    Description

Lots to do on our rural, small acreage, on mid-Vancouver Island. Our summer 'to do' list includes: outdoor house maintenance and small construction projects, as well as regular household and garden tasks. While my son is home from Uni for the summer, he is off working. We have 2 cats that rule the roost, and a lodgers black lab.

Host has a diverse background of overseas work and travels. Life was altered being injured by a vehicle. Son (early 20's) is studying Engineering at University, and is home for the summer. While 'early retired' I do silversmithing and work with mixed metals and a wide array of rocks. Am happy to share skills and learn new ones. I built my home and developed the property approx 30 yrs ago.... I am now hoping for some help with the homestead to free me up for creativity.
The Comox Valley has much to offer. The Valley includes the towns of Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, and the rural areas of Fanny Bay, Union Bay, Royston, Merville and Black Creek. We are close to Mount Washington for skiing or hiking. We live down the rd from a beautiful beach, and a multitude of forest trails. We have a fabulous year round Farmers Market and a multitude of music and arts festivals.

    Help

Depends on the volunteer and how physical they want to be, inc:
    - help with organic vegetable and flower gardens
    - pool maintenance
    - some carpentry - outdoor projects
    - exterior house staining
    - some general household chores
    - opportunity for cooking
    - though any ages are welcome, I am happy to host mature visitors, who understand the nuances of home ownership, rural living, etc.
