  • Description

We are an animal shelter dedicated to taking care of the lovely and less fortunate strays of Cebu.
We currently have 80+ cats and 25 dogs. Some have been with us for a long time, and others have stayed a short while and found new forever homes. We are always in need of help from volunteers - we have a few permanent staff, but it's never enough help for so many animals. In return, you'll receive boundless amounts of love and cuddles from the animals.
We have one bed to offer, unfortunately there isn't much space on the property to be able to offer more than this.

We are located in a small picturesque area on the edge of Cebu. You'll have to pass through the city to get here, and there's lots of great local places to eat and visit very nearby.
There's many families staying nearby us on the mountain, every interaction you'll have with the locals is quite pleasant :)
We also have workers and volunteers from all over the world, and from the Philippines. Everyone here loves animals, so it's a great place for a good chat!

Experience with kennels / shelters is useful, but not necessary.
But in general - we need help feeding the animals, cleaning up after them, grooming, giving them baths and exercise.
And giving them lots of love!

There are odd jobs that need to be done as well - maintenance of the property, cleaning up cobwebs and keeping termites away, and anything else that can be spotted that needs doing.

It's okay if you don't have your rabies vaccines, it's more important if you have your tetanus vaccines!

  • Accommodation

One single bed (bottom bunk). Currently the room has to be used as storage also, but there is enough room to sleep and store your personal belongings.
The room is quite basic, and the dogs can be loud at night, hopefully this is okay with you!
The toilet is outside of the room, and is a standard toilet with bucket flushing. Only cold bucket shower available.

Our helpers usually prepare lunch and maybe dinner. They usually have meat but prepare vegetables for me as I'm vegetarian. You're welcome to the food and whatever is in the kitchen, just sometimes you'll have to prepare the food for yourself to eat. There is a kitchen with cooker, fridge, drinking water and coffee

The GPS location on google maps is inaccurate, it will take you to the church nearby. From there it's a 20Piso mototaxi ride.
The mototaxi's are a great way to get around elsewhere, just make sure to barter with them for a good price!
Otherwise there are also Jeepneys which will take you anywhere in Cebu. A jeepney from the church will cost 8 pisos and take you to the centre of Cebu.
