, and it was great. They were all incredibly nice, and we had a lot of fun, not only at work but also at our regular game nights together. I am looking forward to meet you someday again❤️.

Nous avons passé un incroyable séjour chez Killie et Nathan. Quelle magnifique expérience ! Nous étions comme en famille. Mes filles pouvaient faire les gâteaux qu'elles voulaient. Killie leur a laissé la cuisine à disposition, c'est une femme et maman incroyable. J'ai été impressionné de son savoir-faire et son lâcher prise. Nous avons aidé au jardin, à désherber, planter et à ranger un abris à semis en contrepartie nous avons mangé de délicieux repas et étions logés. Mes deux garçons ont aimé jouer avec leurs enfants. Nous étions 6 et nous avons été tellement bien accueilli. Nous n'oublierons jamais ! Merci pour tout !

Mei arrived and slotted in perfectly during a busy time for us. Her attention to detail with house work was second to none. Mei was always looking for things to do and contributing to the household. Mei is a great cook and amazing with children 😍 our girls adored her and Bobbi especially loved all the fun play time and Mei taking the time to even go to the pool with her. Very special exchange and would highly recommend. Confident in her abilities and tasks and a very hard worker who went above and beyond with great initiative. Thank you Mei and we hope you enjoy the rest of your travels before you fly home to Japan

Quentin and Maelys Right from the first day Q&M were enjoyable to be around , although Language sometimes was the sauce of laughter , over all they were polite, respectful and hardworking , very tidy and managed their time well.Quentin and Maelys have a real eye for detail and their gardening techniques were very helpful , the all round skill set was very appreciated, from trying new things to conquering fears of large animals to catching possums. Pleasure to have stay would recommend to any hosts looking for a hard working honest down to earth couple. Enjoy your travels

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour d'un mois et demi avec Bianca, Matt et leurs deux ados. Ne sachant pas parler anglais, Bianca a été très patiente et tellement attentive à nos besoins. Elle n'a pas hésité à trouver des velos pour nos deux garçons, prendre un rdv chez un ostéopathe pour nos deux grandes filles... Nous avons été super bien accueilli. Soul et Rumi leurs adolescents ont passé beaucoup de temps à jouer avec nos garçons. La cabane où nous avons dormi à une vue magnifique. Elle est confortable et très lumineuse. Nous avons fait parti de leur famille et nous avons rencontré leurs amis. Merci pour tout à vous deux ! Bianca, tu es une femme incroyable !

I had to leave early due to a personal issue, but the two days I spent here were wonderful. The place is beautiful, and so are the animals. Dea makes sure you have everything you need and is truly friendly and kind!

I stayed with Aine for six days, and my experience was truly beautiful. During that time, we did many different activities and worked on various tasks around the house, both on the computer and organizing day-to-day responsibilities. We went for morning walks, had wonderful conversations, and she gave me excellent advice on how to enjoy and make the most of Amsterdam. Living together was a real pleasure. I’m very grateful for this experience and I wholeheartedly recommend it to others.

I volunteered at this hostel for about 5-6 weeks, and I had a wonderful experience! David, Proxy, and Berny were all very kind and generous making sure we felt comfortable and supported. The volunteer work was very fair, and the food they gave us was some of the best I’ve eaten. The other volunteers were wonderful and I am so grateful for this opportunity. Georgetown is one of my favourite places, I can’t wait to come back! I highly recommend volunteering here!

Ghita was at fantastic help at my home. She was independent and a pleasure to have. She cared for my 2 sausage dogs really well and they loved having her also. She’s highly recommended.

We had the best experience with Alva and her family! These guys are just amazing and I will recommend them to anyone honestly. The work was clearly explained and honestly really okay, we arrived during the summer so we did a lot of fire bush prep but Alva and Duncan managed to make us do different things every day ! They were really understanding about our needs and we had quite a laugh with them !!! They were so respectful and welcoming and also we will definitely remember the tea breaks and also the delicious lunches you made for us. Special mention to Daisy, thanks for the delicious brownies and the nachos !! (#crackelackeling) and to Hattie who made us laugh so much 🩷🩷. The farm is amazing and the animals are so cute too. I had a wonderful experience volunteering with Jack. He is an amazing cook — every meal was delicious and clearly made with care and passion. His property is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained, which made the whole stay even more enjoyable. The work was fair, well organized, and exactly as described. Jack is a very chill, easygoing person who creates a relaxed and positive atmosphere. Communication was clear, and expectations were always reasonable. His partner is also an incredible person — kind, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful. From the very beginning, I felt comfortable and appreciated. I would highly recommend volunteering here to anyone looking for a supportive environment, great food, and great company.

