Description
Every year, in the beginning of November, takes place, just some days after the official "kiwindima" (kiwifruit harvest), a special private event, not a business but an international family-and-friends private kiwifruit pickup weekend , a real full-weekend of activity, typical gastronomy and trueth companionship, space for new friendship/cultural exchange, involving men and women, between locals and travellers/visitors, including farmers, economists, architects, doctors and health profissionals, lawyers, finantial advisers, businessman, teachers, students and other interested young and open-mind persons.
We are a kiwifruit plantation pioneer project, inserted around a family-owned typical portuguese old farmhouse, with old histories and artifacts. Present-day family main jobs belongs to architecture / health care and this project was assumed as a new agricultural challenge.
Nearly 3 ha / 4 km of plant-lines and quite near Aveiro city (5 Km south, direction Aveiro-Coimbra highway). With nearly ten years of existence, is a pioneer project in this region and one of the biggest.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
Each participant just has to pick up the kiwifruit, manual and stand-up, in a kindly way, for some hours during a day, and with various typical regional and delicious coffeebreaks. It´s a light activity, for all ages (from 8 till 80), that doesn´t need special skills; the technical brieffing takes only 5 minutes. We recommend water-resistant shoes and light wear, according to weather forecast (10 to 15 Celsius degrees, average temperature).
