✨ We're Looking for New House & Community Mates! ✨
Two rooms are currently free – ideal for families with kids aged 6–12!
If you're curious about joining us more permanently, feel free to ask for the link to our little questionnaire!
🌿 Welcome, nature lovers, artists & dreamers! 🌈
We are a colorful community in Bernau (Brandenburg), just outside Berlin, surrounded by forests and lakes. Our shared home is a living project rooted in creativity, sustainability, and togetherness.
We’ve been living here for 6 years, and every season brings new magic and ideas. Our place includes:
A large garden and outdoor area
A hot tub and a soon-to-be sauna
A multi-purpose space for film nights, workshops, ping-pong, and cozy gatherings
Two ducks and many dreams 🦆✨
🚐 Vanlife-friendly – we have space to park and plug in.
👨👩👧 Who We Are
A bunch of creatives, queers, parents, and forest lovers:
Ryke (37) – Artist, doula, photographer & mother of Nebel (1)
Max (29) – Biologist, part-time activist & Nebel’s proud dad
Sissi (33) – Tree doctor & jam session enthusiast
Martje (31) – Teacher & activist
Kat (25) – Musician & mom of Neva (0.5)
Hugo (32) – Music creator & dad of Neva
Haike (63) – Fairy energy grandma of Nebel & Freytag, Hypno-Therapist
Ateş (30) – Kindred soul starting life in Germany
??? (??) + 1 () – This could be you! A parent with a child (6–12), or a traveller for a shorter stay until a new family joins.
We also have 3 ducks, 2 cats, and 1 dog 🐾
Our shared values are rooted in love, respect, creativity, and making the world a little brighter – one DIY project (or dance session) at a time.
🤝 What You Can Help With
We’re always juggling different projects and appreciate any extra hands! Here’s what we’re currently focused on:
🌱 Garden & Nature Projects
Light garden care and permaculture-inspired planting
Pond beautification (decor, light planting, and natural design ideas)
Greenhouse TLC: organizing, ventilation setup (non-electrical), and decor
Creating playful nature corners and relaxation spaces
Many DIY projects, big and small
🧼 Home Life & Family Support
playful moments with toddlers
Light household support: cooking, cleaning, sorting
Creating fun activities or educational games for the kids
🍽️ Creative Kitchen & Food Projects
Fermenting vegetables
Brainstorming and experimenting with plant-based recipes
Organizing shared pantry or helping plan weekly meals
Sharing food traditions from your culture!
🎨 Music, Events & Art Facilitation
We regularly host informal community events – small music jams, poetry nights, film screenings, and art sessions. If you love creating cozy atmospheres or co-hosting events like these, we'd love your help in shaping them. These are not commercial events – they’re for joy, bonding, and expression within the household or among friends.
Note: No experience required – just a curious, kind spirit.
🧘 Community Rhythm & Practical Info
Minimum stay: 2 weeks – max open end
Trial period: 10 days in, we check in to see how everyone feels
Meals: We cook one plant-based meal daily. You can cook for yourself anytime using shared basics. Bring your own extras if you like (BIO meat is okay occasionally)
Weekly community meeting: Please join – it’s how we stay connected
Bikes & bedding: Available! Hammock life welcome too
Sleeping options: Shared guest hut (max 4 people), or a private room for singles/couples
Best time to leave: Weekends = smooth transitions
💬 Final Words
We're a house of freedom, intention, and exploration. If you're seeking meaningful connections and don’t mind a little garden dirt or a toddler giggle mid-conversation, we might just be your next stop.
With love,
A bunch of humans trying to make life a little more beautiful 💛
P.S. We stand in solidarity with people affected by conflict – from Armenia to Palestine, from Sudan to Ukraine. Peace everywhere. Always.Types of help and learning opportunities

There are several options for sleeping, free rooms in the house, small cabin in the garden (that may need a bit of love before though) or you can bring your own tent or camper.
What else ...
Important: we start with a stay of 2 weeks and then extension is of course possible. But since we are quite a few people its important for us that the energy is right :)
Nobody is forced to help any specific hours, you can take days off as you wish, just be thought- and respectful, walk around with your eyes open and enjoy the tasks you do, if you hate helping with your hands there is no point of coming to a place that tries to live of the land and garden :)
There are a lot of beautiful lakes and forests around, easy to get to by bicycle. City of Bernau is 10 minutes by bike, but theres also a busstop right in front of the house. Berlin is super close too :) And of course the city has everything to offer one can dream of.A little more information
