Julie was an incredibly welcoming host, and her home was a beautiful space to rest, reflect, and enjoy Costa Rican nature. I especially loved going to the waterfall daily after completing my work, which was just a two minute walk from the house! I enjoyed my tasks, which consisted of playing with Julie's daughter, taking her on walks in the neighborhood, and processing cacao beans by hand. I also appreciated getting to know Julie and her partner and learning about their perspective on natural healing modalities. Overall, I had an amazing experience and am grateful for the opportunity to have been in such a special place and eat beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables.

We spent just under a week with Mauri, Anna and Mateo and loved it! We are so lucky to have stayed with them as our first work away experience. They were welcoming and friendly, and we settled in right away. We loved learning about their future life plans for their lovely family, and about their plans for their new home that they're building in Nicaragua. We are so happy that we got to contribute to this and we hope that we made as much of an impact as they did on us. Thank you so much for hosting us!

Marc was originally going to stay for three weeks, and it turned into three months. We had such a great experience with him living here and working on our sanctuary. Marc is SO conscientious, just remarkably so. He makes sure each task is done perfectly. He built a chicken coop while here that is likely to stand for 50 years. Not just that, he is so friendly, easy going, and just a great pleasure to be around. We noticed that everyone he met while here really liked him. I cannot imagine someone not getting along with Marc, he just has such a positive nature, great sense of humor, intelligent, kind. Our animals adored him, and he took such great care of them. He noticed small details about their health and well being, above and beyond what anyone would expect. He would not be going to far to say that he became family while he was here. We wish him all success in his future endeavors

Pierre is a walking treasure and represents in flesh everything what the ideas of this site is all about for hosts like me! The good words I have for Pierre just stumble into each other in order to be the first! I would like to share with all the people on this site the good time I had while Pierre was here. Purely talking about his work skills and the perfect system he has when helping was out of this world! Pierre helped making possible the coverage of the barn roof, which was such a relief seeing it done and so other important jobs. Cultural and language exchange with Pierre was a pleasure. Pierre is such a good teacher if you are serious and want to learn French as he would explain in details every grammar aspect. Pierre made hosting incredibly easy to me and now I consider him as a dear friend!

Emma and Emile were all around super wonderful and helpful volunteers here. They are both very kind and gentle people with positive attitudes and big smiles on their faces. They were self-motivated to take on some creative projects building some furniture with bamboo and scrap wood, and also a huge help preparing and planting new fruit trees and other kinds of garden work. They seemed to really enjoy the creative aspect of designing and building the furniture, overcoming challenges, and seeing their finished masterpieces :) They worked really well as a team and also got along with everyone here, Emma was a super go-getter and Emile played the guitar very nicely (which everyone enjoyed listening to). These are two wonderful people who are both great company and helpful volunteers, we would definitely recommend them for any future projects they would be interested in. Thanks so much Emma and Emile and best wishes on your adventures 😊🙏

Diana was phenomenal in every sense of the word. Her yoga sessions with mentees and our partner schools brought a refreshing balance of calm, focus, and energy to the girls. Beyond the structured lessons, she went the extra mile by introducing creative activities that kept the children active, engaged, and genuinely excited to participate. Her presence created a safe and uplifting space where the girls could connect with their bodies, manage stress, and build confidence. The impact she made across the schools and within the community was deeply felt, and her contribution will continue to reflect in the wellbeing and growth of our beneficiaries long after her sessions ended.

Aisie has been an absolute joy to work with, especially as we explored online options for volunteers who couldn’t physically travel to our community. What started as a simple adjustment quickly turned into a genuinely exciting journey of building an advanced curriculum for our girls’ program, and Aisie was right at the center of it all. Her patience could qualify for an award, her attention to detail is almost suspiciously good, and she communicates so clearly that meetings actually end on time. She’s incredibly idea-driven and, just when you think she’s done, she’s already asking, “What else can I help with?” We’re honestly at the point where we’re not just appreciating her contributions, we’re seriously considering giving her a formal role in the organization before someone else smart does. All jokes aside, you are truly an amazing person, and the work you’re doing is making the world a better place, one extra task at a time. Keep shining.

I spent a week at the Foundation and what can I say: it was simply wonderful! It’s a place where you can truly feel that the children are happy, eager to learn, and that you can become an active part of it. I was moved several times by the amazing personalities of the children and the visits to the schools were great as well! Nandini and Jyoti are inspiring people — they put their whole heart into the project, but also into supporting the volunteers. So many great conversations, shared funny moments, and oh my God, the food they prepare every day is just WOW! I can only recommend volunteering here and would come back anytime! ♥️

Vittoria and Nikolai are amazing! They were open and shared what was going on with them, even the things that were uncomfortable. They were willing to support with all the tasks and initiating by themselves as well. They brought beautiful fresh energy to our community that all of us appreciated greatly. If you ever want to return again, you are more than welcome, you will be forever part of our family. All the love ❤️
