    Description

We're Davide and Marta, we bought an old family Trullo (a traditional stone house) with land full of pine trees, that we want to bring back to life, to create a beautiful nature place that is open to artistic projects, workshops, dance, concerts, meetings. We're both artists, Davide works as a theatre actor/director, organizer of Contact Improvisation dance events and also web developer, Marta is a painter working with textiles and natural dying techniques We are also passionate about good quality teas, so if you stay with us we can enjoy together tea tasting: drinking a good tea in nature is like meditation :)

The travellers will experience the life in Puglia countryside, and enjoy staying in an old and traditional Trullo immersed into a pine trees wood, learning the traditional maintenance procedures of such characteristic house. They can explore this interesting and naturalistic part of southern Italy as well, full of enchanting small towns and large clean beaches.
We speak English, Italian, Polish, Spanish, so any language practicing and exchange is welcome.

The place is in quite good conditions, we want to refresh it and create a good standard of living, and enjoyment of the nature around. In order to do this, we are looking for volunteers that can help us in:
    - cleaning the green spaces
    - cutting grass
    - planting flowers and plants
    - decoration of interior and exterior spaces
    - painting the walls and roof of the Trullo (it has to be refreshed every year)
and many other small duties: if you have some experience as plumber or electrician can also be very useful for us!

We plan to do all this during this spring; we also look for someone that can cook vegetarian meals for everyone during this period.
Ideally we would like handy people, creative and pro-active, a bit artistic maybe :)

We'd love to get help from passionate people, travelers, nature lovers or artists to share the life in our trullo, meals, experiences and beautiful sunny days in southern Italy nature.
The volunteers will work with us 5 days per week in the morning, for no more than 5 hours a day; at lunch we eat together, and the rest of the day is free. You can enjoy staying in beautiful italian countryside, visit the nearby Martina Franca town, or explore the wider Puglia area, including many free beaches! (we may provide bikes, but own car is recommended to get more far)

    Accommodation

Our guests can sleep in the Trullo, we have 2 extra rooms with 4 single beds or 2 double beds. We provide bedding and towels. You are also free to camp on the land between the pine trees if you wish!
The bathroom and kitchen is shared with us. We also have a big living room with fireplace where you can relax, and hammocks beetwen the trees where you can rest enjoying the nature.
We provide typical italian breakfast, and vegetarian lunch (that will be cooked by us or one of the volunteers). Dinner is self catering, or shared with common funding; you can of course also go out for dinner (town is 2km away, we provide some bikes).
The house is in the wild nature so you can enjoy trees, meadow, birds singing and beautiful sunsets on the rooftop! Sometimes you can meet also a fox and small wild animals that live in our land. There are many nice paths for quiet walks around many Trullos, farms, fields with cows and other domestic animals - our neighbours have horses so it's also beautiful just to watch them :)

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our Trullo is located in the countryside of Martina Franca, 2km away from the center; Martina is a touristic town famous for the traditional Trullo houses, and has a beautiful old district all made in white stone. The town is full of restaurants, groceries, mozzarella shops, bakeries, supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, any kind of shop. It's possible to reach it on foot, but we may provide bikes as well.
Sometimes we may invite our volunteers to join us for some special events, or trips around the area.
Within 30mins distance by car you can reach the closest seaside. Having your car is recommended for maximum independency (parking is possible in the peoperty or nearby); we may arrange, having availability of time, a trip with our car for max 3 people to enjoy seaside together.
We both like so much to spend time with international guests (for a few years Davide has run a big hostel close to Naples) and exchange our knowledge and experience, but our availability for shared activities depends of course on the amount of work we will have to do.
