    Description

I have started a business making ceremonial cacao and chocolate and it’s a lot of work. I have a 16 month old daughter which makes chocolate making challenging. We are conscious and holistic people. It is important for us that anyone who comes to live with us also has those values and only uses natural products.

We live in Ojochal, Puntarenas, in a beautiful and serene location surrounded by nature. There is a beautiful waterfall and creek next door (see photos). We are not too far from the village but far away from the noise and chaos. Everyone who comes here says how quiet it is. We have a spacious and beautiful home with a pool and we are located in a gated community so it's really safe. It's the perfect place to discover the healing nature of Costa Rica and come back to yourself.

We aspire to live in community, and the dream we are actively working on is to live in an intentional community where we can support one another, share resources, live from the land and thrive! We love community gatherings, singing, dancing and spending time in nature.

I am not scheduling workawayers months ahead of time because that's not how I work. So check back, my calendar is closed but it might open up.

You will learn to make chocolate and work with cacao as medicine. Also, since we live in such a beautiful location, it's a great place to come back home to yourself. People who live with us learn a lot from our lifestyle and feel nourished from the experience.

At the moment the MAIN task involves cracking and winnowing cacao nibs. I might only ask this of you. It’s not hard work just tedious. You can work whatever time of day you want. Otherwise support with dishes is appreciated. I might need some help with tempering chocolate too but not sure right now.

You will have your own bedroom with a queen bed and your own private bathroom. The bedroom is very dark and quiet, but expect our daughter to be up at 5:30am.

We will provide food for workawayers to make their own breakfast. We usually eat dinner as a family. The food is organic and healthy.

On weekends workawayers must be responsible for feeding themselves by arriving with their own food. They can of course use the kitchen as they like.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We don’t have a car. You must be responsible for your own transport. It’s a 15 min drive to the ocean and 30 min from Uvita. It's the right place for someone who wants to live slowly and just be, not seeking to do all sorts of stuff all the time because it can be difficult to get around.
