I stayed with Justine in January and I felt welcomed and comfortable in her home. I helped with house cleaning and weeding. Justine took me to see the redwoods at night and to see glow worms! I had a lovely time.

Jo and Ksenia were so nice. They brought lots of happiness and joy to the students. Exchanging the culture with these two were also great memories too. Hope to work with you all again sometime Cheers Rifqi

I spent two weeks with Lynne and Arthur. It was a wonderful time. The bus to sleep in is perfect. The food is delicious. The work is very satisfying. And the view is fantastic. Definitely recommended.

We stayed with Ute for approximately three weeks and we wish it could have lasted longer. It was so much fun, we really liked spending time with Ute. There are various ways to help: baking, computer support, gardening, cleaning. Besides working, there was a perfect mix between spending time together learning about Japanese customs (especially during the new year season) and having our own space to retreat. The place is beautiful and quiet, highly recommended if you want a break from city life. We are really grateful as it was our first workaway experience and it exceeded our expectations. We hope to stay in touch and meet Ute again ! 🤗 Daniel & Carole

I spent a week in Chikomba School sitting and helping in different classes, interacting with students and teachers. I really enjoyed my time being around the community. Philip even picked me up on the first day from Nkhata Bay, which I really appreciated. He and the family are great hosts and took such good care of me during the week I was there. The kids are so fun to be around, very helpful in everything I needed and very welcoming. Philip is a really nice guy, a very good communicator, very clear and direct, always polite and considerate. I stayed in a spare room at Philip's house, simple and functional with lots of space to spread and hang clothes etc. Philip even gave me a key to lock my room if I wanted to. Breakfast was delicious, cooked by Philip and Gift in the mornings, really delicious and filling. There was always eggs for protein, such as omelette with bread and guacamole, French toast, cassava, or chips. The school is about a 30min walk (or 10min motorbike ride) from the house, which is actually very beautiful as there are always views of the surrounding hills around. The school day starts at about 7:30am, so I was up at 6am, ready to leave home at about 7am. Lunch was at school, things like rice and beans or nsima and vegetables. The school day then finished at 2pm, after which I would walk home or spend some time with the students. There is a beautiful beach about 30min hike down the hill from Philips' house, and I went there a couple of times for a swim. The main besxh Chikale is about 45min walk from the school too. You're very free to roam about, I always just made sure I let someone from the family know if I was going to be out for a long time. Dinner at home was nsima with something like greens, chicken, or fish. The last day Philip baked us a cake, which was such a nice gesture (and I'm especially grateful as it was my main meal on the next long travel day I had back to the border!). It's such a nice community and a nice family, I would definitely recommend!

Dina is an extraordinary person and the opportunity to spend time with her and the rare chance to be in up in the beautiful hills above Saulxures-sur-Moselotte was wonderful. We had almost ten days of real serenity and calm. Dina's intelligence and sensitivity was a balm to the soul. The work was enjoyable and Dina was very clear with her needs. Our work was appreciated and the jobs that were required of us were enjoyable. The surroundings are beautiful and Dina is invested in the landscape; we learned a lot from her about the history and the nature of the place. We had many lovely walks in the surrounding woods and on the country roads in the Hautes Voges. Accommodations are comfortable and the setting is very peaceful. A wonderful experience and we shared a lot of laughs! Thanks so much, we hope we'll get to come back one day!

I spent 10 days volunteering here over the 2025 festive Christmas period. Francis was very flexible with me changing my arrival and departure days a few times, due to some unforeseen circumstances that's resulted in some changes in my schedule. Francis, Aidah and the kids were very welcoming, the kids will love you from the start. The programme itself is very flexible, we organised and played some games with the kids, I even did some dancing lessons with them. If you have any ideas of specific things you'd like to do with them, speak to Francis and he'll be very open to this. If on the other hand you want to spend time with the kids but don't have any ideas, also speak to Francis, as there are plenty of materials and ideas for things to do with them. While we were there it was Christmas holidays, therefore the nursery school (on which we based our activities) was closed. The school is just a short 10-15min walk from the house. We were there normally for 10am; the first session was 10am-12pm, then we would walk back home for lunch, and then attend 2-4pm for the second session (but you will determine and clarify this with Francis). Breakfast is usually arranged by Aidah or the amazing Jennifer, and it can be anything from the nearby shops, from sambusas to yogurt and cake. Speak with Aidah for this; sometimes you might need to get breakfast for yourself and Aidah will compensate you. Lunch is usually something like rice and vegetables or matoke, cooked by Aidah. After the programme, you are free to go and do wherever you want. Dinner is around 8pm and it's usually a takeaway, such as rolex with chips or chicken with chips, or anything else from the nearby street food or supermarkets. You might need to help with taking care of the young kids at home at night, but speak to Francis to clarify any concerns. Kigungu is a very lively village, with many bars to go to at night (Magala is definitely the highlight to enjoy and party to Ugandan and other African music!). You can walk around the airstrip, with beautiful views of the lake, birds, fishing boats and sunsets. It was a nice place to spend Christmas and New Year! There are many small shops, Airtel/MNT agents, street food stalls, bodas to take you to Entebbe for 5k (about 15' ride away). Entebbe itself is very nice and chilled, with many restaurants and cafes to enjoy, and some small beaches. Thank you Francis for your hospitality and support!

