    Description

We run animal rescue centers dedicated to taking care of the maltreated and less fortunate strays of Cebu.
We currently take care of 83 dogs and around 91 cats in two shelters about 15-20 minutes apart by motorbike! Some of the rescues have been with us for a long time, the dogs need walking every day and weekly bathing, grooming, etc. and are looking for forever homes.
We are always in need of help from volunteers - we got 5 caretakers in Cebu City mostly women and us the founders and managers are stay-in.

It's never enough hands for the many shelter chores. In return, you'll receive boundless amounts of love and cuddles from the animals.

We have two bunk beds in one room and a matress on the floor in another room both at our outpost rescue center near the city centre with currently 34 dogs and 27 cats. Our main rescue center is in the hills with 49 dogs and 64 cats where we need you to walk the dogs.
We are small shelters but very active.

We can accept 2 volunteers only and we got a team of stay-in filipino caretakers but we are a shelter not a homestay.

Our rescue centers got shared bathrooms with our staff and got bucket showers and cold water only. No aircon.
We offer basic accomodation with the purpose to be around animals and not only to get free accomodation. See our photos. Be aware about the circumstances of an animal shelter.

Cancelations are a risk for us and inconvenient as we may have turned away other applicants. Please be responsible.

Internet you can easily get with a local SIM card (Php 40) and a weekly subscription from Php 70 (Globe telecom) or 99 (Smart) with currently 10 GB data and i.e. unli FB. We do not have Wifi.

For the time being we need you to cook yourself but we will provide the groceries and vegetables, bread, oats, spread, pasta, rice, drinking water, coffee, tea, etc. No meat nor fish. We got an oven and a gas stove, a blender and a refrigerator available for you to use.

Our outpost rescue center where you will stay is near the city center with shops and a hotel with dorm in walking distance (15-20mins) in case you want to stay-out.
Our main rescue center is located in a small picturesque nature area in the hills at the edge of Cebu City.
Both places are accessible easily and cheap by public transport.
There's local places to buy food at markets and malls and places to visit in the city.
Our caretakers are filipinos ladies and men. We are welcoming regularly international volunteers from all over the world, and from the Philippines.
We also receive visitors and groups specially at weekends who all love animals, so it's a great place for a good chat!

  • Help

    Help

Experience with animals / kennels / shelters is useful, but not necessary.
In general - we need help feeding the animals, cooking and walking them, cleaning up, grooming, giving them baths and lots of love!

There are odd jobs that need to be done as well - maintenance of the property, cleaning up cobwebs, painting and repairs and anything else that can be spotted that needs doing.

We are a non-profit organization and ask half a day help from you for free stay and 3 times food a day. For breakfast we provide bread, fruits and oats and for lunch & dinner you have to see the other volunteers timing to cook together or prepare a meal yourself. We provide food like vegetables, pasta, bread, spread, oats, fruits, etc.

The animals need feeding and care 7 days a week and we work every day. If you like to head out for sightseeing for a day you can help a full day and take a full day off so that's not a problem.

If there are several volunteers at the time you need to coordinate with each other. If only one volunteer is available we need to cover latest 7am to 11am to help our caretaker!

Afternoon 2pm to 4pm. Hours can vary depending chores and sometimes availability of water.

We're asking the volunteers to clean the room before they depart and wash the bedsheets by yourself not to burden our helper, thanks for understanding!

There are scooter motorbikes for rent not far away if you like to have a transport.
We do not permit smoking within the premises.
Going outside for smoking is causing the dogs to bark and we get complaints from neighbors and it should better be avoided.

There is also the night hours from 8.30pm to reduce noise and avoid the dogs to bark.

Please do not arrive in the dark on your arrival day which starts 6pm. Our doorbell will be switched off by 7pm.
Once the dogs know you, you can go out and return at night.
