  Description

  We are an anti-specist refugee for "farm considerate" animals who have been exploited, abused and abandoned. They need a second chance to leave and heal both physically and emotionally.
  
  We are in Soria, a place chosen especially by us as a response to the lack of a suitable space for these survivors in that area of Spain.
  
  Our goal is to create and sustain a place that safeguards optimal life conditions for the most discriminated species, to raise awareness through their stories and spread arround the world that a different way to live is possible, with a more empathic and respectfull ethic.
  
  We provide a home to animals that will live all their lives free and respected, safe from the anthropocentric speciesism stablished by out society.
  
  All the rescued lives will be treated in an individual way, according to their necessities and personality, living with another inhabitants of differents species and genders, forming a big family.
  
  Our work helps to save lives, and them to change the world's perception about animals, understanding how they are when they are free, because is really different live in a cage than live free.

  Somos un refugio para animales supervivientes al especismo, rescatados de la explotación, maltrato o abandono, que necesitan una segunda oportunidad para vivir y recuperarse tanto física como emocionalmente.
  
  Nos encontramos en Soria, lugar elegido especialmente por nosotros como respuesta ante la ausencia de un espacio acorde para estas supervivientes en dicha zona de España.
  
  Nuestro fin es crear y conservar un lugar que asegure unas condiciones de vida óptimas para las especies más discriminadas por parte de la sociedad, concienciando a través de sus historias, y dando a conocer al mundo que otro tipo de vida es posible, con una moral más empática y respetuosa con los animales no humanos.
  
  Nos dedicamos cada día a rescatar, recuperar, cuidar y proteger animales a los que se les ha negado una oportunidad de vivir plenamente. Aquí viven el resto de sus días libres y respetados.
  
  Todas las vidas rescatadas son tratadas de forma individual, acorde a sus necesidades y personalidad, conviviendo con otras habitantes de diferentes especies, con las que forman una familia.
  
  Nuestra labor ayuda a salvar vidas, y ellas a que el mundo cambie su percepción sobre los animales, conociendo cómo son fuera de la esclavitud, pues no es lo mismo vivir en jaulas, que en libertad.

  The volunteer period must be a minimum of 10 days and you must contact us at least two weeks in advance of the arrival date.
  Volunteering is closed from March 29 to April 5 and from April 27 to May 4. No animal companions are allowed in the volunteer program for the safety and peace of mind of the animal residents.
  
  El tiempo de voluntariado tiene que ser mínimo de 10 días y debe contactarse al menos con dos semanas de antelación a la fecha de llegada. El voluntariado está cerrado del 29 de marzo al 5 de abril y del 27 de abril al 4 de mayo. No se acogen animales acompañantes en el voluntariado por la seguridad y tranquilidad de las habitantes.

  With the Workaway experience at the sanctuary, you'll immerse yourself in vegan culture and its daily practice, both in terms of food and learning an anti-speciesist perspective in your daily interactions with the sanctuary's inhabitants. You'll also learn about the history of the land, life in the area, and related traditions, such as the mycology of these ancient forests.
  
  You can integrate into the team by participating daily in the simplest tasks, taking on a supportive role in our routine. Your participation will give you insight into how a sanctuary operates, allowing you to understand our unique perspective and approach. Likewise, we hope to be enriched by the fresh perspectives that volunteers bring and gradually build a fantastic volunteer community.

  Con la experiencia workaway en el santuario podrás empaparte de la cultura vegana y su práctica diaria, tanto en la alimentación cómo en el aprendizaje de una perspectiva antiespecista en el trato diario con las habitantes. También podrás conocer historias sobre el territorio, la vida en la zona, sus tradiciones afines como la micología en estos antiguos bosques por ejemplo.
  
  Te podrás integrar en el equipo de trabajo a través de la participación diaria, en las tareas más sencillas, tomando un rol de apoyo en nuestra rutina. Tu participación te brindará conocimientos sobre el funcionamiento en un santuario, podrás conocer nuestra perspectiva y enfoque único. Del mismo modo esperamos poder enriquecernos de las nuevas visiones que aportáis las personas voluntarias y poco a poco generar una comunidad de voluntariado genial.

  Help

  The help we need from volunteers generally involves caring for the animals and the natural environment surrounding the shelter.
  
  The organization and preparation of daily meals for the volunteers is a collaborative effort, with both volunteers and hosts contributing.
  
  We need help with a wide variety of tasks, from cleaning kennels and feeding the animals to building infrastructure and working in the garden. Throughout the process, we aim to foster a learning exchange between volunteers and hosts.

