Hello!
We are an interspecies family (4 pigs, 5 cats, 2 dogs, 1 to 3 humans). We live on the outskirts of a fairly quiet village, far enough from the town center (40 minutes) to be independent of basic services. We have solar power and seasonal water. The climate can be described as extremely humid during the rainy season and extremely dry, dusty, and hot during the dry season.
Our family offers a safe space for non-human people, particularly pigs. Those who live with us have been rescued from the factory to give them the opportunity to live a dignified life with the love and care they deserve. We do our best to live together in peace and harmony with all beings, trying to minimize our environmental impact as much as possible. We like to take care of the water, the soil, the land, and all who inhabit it, starting with ourselves.
Sometimes we are at our limits and really need help. Especially the care of the pigs, who require a lot of maintenance in their pens, cleaning, attention, and affection. Each one has a special and unique character and they like to be loved and accepted.
To get to the house, you'll need to walk from the highway where the bus drops you off for 30 minutes. From there, the minibus takes 10 minutes to the town center. Tepoztlán is a tourist town, and especially on weekends, there are many parties and events with many cultural activities such as yoga classes, dance, ceremonies, permaculture, temazcal (sweat lodge), hiking, alternative activities, etc.
Our property isn't very large, but we're far enough away to be peaceful, and we have the forest as our neighbor on all four sides. The house has three bedrooms and a kitchen. We use a composting toilet, which is also outside, as is the shower.
There are usually one or two people at the house. It's a safe and quiet environment to balance work and rest. For more social activities, it's recommended to go to town. We have internet, and it usually works. We do not consume any drugs or narcotics (alcohol, marijuana, tobacco) or animal products on the premises. We are vegan, and the consumption of animals or their byproducts is not permitted.
We offer:
*Single bed in a shared room (two beds per room)
*Use of kitchen (gas, stove, and groceries to prepare your meals)
-Currently, we don't have anyone to prepare your meals, so we ask that some days you cook for everyone or that those present organize themselves to do so. Groceries and some fruits and vegetables are provided for everyone.
Minimum stay: 1 month
What will you have to do?
-Help us with feeding and hydrating the non-human residents
-Cleaning enclosures
-Taking photos and videos for social media
-Helping us with small improvements to the spaces (DIY)
-Helping us in the garden/planting/green areas
-Working on yourself and enjoying the diversity of life

Vivimos a las afueras de un poblado bastante tranquilo y lo suficientemente alejado del centro del pueblo (40 min) para estar independientes de los servicios básicos, contamos con energía solar y agua de temporal. El clima podremos definirlo como extremadamente húmedo en lluvias y extremadamente seco, polvoso y caluroso en secas.
Nuestra familia ofrece un espacio seguro para personas no humanas particularmente cerdos, los que viven con nosotros han sido rescatados de la industria para darles la oportunidad de vivir una vida digna con amor y cuidados que merecen. Hacemos lo posible para vivir juntos en paz y armonía con todos los seres, tratando de aminorar en medida de lo posible nuestro impacto ambiental, nos gusta cuidar el agua, el suelo, la tierra y a todos los que habitamos en ella comenzando por nosotros mismos.
A veces estamos en nuestros límites y realmente necesitamos ayuda. Especialmente el cuidado de los cerdos quienes requieren mucho mantenimiento en sus corrales, limpieza, atención y cariño, cada uno tiene un carácter especial y único y les gusta ser amados y aceptados.
Para llegar a casa sera necesario caminar desde la carretera donde te deja el bus por 30 minutos, de ahi el minibus tarda 10 min al centro del pueblo. Tepoztlán es un pueblo turístico y especialmente los fines de semana hay mucha fiesta y eventos con muchas actividades culturales como clases de yoga, baile, ceremonias, permacultura, temazcal, senderismo, actividades alternativas etc.
Nuestro terreno no es muy grande pero estamos lo suficientemente alejados para estar tranquilos y tenemos de vecino al bosque en las 4 direcciones. La construcción tiene 3 habitaciones y una cocina, hacemos uso del baño seco que también está afuera al igual que la ducha.
Normalmente hay de una a dos personas en casa, un ambiente seguro y tranquilo para equilibrar el trabajo y el descanso, para dinámicas mas sociales se recomienda ir al pueblo.
Tenemos internet y normalmente funciona.
No consumimos en el espacio ningún tipo de drogas o estupefacientes (alcohol, marihuana, tabaco) tampoco productos de origen animal. Somos veganos y no se permite el consumo de animales o sus derivados en el lugar.
Ofrecemos:
*Cama individual en habitación compartida (dos camas por habitación)
*Uso de cocina (gas, estufa y viveres para preparar tu comida)
-actualmente no tenemos a nadie que prepara tu comida así que pedimos que algunos días se cocina para todos o que se organicen entre quienes están ahí para hacerlo, se ofrecen viveres y algo de frutas y verduras para todos.
Estadía minima 1 mes

-Ayudarnos con la alimentación e hidratación de las personas no humanas

- hacer fotos y videos para redes sociales
- ayúdanos con pequeñas mejoras de espacios (DIY)
- ayúdanos en el jardín/siembra/areas verdes
- trabaja en ti mismo y disfrutar la diversidad de la vida

El alojamiento es en habitación compartida. Normalmente somos entre 3 y 4 humanos. Los cuartos son simples con dos camas individuales y un estante donde colocar tus cosas.

What else ...
We're still building and improving the space. There's a lot of contact with the land and nature. We truly live in a very simple, rural way, but full of love and tranquility. There's not much privacy. All amenities are outside the room.
You should bring a flashlight and something to protect your head from the sun, such as a cap or hat, and appropriate clothing and footwear for working in the fields and getting dirty.
There are many activities in town; we can share a cultural agenda.

Aun estamos construyendo y mejorando el espacio. Es mucho el contacto con la tierra y la naturaleza. Realmente vivimos de manera muy simple y rural pero lleno de amor y tranquilidad. No hay mucha privacidad. Todos los servicios están fuera de la habitación.
Debes traer contigo una lámpara de mano y algo con que cubrirte la cabeza del Sol, como gorra o sombrero y ropa y calzado apropiado para trabajar en el campo y ensuciarse.
Hay muchas actividades en el pueblo podemos compartir una agenda cultural.
