We are a family of four, (mum, dad, 14 year old daughter and 12 year old son), living on a hobby farm in the woods in the south of Sweden. We would like to develop the farm but struggle with finding the time. There are a lot of projects running or possible to start up, depending of your skills and interest. We love animals and for the moment we have cows, sheep, hens, turkeys, rabbits, ducks, cats and dogs. We also have bees and produce honey. In a big pond we have crayfish. We are self-sufficient in meat and are producing some of the most common vegetables. We are very much into dog training and agility, and we have our own training hall with artificial grass. In town we have a rehabilitation and healthcare center for dogs.
We do answer every message, but sometimes it takes longer time. Thats why our relpy rate sometimes is low even though we do answer.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
It is possible to learn how to work in the woods, go hunting, fishing and pick berries and mushrooms. The nature is beautiful with a lot of lakes and forest. It is also possilbe to learn about animals and growing vegetables in a small farm way. If you are into dog training you can learn about agility and also try with our dogs.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Possible help is building storage room, putting up fences, and create growing places for vegetables. Gardening, planting, painting outdoors, helping with the household, taking care of animals, cleaning out the barn and so on. We breed shetland sheepdogs and occasionally we need help with taking care of puppies. We are also looking for a person that are skilled with the sewing machine, detail work!
You will live in an own old but renovated to fully modern house, there are 8 beds. You can cook and eat by yourself in your house, or come to our house.
What else ...
The farm is situated 20 km from nearest town, and there are no communications other than by car. You can follow us to town someday, or lend a bicycle, but you need to like the silence and the woods to be happy here. The open areas are quite small and mainly used for pasture. There are a lot of lakes in the area and the nature is beautiful. You need to be independent and be able to work by yourself or with other workers.

The whole family is warm-hearted and makes you feel at home from the first second. The work is really nice and a perfect mixture of a little challenging (like building a fence)

But it’s not only the puppies that made me feel happy and as if I was at home, it’s the kind and creative people living in that wonderful farm surrounded by
There was always a lot to do but the work was very versatile so it never got boring. Maria took very much so in consideration what kind of work we enjoyed too. I cooked and baked a lot for example
Because no guests were there I had my own accommodation that was really nice.

The work was project-based, which made it very interesting, since we got to do something different every week or so. This allowed me to learn a diverse range of skills and aspects of the farm. I enjoyed all of the projects and was never forced to do anything I couldn't
We did lots o varius and interesting works like splitting woods, taking care of animal and plants, building and painting a garage, moving lambs, building a fence, doing gardening and taking care of children.

The surrounding is so beautiful, surrounded by the forest, where we could hear the foxes at night, close to a beautiful lake, where we often sat and enjoyed the silence and than the farm itself with its long history

Mia and Fredrik are very open to share their knowledge and teach
But this was great because we could intensively get to know Mia, Fredrik, their two children, all the animals and the surroundings.
Our work there challenged us quite because we stood before many new projects. These have, however, caused us al lot of fun and we
Where to start! I had a lovely time there, Fredrik and Mia are very welcoming so I immediately lost the feeling of being a stranger. There was a big range of things to do - and they were very broad so anyone can find something interesting!
I was very happy with the hours I've worked - I got to choose when I start and
hope to see you in the future one day all the best :)
