    = = Looking for a couple or 2 friends = =

We have some painting outside left plus, as always, easy carpentry work, (nothing demanding) and we need a hand for digging draining pipes around the barn!

    = = =

A Swedish-German couple, Frank (68) & Monica (70+), both retired since some time, living on the lovely Swedish countryside close to the woods.

We are both pretty social and interested in many topics like ecology, music of all kind, politics, travelling and more. Frank is playing several instruments and also running a non-profit-organisation offering nature activities for families. Frank had been working in a parish of the Lutheran Church of Sweden with children groups, youth and nature, Monica used to be a physician, both now retired. We are spending a lot of time on our ground, in the garden, or strolling around in the woods with our dogs "Zeppo" and "Balder".

Anyway we usually offer our helpers now and then excursions in the surroundings.
We had several helpers here during the last years, and they always had a good time and were satisfied! We even gave them a ride to some starting-point for a day-hike on the trails in the woods and picked them up in the evening again. So there are a lot of outdoor-activities around, and I promise you:
if you are a real nature-lover you won't be disappointed!

140 km north of Gothenburg - 20 minutes to the sea - 3 minutes to the nearest lake - 1 minute to the forest and then ... hours of silence !

We : Monica (Swedish) + Frank (German / Swedish) , own a farm (but we are not running any agriculture business; we have 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 goats, 3 ducks, 3 sheep - all animals "just for fun") in the landscape of Bohuslän on the countryside with 5 acres = 2 hektar of land in the forest area .
There are always small tasks like: fences for the animals, maintenance of the big barn, some painting, easier carpeting works, helping with the vegetable garden and stuff like this.

Please mention: all is non-profit-projects (we put in our own money!), so don´t expect to be paid for any work. No money involved...

The Scandinavian metropoles Gothenburg and Oslo are easy to reach within 2 hours, even by public bus, for a day-trip.
Near Tanumshede we have a lot of rock-carvings from bronce age and a museum about this (World Heritage Place!)
We have a canoe lying at "our" :-) lake, where you can paddle and watch beavers in the evening.

Monday - Friday. We do prefer a stay of 2-3 weeks.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

If we don't have any bookings for paying guests you may live for yourself in our typical Swedish "stuga", a fully equipped guesthouse of 40 m2 which we rent out during summer commercially. Have a look at the pictures!
There you have a lot of space to relax and just be, but of course we often eat together, sit by the fireside outside or have a chat. Although we like to be social, please don't expect close family life: you should be able to be for yourself and enjoy your own space and later on we can meet again and have conversations.
The food is for free, of course, and partly ecologically.

Notice that our farm is in the countryside! I.e. no neighbours, next bigger village with bank and supermarket is Tanumshede, 15 km away. The little town of Strömstad at the seaside is 30 km or 30 min. by car away. So the entertainment during your spare time out in the woods is mostly hiking, fishing (if you like), bycicling, canoeing, sitting at the campfire or reading / painting / thinking...

    What else ...

The travel to get here you have to pay yourself!
The airports nearby are: Gothenburg Landvetter, Oslo Torp and Oslo Gardemoen. From all airports there are regular bus shuttles into the city-centres and from there overlandbuses to Strömstad or Tanumshede where we can fetch you by car. Of course we help you to find the cheapest connections!
From Hamburg or Copenhagen there are cheap overland-buses passing Gothenburg (Göteborg) and heading for Oslo; these buses (for example FLIXBUS, SWEBUSS or NETTBUSS, try with Google) are also passing Tanumshede, not far from where we live and from where we can fetch you by car.
