    Description

We run a boutique pilates studio located in Caves Beach, a relaxed coastal village just 40 minutes south of Newcastle and 1.5 hours north of Sydney. We’re a small, friendly team who love what we do. Our studio isn’t part of a big chain - it’s locally owned and has a real community vibe, with beautiful light-filled space and welcoming clients.

We offer group Reformer classes seven days a week, catering to all levels, from beginners to strong regulars. The focus here is on quality movement, connection, and helping people feel good in their bodies without ego or intimidation.

We’re currently looking for a qualified Pilates instructor to join us for a Workaway placement. It’s a great opportunity to teach in a supportive environment, live by the beach, and experience true Australian coastal life while sharing your skills with our amazing community.

You’ll get to experience real Australian coastal life in a relaxed beachside village. You’ll become part of our small studio team and connect with locals who come to class every week – they love a chat and will make you feel welcome.

    You’ll have the chance to:
    - Join social activities like coffee runs after class, coastal walks, or swims at Caves Beach and nearby beaches. The area has great cafes, coastal markets, and live music in local venues on weekends.
    - Learn about running a boutique Pilates studio, including class programming, social media marketing, and community building in a small business setting.
    - Share your own skills and teaching style with our clients, who enjoy learning from different instructors and cultures.

    Accommodation

We provide a clean, comfortable private bedroom with your own bathroom in a modern home just a short walk from the studio and the beach. The room has a queen bed, wardrobe, and good natural light.

You’ll have access to shared spaces including the kitchen, lounge, and laundry. The house is secure and located in a quiet, safe neighbourhood.

Food is flexible – you’ll have your own space in the kitchen to store groceries and cook meals. We sometimes share meals or coffees together, but you’ll have full independence to plan your own food.

This setup suits someone who enjoys a peaceful coastal lifestyle with the beach on your doorstep, while still having privacy and a comfortable place to relax after classes.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

In your time off, you can explore the beautiful local beaches, coastal walks, and nearby towns. Caves Beach is famous for its sea caves at low tide, and there are great surf beaches, cafes, and weekend markets in the area. Newcastle is only a 40-minute drive away with more restaurants, bars, and art events.

There’s limited public transport here, so having your own car is helpful, but not essential if you’re happy to stay local or carpool when possible.

    A few things to note:
    - We value a calm, respectful household. Clean up after yourself and respect shared spaces.
    - No smoking inside the house or studio.
    - Quiet after 9pm, as early mornings are common here with classes and beach life.

Overall, it’s a peaceful, beachy lifestyle with friendly locals and plenty of fresh air and sunshine to enjoy between classes.