Adam stayed with us for 3 weeks and frankly I will miss having him around. For me who likes to build and make things, he was a huge help. He basically built a deck with a few conversations and debates with me, usually improving the quality of the overall product. We also had productive fun, which I enjoyed mucking around with tree climbing and him chopping off some branches for firewood...Great guy highly recommended.

Benedetta and l stayed for 5 Days with Isurus Family. It was our first Workaway in Sri Lanka and it was a wonderful stay which we would recommend to anybody who likes to stay far away from tourists, traffic, who wants to get to know the locals and local food and nature and its beautiful animals! Isuru wasnt there in person at this time and his brother Chamal took very good care of us and Isuru was always available via phone. He even tried to bring us no spicy food which was very kind of him! The land they have is extremely beautiful, you step out of the house and you are surrounded by nature and tranquility and lovely neighbors. While our stay they were finishing the Café they were building and we helped with hanging some pictures. Isuru and his brothers have a vision for this place with a lot of beautiful ideas which we totally support and we are very sure about, that this place is gonna be something special, just as it is already, something very special. ✨ The kids of one of his brother are very cute, they joined us as soon as we got up, went for walks with us, we played together and one evening we even started with Karaoke. The family itself is extremely kind, more than welcoming and very respectful. Even tho communication was hard sometimes, especially with workers or friends of Isuru, we understood each other anyway and we laughed a lot together. We thank you and your family again for hosting us, it has been a pleasure and such a lovely time, with a lot of beautiful memories we made. And we are sure that your plan is going to work and it will be one of the most beautiful places on earth.✨ We would come back anytime and help you with whatever help you need! Also we recommend thi stay for solo female travelers since you have a private room, lots of kind people around you that take care of you. We never felt unsafe or unwelcomed!✨

We stayed with Ranui and Curtis for a week. The activities were very varied: gardening, collecting eggs, feeding the animals, horseback riding... we even had the chance to learn how to shear sheep! There was always something to do. We had the opportunity to learn more about Maori culture and also enjoyed some great conversations with the other Workaways. Thank you ! 🙃

Than you so much Ali for your hospitality! I really enjoyed your company and I could feel the love you have for your family, your animals, your land and for the desert!

Anja and Alberto have been absolutely spectacular hosts! Where do we even begin?! 💕✨ The accommodation is beautiful: we had a lovely room with a kitchenette and private bathroom, all thoughtfully cared. It honestly felt like staying in an Airbnb rather than with a Workaway host. The work was super fun and creative most of the time. Anja and Alberto always communicate the daily tasks clearly and are incredibly flexible and supportive when it comes to the workawayers’ interests and passions, and they are also incredibly generous. We shared such special moments together, while also having plenty of free time to enjoy Terrigal and the surrounding areas. A special mention goes to Pipo and the other four-legged friends. We grew so attached to Pipo! We already miss our walks and cuddles so much! 🐾 We stayed with them for one month. We arrived as guests, but over time we truly grew close to them and built a beautiful connection. This has been one of the best Workaway experiences we’ve had so far. We really hope to see them again soon. They are both wonderful people who welcomed us warmly and made us feel completely at home 🏠

I stayed with Helge and his Family in August 2025( sorry for beeing late) Helge hosted me last minute, for a couple of days and I felt really good at his place. Helge is a very nice guy and he is actually interested in you as a person. The first day i helped Helge to fix some straw mats under the roof in the outdoor kitchen. I did some wood cutting with a small chainsaw on another day and on day I was watching his two youngest (most adorable) sons one afternoon It was really good to stay there and dont worry you dont have to take showers outside. The profil could use a makeover. I slept in a sort of campervan , five minutes away which gave me a lot of privacy.(But i was also offered a room in the House and choose the wagon outside in the fields. It was a great experience, if you are in need of a place while passing through I can recommend Helge as a host. He is very open minded for al sorts of ideas. I liked his speaking prayers before meals🙏 Best wishes for you and your family

This was my first experience at a workaway and it was amazing. I was very lucky to get into this particular hostel. Jay was very gentle and patient. I will never forget how amazing he cooks; sometimes he made dinner for us, and it was absolutely delicious!
