  • Description

Hi, my name is Eva. I'm from Belgium, and I am living in the beautiful nature of the hillside between El Campello/San Juan Playa (beach) and Jijona (which is 20 min. from Alicante, Costa Blanca).
I am surrounded by a few rescue animals from my legal non-profit rescue center (horses, dogs, cats) and other wild animals in nature (lots of birds, geckos, wild pigs, etc...).

I am looking for help from min. 2-max. 4 HANDY men and/or Handy ladies (2/3 friends or a couple) (knowledge of electrics or plumming or carpentry or metalwork to repair the fences, tiler, ...) to help me to build an outside kitchen, redo and repair fences, lay floors, do lots of weeding, painting, and cleaning at the horses once a week, etc.
I will also need some help with pruning and planting trees on the land again but only in the fall/winter.
If you are not used to physical work, this is not for you, so please do not apply then.

Just to be clear, you can hug and cuddle the animals and you will not be helping with the rescue animals as it is all automized/organized.

We live remote and off-grid using solar energy for hot water and electricity.
We appreciate silence and being one with nature.
I work full-time online and teach several hours a day online. There is no WIFI available at your house.
And as I work full time, I prefer couples (Min. 2 max. 4 people) so they can entertain each other as I am away working. It is also easier for many tasks to be with 3 than just 2.

You have your own self-contained cottage house with all amenities and with a small swimming pool.

Stays are 1 week to start with to see if this is a fit and can be prolonged up to 3 weeks.

Please read my profile well before contacting me. Thank you!

I speak Dutch, French, English, Spanish, and German and we can talk in any of these languages.
I am an Advanced Photonic Therapy instructor and can teach you a course in that as I use it every day on the rescue animals.
I live in beautiful surroundings where you can enjoy walks in nature for hours without meeting anyone.
Alicante is close by where you can visit the Santa Bárbara Castle, an ancient fortress with panoramic views, the is an archaeological museum and a contemporary art museum, a beautiful casco Antiguo, the old part of Alicante which is like a village at the centre of the town, you have a beautiful basilic of Santa Maria, lots of beaches, boat trips, visit of the Island of Tabarca, beach sports, the is Elche Palmeral, the largest palm grove in Europe, etc.
The beaches of El Campello and San Juan Playa are 15 minutes away by car, with lots of sports to do and nice bars for a drink and tapas too of course.

  • Accommodation

Separate property with 1 bedroom house (1 bedroom with double bed, living room, kitchen, bathroom). Solar-powered.
It also has a separate wooden chalet (5*5) with couch-bed & bathroom for 2 persons. Sea view.
A dog or cat is allowed too. The land is totally fenced off.
Internet connection is very limited. No WIFI. No TV.
There is always food available and is adapted to the season. In summer it will often be salads and other fresh veggies from the garden en fruits from the trees in the garden for example. And the rescue chicks give fresh eggs every day too, haha (well...not at the moment though).
I usually only eat one larger meal a day at lunchtime and at night maybe an apple but the fridge in the separate cottage will be filled with all the necessities so you will never be hungry at all.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Remote location from public transport so you need your own transport as I work fulltime I can't be driving you around in your free time.
By car: 6 minutes to the village of Jijona, 15 minutes from the beaches of El Campello and San Juan Playa. 25 minutes from the center of Alicante with musea, art, festivals. 30 minutes to Benidorm.
Lovely mountain villages surrounding Jijona like Torremanzanas, Sella, Relleu, el Castell de Guadalest...

A dog and or a cat are welcome if they are social to other animals, well behaved and flea free. One of my rescues already got bitten by a workawayers' dog and once I have been left with a house filled with fleas by a workawayer in 2020. As you can imagine, I never ever want any repitition of that. The land is fenced off.