Thanks for your kindness and support our school. It was a great time working with you and sorry for not being at school as I was being busy handling out to the front line soldiers during the conflicts. Actually, we are doing our best to keep the school open and running free for all the children in the rural villages. Million thanks to volunteers especially Mr. Zack for your time and support spending 2 weeks with us. Welcome all volunteers who wishes to practice teaching English or just to share knowledge of English with poor children here. We open to host everyone. And now really looking for more people to join us. And recommend Mr. Zack to others as well. Thanks and the best wishes to you always, Sovavannarith, Family and Students

It was a wonderful experience. Min is a wonderful person, very sweet and always available if you have any problems. (We didn't have any, by the way.) It was rewarding to have the opportunity to spend time here, helping the kids and children learn English and learning about the local culture. You can really see Min's passion for teaching and moving this project forward, and that's fantastic. It was nice to be part of this "family," even if it was for a short time. We highly recommend this experience!

My stay at foundation was incredible. From the start Jyoti and Nandini made me feel like I was at home, eating together every meal, which was delicious and home cooked for me and the other volunteers. When I was there it was a time of holidays and celebrations so we did two visits at the local schools, while the rest of the time children would come at the foundation in the afternoons to study and play. Especially loved our visit all together at the buddha temple, the laughters, the card games and the sharing of thei indian culture. Go there if you want a cultural exchange and really be of help for the children, who will learn from you whatever skill you offer with your heart, even if it's just joy and laughter. Thanks again guys for hosting me, all the best with the upcoming school 🫶

An absolutely brilliant and rewarding Workaway, while it's hard work at first the reward of caring for the animals and getting to bond with them makes it all worth while. Brad as a host is fantastic and caring and genuinely such a good person who was an absolute pleasure to meet. All in all wish I could go back asap and sad to leave.

What a great first Workaway experience! Michael and Faye are incredibly generous and warm and I felt welcome from the very beginning. They took me on a stunning hike in the Blue Mountains National Park, shared lots of local insights and helped me plan my onward travels. Their lifestyle is really inspiring and I’m grateful for the chance to have gotten a glimpse of it ☺️

I could only spend a week at this hideaway from the busy city and it was definitely not enough! Being in the middle of the rainforest and waking up to a bitcherbird outside the window has been such a great experience. Our time was spent getting the house back to old shape as it was empty for bit, walking along the creek, exploring secret waterholes with amzazing clear water and ropes to jump in from and most of all wandering through and learning about the rainforest and its inhabitants. David has been a wonderful host, shining through his knowledge of native (and invasive) plants and animals and his open way of going towards people. My Highlights were definitely seeing a cassowarie just next to us on the road, the full moon rise at the beach just a short walk away, climbing up a tunnel made by a strangler fig older than me, painting with the stones at the creek and enjoying a variety of new icecream flavours and fruits from the market I've never heard of before. Thank you for such an amazing time!

Martha and I spent six weeks with this lovely family. We were made to feel very welcome, and our dietary requirements (vegan and vegetarian) were no problem at all. We had our own room opposite the children's room and shared a bathroom with the child. Our tasks included housework (vacuuming and mopping, keeping the children's room and bathroom clean, doing his laundry, tidying up the dishwasher and kitchen, and taking out the trash) and occasionally spending afternoons or evenings with the child and picking him up from or taking him to daycare. It was very varied and we always had enough time for ourselves. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we look back on that time with great gratitude. Martha and Lotti

I had a great two weeks with Sovannarith and his family. His wife is an excellent cook and they would get me whatever I wanted for breakfast at the local market in the morning. There were other volunteers there who were all super nice. I had my own room with a comfortable bed. This was my first time teaching so it was definitely a challenge, especially with the language barrier but i only taught for 3 hours per day. Everyone in the village seemed very friendly. It was a very fun and interesting cultural experience that I can recommend to anyone.

I really enjoyed my stay here, it was one of my favourite Workaways! Akino is really kind and helpful and makes you feel right at home. All the kids are really nice and good at English, and getting to do the activities they chose each week was really fun. Doing things like playing, singing, dancing and arts and crafts really made me feel like a kid again. I got to plan my own activity which was Harry Potter themed. I enjoyed showing everyone British food and getting to try some veggie versions of Japanese food that I never got to try before. I also got to speak with the parents, it was really interesting to teach eachother about our cultures. Isahaya is a nice little city, although it is difficult to get around with public transport, it's easy to walk instead. Sometimes the parents offer to give you a ride somewhere which is super kind of them. Overall this workaway was really fulfilling, there is a really good balance between working and free time and the work didn't feel like work most of the time! I would love to come back again! Thank you Akino-san!

My experience with Roberto in thgeir Hostel was truly amazing, I don't have enough words to describe it. The work was chill and really social you never get bored. You can enjoy your time by playing pool with other guests and volonteers and the hostel, sharing meals with your new friends in the living room or simply going to the city by yourself and explore all of the opportunities that Baños can offer you. A lot of activities like rafting or canyoning with a cheap price, everything is chill and you can go hiking as well in all the mountains of Baños. I am grateful for this beautiful experience I lived in this volonteering ! Thank you Roberto and all the team for your kindness and your support in my journey it was Increibleeee !

It was a great time. I had a lot of time with myself and my thoughts. The thoughts are growing with the jungle, sometimes I felt like I had become just another creeping plant. As time passed my senses sharpened, and I began to understand the jungle- to recognize the noises, the animals, the paths, and the beautiful cenote. The work was good, and I had plenty of space and time to be creative. Meria is super cool!! She was there for anything I needed and beyond. We walked together with the dogs, laughed, and shared conversations about interesting topics. I felt completely welcome, at home, and free to be independent.🌌 Thank you!!
