My husband and I live in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. We are looking for someone to walk our two dogs daily, and occasionally petsit/housesit the dogs and cat. In exchange, you will live in our beautiful Garden suite on the property.

On an average day, when only daily walks are required, the remainder of the day is completely yours. When we are away on vacation, freedom is more limited. We do expect you to be home with the animals all day, with the exception of running short errands.

We are located mid-Vancouver Island which is the perfect starting point to explore our surroundings. Our home is a ten minute walk to the beach (Pacific Ocean). For a city experience, Victoria is 2 hours away and has excellent shopping, restaurants, and museums. Tofino is also 2 hours away, where you can find expansive beaches and world class surfing. North Island offers rugged camping, hiking, hunting and fishing. Mount Washington is 45 minutes from us and has fantastic skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and mountain biking depending on the season. Vancouver Island is truly an outdoor lovers paradise, and will give you an authentic Canadian experience.

While you stay with us, we are happy to share our exploration recommendations, values, and way of life with you. In return, we are excited to learn about your culture, traditions and experiences. We do value our privacy and will absolutely respect yours.

Daily walks for the dogs for 1 hour each.

We would like to travel at least a few days per month at minimum. I foresee a couple of road trips in our future, so you could petsit for longer.

Ideally you will have experience with dogs who are reactive to other dogs. Confidence and consistency is a must, especially on walks. Walks will be done in low-traffic areas, and always on leash.

    Charlie

Charlie is a 5 year old, indoor/outdoor cat. He is very friendly, and has a great personality. He loves to sleep during the day, and hunt at night. Don’t leave your food unattended because he will help himself.

    Henry

Henry is a two year old Labrador Retriever. He is high energy and loves to play. He is NOT friendly with other animals, besides Winston and the cat. His favourite things in life include swimming, playing fetch, and being goofy.

    Winston

Winston is a six year old Weimaraner who loves his people, and snuggling. He does struggle with separation anxiety, so he is quite vocal when stressed. He walks well on a leash and has a reliable recall. Winston can be reactive with large dogs.
