    Description

Hi, our organization is a small unit which was started by me for the upliftment of local people and utilizing locally procured wool. My wife and me had started this project in 1993 and now our two sons are helping us develop it further. We are working together for strengthening and building up the Traditional Knowledge System.
We are a sustainable and fashionable brand that focuses on winter wear as it is located in the Indian Himalayas in the beautiful Kullu valley along river Beas in Himachal Pradesh. We are working with local men and women using ages old traditional techniques for knitting and weaving.
We have both Indian and Foreign clients and we aim to work with various kind of wool for apparel as well as home furnishing. We use techniques like Hand Spinning, Hand Knitting, Hand Weaving & Vegetable Dyes.
We have a total of 45 people working here
28 women who are mostly doing spinning, knitting, crochet etc
11 men working on traditional handlooms
6 men working on wool and finishing the final product

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our small work shop is in the northern part of Himachal Pradesh, a beautiful valley known as the Kullu valley. The valley is connected well with road and air (No railways).

There is a lot to learn in terms of crafts, vegetation, travelling (lots of adventure activity that can be taken), culture (As it is a Himalayan village various cultural activity keeps happening every now and then) and food etc.

Their are so many nature parks with the Beas river. For transportation you can opt for auto (Tuk Tuk) otherwise public buses are always available for each and every place. Each hill of Himachal has its own beliefs and temples like Bijli Mahadev and Hidimba Devi Temple. Besides this Kullu has its own variety of food such as SIDDU which is a must try.
