    Description

Join Our Sled Dog Team in the Yukon!

Have you ever wanted to experience life with a team of (sprint) sled dogs while living in the beautiful Yukon wilderness?

We're looking for one enthusiastic, self-motivated Workawayer to join us this fall as we begin training our sled dogs for the winter racing season. This is a hands-on opportunity to become part of our daily life, learn about sled dog care and training, and experience life on a rural acreage surrounded by an incredible team of dogs.

    What you'll be doing

    * Assisting with daily care of our sled dogs
    * Helping train dogs using ATVs and bikes as we build fitness for the winter season
    * Helping with feeding, cleaning, and maintaining the kennel
    * Preparing (humans') meals and helping with household tasks
    * Pitching in wherever needed and becoming part of our everyday routine

No previous sled dog experience is required—an eagerness to learn and a positive attitude are far more important.

    Who we're looking for

    We value people who:

    * Are self-motivated and take initiative without needing constant direction.
    * Communicate openly, honestly, and respectfully. Strong communication skills and a willingness to discuss questions or concerns are essential.
    * Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team.
    * Are comfortable with physical outdoor work in all kinds of weather.
    * Love dogs and are committed to treating them with kindness and respect.

    What we provide

    *Accommodation
    * All meals (room and board)
    * Plenty of opportunities to learn about sled dog training, canine behavior, and life in the Yukon
    * An authentic cultural exchange where you'll become part of our daily life, not just a volunteer

Our dogs are family, teammates, and athletes. Their welfare always comes first, and we use positive, science-based handling methods. If you're excited to work hard, learn something new every day, and experience a unique northern lifestyle, we'd love to hear from you!
