Description
This a hostel and cultural project open to travellers, artists, and locals. We aim to create a space where everyone feels welcome no matter what background, where people can disconnect with the world around and have time to connect with nature and themselves. We have a beautiful garden with fruit trees, bonfire area, tattoo and music studio, chill out area and also offer a variety of classes & workshops at the hostel.
Types of help and learning opportunities
Art ProjectsHelp with Eco ProjectsTeachingGardeningDIY and building projectsFarmstay helpHelp around the houseHospitality/TourismGeneral MaintenanceHelp with Computers/ InternetCultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are creating a space where people can teach and learn a variety of artistic and cultural practices. From yoga and meditation to arts and crafts, we would like people to partake in whichever practices take their fancy, to further enrich their travelling experience.
Help
In and around the hostel we need help with:
- construction work
- permaculture gardening
- hostel maintenance
- welcoming guests
- social media management
As volunteers will be helping primarily around the hostel, we require a basic understanding of both English and Spanish to make communication as easy as possible, so please only contact us if you have a good understanding of both languages.
As part of the cultural project we may need skills such as:
- music
- painting
- crafts
- yoga
- circus arts
- permaculture
- sustainable construction
- reiki
- natural medicine
... and anything else you have to offer! We are open to constant suggestions and expansion of our project.
We ask volunteers to help with all kinds of tasks that are needed, these can vary greatly and may be spontaneous.
We are quite flexible with volunteer hours and hope that in return volunteers can be flexible too. This is a hostel and not a business so not one day is the same and some days more help is needed than others. We offer volunteers the chance to be part of an evolving project at no cost, but ask that you seriously consider whether you have a passion to help out or are just looking for a place for free. This is 'voluntary' work after all. If you share our values and feel you have something to bring to our project then please get in touch! Positive vibes only.Languages spoken

We will be able to offer Workawayers a bed or tent in the hostel. This includes access to all facilities, including; the kitchen, communal areas, garden and bathrooms. The hostel can get pretty busy at times when we are at full capacity, so we ask that volunteers be mindful of the space we are sharing and help to maintain it clean and tidy for everyone to enjoy.
What else ...
Volunteers will have plenty of free time to explore the wonders of Jardin, Antioquia, including;
- walks with beautiful views
- stunning waterfalls
- nature reserves
- cable car rides to the mountains
- walking the charming streets of the pueblo
- sipping on a 'tinto' in the central square
... or simply relaxing in a hammock at the hostel and admiring our pachamama.A little more information
Internet access
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
Can host digital nomads
We get lots of digital nomads visiting the hostel. The internet is generally quite good though it can cut out occasionally as in the mountains we don´t always have the best connection. If that is a major problem for you there are also internet cafes close by.
Space for parking camper vans
We have a big parking space which could also accomodate travellers coming by car or van.
Can possibly accept pets
We love animals and have 3 cats , a dog ando many ducks at the hostel. We accept travellers with pets though ask that they are respectful of the shared space, being careful that they don´t chase after the cats, clean up after them and not let them use blankets or towels from the hostel.
How many Workawayers can stay?
More than two
Hours expected
24h per week

I've been there in the low season and most of the time we had more staff than guests but don't worry there is enough work to do

My work as a volunteer consisted of feeding the ducks and birds, puppy sitting, collecting firewood, cleaning dorms and changing sheets, and welcoming/checking in guests. Super relaxed atmosphere.
