Description
Hi,
HOUSE-SITTING
Edit: From January 2025 we are looking for a workawayer that would like to come and help us around the house and our animals. A cat and 8 chickens. The fist 2 weeks of January we are looking for someone who can housesit our house for us.
Once we come back home following applies:
We sometimes need to help out with cleaning in the kids school so maybe you could help us out with that too.
More general:
We need help with watering plants in and outside the house. We also have chickens and a cat that will need food and water. The chicken house will need cleaning once a week also. And there will be some work around the house as well. During the summer we rent out some of our bedrooms to tourists. Usually it is not very many visitors, perhaps 10 in the whole season, but we could use some help also with tidying these rooms and doing some laundry.
The work time expected won't be more than 25 hours per week, probably not even 15-20 hours of work per week.
If you are a student at Gothenburg University this could be an opertunity for you. If you have experience from waitering in restaurants we can show you where some of our previous workawayers have found jobs in Gothenburg (requiers a working viza).
Presentation:
We live in a family house situated 25 km and minutes outside of Gothenburg. We are a family of two adults and two (now teenage) children, some chickens and a lazy cat. ;-)
We have a garden where we summertime grow some vegetables, for ie potatoes, cucumber, broccoli and sallad.
We would like help with some harvesting and gardening work, but mainly with household work, cooking, cleaning and help around the children for ie accomompany them while doing homework. If you have a drivers license we could use some help with taking them to some of their activities.
We can offer you your own bedroom furnished with a bed, desk and a bureau to keep your clothes in. Our house has five bedrooms and our family uses three on the first floor. On the first floor there is also one bathroom (a second bathroom with sauna in the basement), a kitchen and a living room. On the second floor we have two bedrooms and one more living room.
From our house you have a 10 minute walk to the train station from where you can catch the train to Gothenburg or Alingsås when you like.
Next to the train station there is also a lovely lake. It takes aprox 1 hour to walk around the lake. And on the other side of the lake there is a castle with wonderful surroundings, horses, boats, fishing etc.
Unfortunately we don't accept smokers due to allergies. And because of the same reason we also don't want you to wear any perfumes.
Also good to know is that we try to live life with a smallest possible carbon footprint. That means we no longer use Aircraft and would be thrilled if you can consider traveling to Sweden also without Aircraft. Within Europe travel with train and buses are real easy. Google InterRail and Flixbus for example. :)
Our internet access is fine, but sometimes it takes me a while to answer your emails due to that I want to speak with my husband about them before I answer, and we don't see each other so often because we sometimes both work odd hours.Types of help and learning opportunities

We live close to Gothenburg. Only 25 minutes with the train. There are lots of things to do. Around here there is a lot of untouched nature which is beautiful to walk around in. There is also a beautiful lake nearby where you can take a swim or fish.
