    Description

    Hi! I'm Ducharme.

I'm self-employed in the tourism and luxury limousine industry and enjoy giving back through community service and philanthropy. I've lived on beautiful Vancouver Island since 2016 and my home is just a three-minute walk from the ocean and the historic village of Cowichan Bay.

I love meeting people from different cultures and enjoy photography, drone flying, cycling, motorcycling, chess, nature, and new adventures. Having travelled to 15 countries as a guest myself, I understand what makes a great hosting experience and strive to make every guest feel welcome, comfortable, and respected.

Before confirming a stay, I'd like to have a short video chat through Workaway so we can get to know each other and ensure it's a great fit for everyone.

I look forward to meeting you and sharing the beauty of Vancouver Island!

    Gratefully,
    Ducharme

I love helping guests experience Vancouver Island like a local. I'll gladly share my favourite beaches, hikes, old-growth forests, wineries, scenic drives, local history, and hidden gems, along with my own travel guides to the island.

Whether you're looking for adventure, nature, culture, or simply a relaxing stay, I'm happy to help you make the most of your time here!

    Help

Projects are around my home, trailer, vehicles, and property, and there's always something different to do. Tasks may include cooking healthy meals together, housekeeping, gardening and yard work, organizing storage areas, light home improvement projects, creative decorating, and the occasional hands-on project.

I offer a flexible schedule of around 25 hours per week, with at least two days off. We can work out a schedule that suits us both—whether that's spreading the hours throughout the week or working a few longer days to enjoy more time off for exploring beautiful Vancouver Island.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

I can host up to two Workaway guests—either solo travelers or a pair.

Guests stay in my small historic fishing cottage or a renovated retro trailer. The cottage offers a private living room with a pullout memory foam sofa bed, while the 19' Big Foot trailer has a twin and a double bed.

Both spaces include power, fiber Wi-Fi, kitchen or kitchenette, TV with Netflix, and climate control. Outdoor areas with fire pits and covered patios are shared.

The cottage has the main kitchen, bathroom, and laundry, which all guests use, as the trailer’s bathroom is not available.

The trailer is set up for summer stays, and I’m open to ideas to improve the space or explore locally together.