  La ayuda que necesitamos de las voluntarias corresponde generalmente al cuidado de animales y del entorno natural que rodea el refugio.
  
  La organización y elaboración de la comida diaria para las voluntarias se hace entre todas, contando con la participación de voluntarias y anfitrionas.
  
  Necesitamos colaboración con una amplia variedad de tareas desde limpiar casetas y dar comidas, hasta construir infraestructuras o trabajar en la huerta. En el proceso buscamos el intercambio de aprendizajes entre voluntarios y anfitriones.

  Vegan accommodation and meals are available at the sanctuary house. In this space, we respect all animal species 💚.
  
  We use renewable energy and local resources. We strive to minimize our impact on the ecosystem and care for the environment, principles that guide the sanctuary and that volunteers will learn during their stay. For example, they will see how to make the most of daylight hours for activities that require the most electricity and how to conserve water.
  
  The accommodation is located within the sanctuary itself, which is a twenty-minute walk from the nearest town and a ten-minute drive away. Public transportation is available, with a bus line connecting to nearby towns and cities.

  Se ofrece habitación y comida vegana en la casa del refugio, en este espacio respetamos a todas las especies animales 💚.
  
  Utilizamos energías renovables y los recursos del terreno. Tratamos de generar el mínimo impacto en el ecosistema y de cuidar el entorno, premisas por las que se rige el santuario y que las voluntarias aprenderán durante su estancia. Como ejemplo, verán de que manera aprovechar las horas de luz para las actividades que más energía eléctrica requieren o de como cuidar el recurso natural del agua.
  
  El alojamiento está situado dentro del mismo refugio, que se encuentra a veinte minutos andando del pueblo más cercano y a diez minutos en coche. Existe la opción del trasporte público, una linea de autobús que comunica con pueblos y ciudades cercanas.

  The nearest town is a twenty-minute walk away, or a ten-minute drive. A bus line runs through this town, connecting it to nearby towns and cities.
  
  Soria boasts abundant nature: mountains, ancient glaciers, canyons carved by rivers, and ancient forests teeming with the characteristic local flora and fauna that we love so much. If you come here, you'll have the opportunity to explore these places up close. It's also a popular area for mushroom hunting in the autumn.
  
  In the summer, there are numerous cultural events, festivals, and organized rural activities that may also be of interest.
  
  The volunteer program does not accept non-human companions for the following reasons: lack of infrastructure, safety, and the health of the non-human residents. We appreciate your understanding and regret that we cannot welcome them.
  
  Basic daily tasks necessary for the humans will be collaborative; therefore, we encourage volunteers to be proactive and considerate of the community, participating in organization, meal preparation, and cleaning.
  
  The sanctuary uses solar energy and is committed to environmental stewardship; therefore, during your stay, you will learn to respect the sun's rhythms and the environment.
  
  Volunteer stays must be at least 10 days, and you must contact us at least two weeks before your arrival date. Volunteer opportunities are closed from March 29th to April 5th and from April 27th to May 4th.

  El pueblo más cercano está a veinte minutos andando y en coche está a diez minutos. Por este pueblo pasa una línea de autobús que comunica con los pueblos y ciudades cercanas.
  
  En soria hay mucha naturaleza, montañas, antiguos glaciares, cañones surcados por ríos y antiguos bosques repletos de la característica fauna y flora local que tanto queremos. Si vienes por aquí tienes la oportunidad de conocer estos lugares de cercanía. Es también una zona muy concurrida del turismo micológico en la época de otoño.
  
  En la época estival se encuentran múltiples ofertas culturales, festivales y actividades rurales organizadas que también pueden ser de interés.
  
  El programa de voluntariado no acoge a acompañantes no humanos, por los siguientes motivos: falta de infraestructura, por seguridad y por salud de las habitantes no humanas. Agradecemos vuestra comprensión y sentimos no poder recibirles.
  
  Las tareas diarias básicas y necesarias para las humanas serán colaborativas, por tanto instamos a las voluntarias a ser proactivas y consideradas en la convivencia, participando de la organización, elaboración de comidas y limpieza.
  
  El santuario utiliza energía solar y cuida el entorno, por tanto durante la estancia aprenderemos a tener en cuenta los ritmos solares y el medio ambiente.
  
  El tiempo de voluntariado tiene que ser mínimo de 10 días y debe contactarse al menos con dos semanas de antelación a la fecha de llegada. El voluntariado está cerrado del 29 de marzo al 5 de abril y del 27 de abril al 4 de mayo
