Description
We are a small family owned organic cocoa farm running on a cooperative/fairtrade basis on the island of Grenada in the Caribbean. We are now making chocolate as well as running the farm. We live in a beautiful place and you get your own little house which is good for a single or couple, overlooking the Caribbean sea which is only a two minute walk away. As much free food from the estate as you want plus fresh fish from the local market. The help required centers around the fermentation and drying of cocoa beans.... it is not back breaking but you should be able to lift 20kg easily.... working days and hours are dictated by the weather and the needs of the cocoa.. some days will be long and hard. Some days there is no work and there is plenty of down time in the hammocks. We are all multi taskers and you will sometimes be asked to help with the other aspects of running and maintaining our place.
At some times of the year we do have mosquitoes and sand fly. We recommend that you bring a mosquito net to fit a single bedTypes of help and learning opportunities

Most people who come to Grenada only see the tourist side of life. We live in a very poor rural area. People who stay with us get to know the locals who are very friendly and learn a lot about the ''real'' Grenada. For any one interested in chocolate it is a fantastic to fully experience the whole story, right from the tree to the bar
