    Description

I am Diana, a Colombian artist, and I live with my daughter and mother in Santa Helena, a traditional sabanera farmhouse with more than a century of history. The surroundings combine rural life with nearby industrial activity, a very characteristic blend of the Sabana de Bogotá. The house preserves its original architecture, an old fireplace, a wood-fired oven, classic furniture, collections of records and vinyls, a player piano with rolls, and an art studio where I develop part of my creative work. There is also an active swetalodge that forms part of my personal practice.

I am currently organizing the storage rooms and preparing a garage sale with objects, tools and materials accumulated over several generations. I am looking for calm, organized and respectful people who are interested in supporting real domestic processes and in living within a space filled with material history.

    Social activities and interaction

At Santa Helena, daily life flows around the kitchen, the bodega project and the rhythms of the house. Workawayers are welcome to join us in simple, shared moments: preparing meals together, listening to music, lighting the fireplace in the evenings, or exploring the surroundings of Cajicá and Zipaquirá. I often work in my art studio, and those who are curious can witness the process or have conversations about creative practice, cinema, archives and Colombian cultural history.

Skills and knowledge I can share

As an artist and researcher, I can share insights about art, creative processes, documentary work, Indigenous knowledge in Colombia, the history of the Sabana, and the unique story of this centenary farmhouse filled with objects, tools and memories. Workawayers can also learn about organizing archives, caring for historical objects, and the basics of preparing and tending a temazcal (inipi, sweatlodge) as part of my personal and artistic practice.

What I hope to learn from hosting

Hosting people from different cultures allows me to expand my own perspective, exchange ideas, and understand how others live, work and create. I appreciate the opportunity to share conversations, learn new ways of organizing, cooking or approaching daily tasks, and to connect with people who bring curiosity, sensitivity and openness to this space. Every Workawayer adds something meaningful to the house, and I look forward to those exchange
