Help in the house
Penny is Tasmanian and loves exploring her native state , so we are happy to roam the coast, rivers and bush with you. We visit the beach almost daily because we and our dogs adore it. Penny is always ready to discuss her obsession- climate change. Steve would love to tell you about turbines and Charles Algernon Parsons.
It would depend on your desires and strengths. Should you enjoy cooking then we are happy to oblige with eating. If sparkling clean windows satisfies any obsessive tendency then we can provide spaniel-smudged windows.
If you prefer to be outdoors then we would be grateful for help gardening.
We have a lovely century old wooden farm house, with three spare bedrooms, in which you would share our living areas. There is a separate bathroom for Workaways. Should you be allergic to dogs we can only advise that the air is thick with the hair of three spaniels.
We are about 75 minutes drive from Cradle Mountain.
Ulverstone and adjacent beaches are 20 minutes drive north and Leven Canyon is a similar distance south west.
Locally, within 5 km, is Wings Wildlife Park, Gunns Plains Caves, Preston Falls and the northern end of the canyon.
We have a private 1.5 km stretch of the River Leven which has brown and rainbow trout but a fishing license is needed.
There are also platypus in the farm dam
There is no public transport but we have 2 cars and frequently go exploring.
To avoid any distress with animal lovers it should be noted that we are primarily a beef producer so all cattle on the farm are used in meat production
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
