    Description

Hello! We are Tessa and Kael, and we just recently bought a place in our favourite neighbourhood in the city, called “the West End”. It’s very central to the city, making it easier to get places by bike and bus. Our neighbourhood is extremely diverse with lots of yummy local restaurants to check out. We both grew up outside of the city in the country, and now love this new city-living, with our country roots.

Winnipeg is great both in the summer and winter time, and we can’t wait to show you what it has to offer year-round.

We have two cats, and no other pets. Kael works in a youth program at a farm, and I work an office job and work from home Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We’d love to share our Canadian knowledge and English/French language, and learn about your culture as well.

Kael is a gardener, and Tessa is a crafter - and we’d be happy to share some knowledge in this way as well.

There are plenty of festivals and workshops within our city and neighbourhood that we are happy to share with you on what is going on and encourage you to go to.

We do a lot of community organizing around pedestrian/bike safety and prison abolition, and if you’re interested - we may ask for some help on some projects we have on the go in those areas!

  • Help

    Help

We have some minimal space to garden which we'd love help with. Depending on the season, that could look like helping to build raised beds, weeding, harvesting, and/or preserving. We have a number of simple DIY projects such as paint stripping, painting, and general repair. We would of course also love some help with general household chores, such as cleaning and cooking.

Finally, we're both part of a number of community organizations that oftentimes require some work - sometimes preparing large community meals, showing up to rallies, or doing arts and crafts.
