    Description

    Hello, my name is Eva.

Before sending me a message, please take a moment to read my full profile carefully. It will save both of us time and help us know from the beginning whether this is a good match.

I live in a beautiful, peaceful hillside area between El Campello, San Juan Playa and Jijona, about 20 minutes from Alicante on the Costa Blanca. I am surrounded by nature, with birds, geckos, wild pigs and a few rescue animals from my legal non profit rescue centre, including horses and a dog.

The help I need is mainly practical outdoor help, such as painting, moving hay for the horses, cleaning, repairing fences, weeding and general maintenance around the property.

You are very welcome to interact with the animals, give them love and enjoy being around them. However, you will not be responsible for the direct care of the rescued animals. Their feeding and daily care are already organised and automated.

Please understand that this is a remote, off-grid lifestyle. We rely on solar energy for electricity and hot water. This is a place for people who love peace, nature, simplicity and tranquillity and are fit as the work is physically.

We will work together in the mornings. In the afternoons and evenings, I work full-time online and teach several hours a day, so I need people who are independent and comfortable entertaining themselves.

For this reason, I prefer couples or two friends travelling together, so you can keep each other company when I am working. I also find that a team of three, myself and two helpers, is much more efficient and enjoyable for many of the tasks here.

Please note that I cannot accept single men.

During your stay, you will have your own self-contained cottage with the necessary amenities and a small swimming pool.

The initial stay is one week, so we can see if it is a good fit for everyone. If it works well, the stay can be extended for up to two weeks.

Please contact me only after carefully reading my profile and ensuring that this lifestyle, location, and type of help truly suit you.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    I cannot help with visas.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Travellers can benefit from rich cultural exchange by experiencing the real Spain, not just the tourist side.

I speak Dutch, French, English, Spanish and German, so we can communicate in any of these languages. This can also be a lovely opportunity for travellers to practise or improve a language in a relaxed, natural way.

I am also an Advanced Photonic Therapy instructor, and I use this method regularly in daily life, including with my rescue animals. For those who are interested, I can share knowledge about this gentle, non-invasive therapy and teach you more about how it can support wellbeing, pain relief and healing in both humans and animals.

You will also have the opportunity to experience a peaceful off-grid lifestyle in beautiful natural surroundings. I live in the hills, surrounded by nature, where you can walk for hours without meeting anyone. It is a perfect place for people who want to slow down, reconnect with themselves, enjoy silence, and experience a simpler way of living close to the land.

I also love sharing the local area with my visitors. We will do several cultural outings together to places such as Jijona/Xixona, Castalla and other beautiful villages and surroundings. I will also take you into the mountains, show you some of the local landscapes, and invite you to dine at a Spanish restaurant so you can enjoy the local food, atmosphere, and way of life.

Alicante is also close by and offers many wonderful places to discover, such as Santa Bárbara Castle, an ancient fortress with panoramic views over the city and sea. There is also an archaeological museum, a contemporary art museum, a beautiful old town, the Basilica of Santa María, lovely beaches, boat trips, and the possibility of visiting the island of Tabarca.

The beaches of El Campello and San Juan Playa are only about 15 minutes away by car. There you can enjoy the sea, beach walks, water sports, beach bars, drinks, tapas, and the relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle.

Nearby, you can also visit the Palmeral of Elche, the largest palm grove in Europe, and many other beautiful places in the Costa Blanca area.

For me, cultural exchange means sharing life, stories, food, languages, nature, laughter, learning, and meaningful conversations. My hope is that you leave not only with memories of a beautiful place, but also with new skills, new insights, and a deeper feeling of connection with nature, animals, local culture and yourself.

  • Help

    Help

I am specifically looking for at least two handy, practical people, such as two friends or a couple, who enjoy being active outdoors and working with their hands. The help is mainly for simple, safe, non-specialist tasks around the property, garden, land, and animal areas.

The tasks may include repairing small storm damage from the winter 2025 to 2026 storms, helping with simple fence maintenance, painting, extensive weeding, clearing outdoor areas, moving hay, weekly manure removal, cleaning paddocks, collecting wood, removing stones, keeping things tidy and organised, and assisting me with general outdoor maintenance.

This is practical, physical help, so you need to be reasonably fit and happy to help outdoors. If you are not used to physical tasks, this probably will not be the right place for you.

We will work together, with a focus on sharing skills, learning, cultural exchange, teamwork, and enjoying a peaceful off-grid lifestyle in nature. Workawayers will not be asked to do any specialist trade tasks.

During the autumn and winter seasons, there may also be a need for help with pruning, planting trees, clearing branches, and other seasonal land maintenance.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will stay in your own house, which includes a one-bedroom with a double bed, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The property is powered solely by solar energy, so it is best suited to those who enjoy a peaceful, conscious off-grid lifestyle.
There is a 5x3m pool next to the house.

Outside the winter season, there is also a separate wooden chalet of 5 x 5 metres with a sofa bed and bathroom, suitable for two people. It has a beautiful sea view and offers an extra private space to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

The accommodation has a radio, but no TV. There is WiFi available, usually at around 50/12 Mbps, which is suitable for normal internet use.

Food is always available and varies with the season. In summer, you can enjoy fresh salads and vegetables from the garden, as well as fruit from the trees when available. The fridge will be stocked with basic essentials, so you will always have food available.

This is a simple, natural and peaceful place, ideal for people who appreciate nature, tranquillity, independence and the beauty of living close to the land.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

This is a remote countryside location, away from public transport, so you really need your own transport. I work full time online in the afternoon/evening, so I cannot drive you around during your free time.

With your own car, however, you will have many beautiful places to explore.

The village of Jijona/Xixona is only about 6 minutes away by car. It is a traditional Spanish village, well known for its turrón, with local shops, cafés, restaurants and a relaxed village atmosphere.

The beaches of El Campello and San Juan Playa are about 15 minutes away by car. You can enjoy swimming, walking along the promenade, water sports, beach bars, tapas, restaurants and the Mediterranean lifestyle.

Alicante city centre is about 25 minutes away by car. There you can visit Santa Bárbara Castle, the old town, museums, art galleries, festivals, markets, shops, restaurants and the beautiful harbour area.

Villayojosa and Benidorm is about 30/40 minutes away by car, with beaches, entertainment, restaurants, nightlife, theme parks and many activities for those who enjoy a more lively atmosphere.

There are also many beautiful mountain villages and scenic places around Jijona, such as Torremanzanas, Sella, Relleu and El Castell de Guadalest. These are lovely for day trips, photography, mountain roads, local food, village walks and discovering a more traditional side of Spain.

In your free time, you can go hiking, explore nature, visit beaches, discover local villages, enjoy tapas, visit markets, go sightseeing, take photos, read, rest by the pool, or simply enjoy the silence and peace of the land.

This place is best suited to independent travellers who enjoy nature, peace, freedom, their own space and the opportunity to explore the Costa Blanca by car.
