    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are large, busy family and include our helpers in our family life as much as possible.

We are looking for help in our garden and house.
Tasks can vary depending on the season, which might include clearing brambles, ivy and other weeds, helping maintain the vegetable garden, planting, cleaning and maintaining the house.
We occasionally ask for help with the animals, if you are open to it. Childcare is not required.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We provide all food and accommodation in exchange for 25 hours of help per week.
At present, Workawayers stay in a private double room in our family home or a newly built cabin in our garden. This is ideal for a couple, two friends travelling together, or a solo traveller.
We usually cook dinner and enjoy eating together when everyone is around. Breakfast and lunch are more independent, and we provide food for you to prepare yourself. I am vegetarian and am happy to make sure there is plenty of food available that suits reasonable dietary preferences.
We generally have one or two Workawayers staying at a time, although occasionally there may be more.
We enjoy spending time with our Workawayers and often have great conversations, play games or simply relax together in the evenings. At the same time, you are completely free to have your own space and do your own thing.
We are looking for people who are friendly, reliable, open-minded and genuinely willing to help. You don't need to have lots of experience, but you should be punctual, physically capable of the work involved and happy to get stuck in.
A reasonable level of English is helpful, as you will be living in a busy family home and communicating with us about the work.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

One of the things we love about living here is that we are surrounded by nature and countryside, but we are not completely isolated.
We are around 3 km from Wicklow town and about a 20-minute walk from buses with connections to Wicklow town, Dublin, Arklow, Bray, Glendalough and Dublin Airport.
Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains are particularly easy to visit, with beautiful hiking, lakes and scenery.
We are about an hour south of Dublin, so this can be a great base for exploring Wicklow and other parts of Ireland.
We are always happy to help with ideas and information about places to visit.
