    Description

We live on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW, a 15min drive from beaches, in a lovely valley, surrounded by wildlife.

General duties could include housework, gardening and lawn maintenance, clearing weeds, cooking, painting, helping me with my small design and photography business, and other odd chores. We have chickens for free-range eggs and are building a veggie patch. Geoff is a teacher and is studying Sustainability and Bush Regeneration and is interested in Permaculture. Ali runs a Photography and Design business from home and is also a casual high school teacher.
Our home is in the process of different stages of renovation so we always need some building work too. We have two (three for 2026) lovable, affectionate dogs who also need occasional hugs. One of our sons lives part-time at home too, but is often away working mid week.

We have a spare room with a double bed and we provide linen and towels and all meals. It is in the downstairs of our home with another bathroom and living space.

Guests usually work from after breakfast till lunch, have the afternoon off and then help for around an hour with cooking/clearing up at night. However this is flexible and may vary on different days.

We can accommodate singles and couples and can pick up from our local station, Ourimbah. We also have a car that guests can use, pending your licence etc.

Ali loves family, music, travelling, meeting people from other countries, trying new food, reading books, watching KDramas and wants to see BTS in concert in 2026 :) Geoff loves sport, cycling, swimming, going to the beach, gardening - and also music, family and travelling - he's going to the World Cup in 2026.

We live in a natural bushland setting surrounded by local birds and animals. Locally we have many beautiful bush walks and a Reptile park (mini Australian animal zoo).
You will interact and eat with our family (and the people who come and go here) and see how a pretty typical Aussie family lives :) At the moment we only have 1 son living at home - with extended family staying at times.

We have a spare room in our home, with access to our downstairs bathroom and an extra living space. You will share the kitchen and dining space and back deck with us. Many backpackers have said how much they enjoyed camping on our land, waking to the sound of all the amazing birdlife we have :)

    What else ...

We live in a beautiful area of Australia, the Central Coast of NSW. With beautiful beaches a 15 min drive away
and state forests and bays close by. We live in a quiet area, with some lovely native birdlife around. It seems like a peaceful retreat yet our area has a multitude of shopping centres, cafes, hospitals and other great facilities. We are very close to two major cities - both Sydney and Newcastle are an hour's drive away. We are also on the train line for easy access. It's a 20 minute walk to the train station if you don't have a car. We can also drop you there or lend you our car :)
We have a university close by that is a good place to study.
The Australian Reptile Park has an abundance of native Australian animals that guests love to see.
