    Description

Akwaaba! We are so happy you landed here on our profile page. We are a nonprofit organization based in the beautiful Kwahu region of Ghana, dedicated to empowering young girls to reach their full potential. Founded in 2019, our mission is to guide, inspire, and equip girls with essential life skills, self-esteem, and digital literacy to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities. We'll provide you with as much information as possible but don't hesitate to reach out if you still have questions.

Our flagship program is a one-year-seven-month mentorship program where we engage girls from junior high and senior high schools in transformative sessions focused on self-development, entrepreneurship, and digital technology. Through tailored workshops, sister sessions, and hands-on training, we help young girls boost their confidence, acquire practical skills, and connect to opportunities they never imagined were within reach.

Our project thrives on the passion of volunteers and collaborators who want to leave a meaningful impact. We’ve partnered with local communities, and schools to make mentorship, education, and empowerment a reality for girls in rural Kwahu, Ghana.

    Accommodation

We provide a simple yet comfortable accommodation for our volunteers. You will have a private single room with essentials to make your stay convenient. The room includes:

A bed with clean bedsheets and a mosquito net for a restful sleep.
A ceiling or standing fan to keep you cool during warm days.
A chair and a small table for your personal use.
While the room does not have air conditioning, Kwahu has a lovely, cool temperature in the mornings and evenings, so usually, air conditioning is not needed in this region. Your room will be clean and secure, providing a cozy space to relax after a day of activities. You'll also have access to shared bathroom facilities and a welcoming environment in the local community. This setup allows you to enjoy an authentic experience in Ghana.

Breakfast and dinner will also be provided. The food will be mainly local food you can adjust to and other foods volunteers will prefer. 3 hours a day is also fine with us. Our events are more on a weekend basis but weekdays can also be used for online administrative activities.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Kwahu is a good location for first time volunteers coming to Ghana as we fall between the Capital Accra and the second largest city Kumasi. Its easier to get transport to all parts of Ghana. Transportation is mainly taxi within the Kwahu area which is affordable and we also have small busses with aircondition and trotros heading to the big cities.

If you want to read more about what locally can be explored, you can visit us on instagram or their website : ask us for the link

We find it very important that you have respect for the locals and their culture. We love to receive Workawayers who are open and curious to learn and don't come with a "know it better" attitude .this project is an opportunity to share your skill and to learn simultaneously from the locals and the Ghanaian culture.

locally we have a lot of sight seeings , hiking trails , waterfalls, caves etc
