    Description

A simple life full of art in nature!

Couple of artists burned out and tired of the stress of " capitalistic crazy life" in the city, we bought a house with a big land in a small city to build a place of semi self-sufficiency, beauty, art and joy.

We plant and take care of our fruit trees, build our vegetables gardens and flower gardens. We learn permaculture and the land work in practic day by day. We are not interested in building a farm, just gardening enough to our needs and to share with the community. I'm very much into " loving and sharing economics ".

I am an artist and art therapist and Flo work remotely for a 3d animated film company.
We are flipping the house and a brand new art atelier: painting, woodwork and ceramics (with a new big electrical oven and all the goods!)

There's a cabin in the woods for guests, a beautiful view and accès to nature trakings, climbing, nature sports and lots of bike lanes through nature and small villages. The place is full of peace and we live a simple life in a different pace, no hustle.
I'm a spiritual person, and I discreetly work the energy and care for the living beings around me all the time.

We are from different nationalities: I am Brazilian and Flo is French. Our mixed cultures are a source of richness in our life's and relationships.
We have 2 cats and no kids.

There's a lot to do for only us 2, and I feel sad to not share this place. We would love to be around people interested in nature, permaculture gardens, ecology, art, literature, well-being, equality and fraternity ideals (liberté égalité fraternité !)

Our city is linked to bigger cities like Montpellier and Béziers by train and bus, and the tickets are extremely cheap.

We are 15min by bike from a river where we can swim, and an hour by car from the Mediterranean sea. The city have all the modern conforts, and a nice little artist community. Also lots of people working on organic farming and alternative projects for a different world.
It's a vacation place, with English, German, Swiss and Dutch communities.

We can share cultures and languages but I can also share my knowledge in art and a lot of different art techniques, and the space in the atelier can be shared with joy.

The person would have full privacy in a 30m2 wood cabin.
We can share the eletric bikes.

Only vegetarian food allowed. Eventually some fish. (You don't need to be vegetarian but you would not be permitted to bring meat to our land).

Also, no illegal drugs. (Lots of good wine around if you're into)
If our life projects speaks to you, come talk to us!

    Best regards,
    Camila and Flo

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Main thing to learn here is to live in the present, slow down! Also French culture and language, Brazilian culture and language, permaculture, gardening, tending to cats, vegetarian cooking, Art .

All kinds of associations in the city! Nature sports all around, wine culture also very much strong here, lots of small wine farms/producers. Occitan language and culture including a nice traditional occitan dancing scene.

  • Help

    Help

We need help with everyday needs on the house and the garden, depending on the season: trimming the grass, planting, watering, harvesting some trees... very basic garden stuff.

Also we need help with the house and the work we are doing : helping changing furniture from places, cleaning materials from small handy tasks, brooming... if you are skilled enough maybe paint a wall, install a shelf... it requires some level of strength and also some dexterity is very important.

Knowing how to use basic electric tools like screwdrivers and wood saws is ideal. I can teach you to do all that is needed. The more experienced you are in housegrooming husbandry the best.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

30m2 wood cabin not far from the main house. The cabin has 2 bedrooms, a dry toilet, shower and sink. Bedroom has a single bed for the moment. Shower is warm but not very hot. Kitchen space with sink, microwave, hot plate and small fridge. The cabin is thermoisolated. Heating can be provided as well as a windfan. 5g practically everywhere. Little finishes needed in the cabin: toilet and bathroom doors, some tiling, organizing... Your help will be very welcome to achieve it. The cabin has a key and it is very safe. The whole terrain is quite hidden from the main road. For the moment we will only have one person at a time. No parties. No receiving many people in without talking with us before.

A waterline toilet and a laundry are accessible in main house, as is the drinking water, 24h. The rest of the main house is only available when we are awake. Main kitchen and living room have cable internet, a big TV and space for online working if needed. A printer can be used if needed. You can take Hot shower inside too.

The house is in a hill. Walking around is not easy, but very much doable and an electric bike is possible to be used.

Meals : breakfast is ideally to be taken in the cabin. We are not morning people and we like some privacy before 10 am. Lunchtime is the main meal and I always cook or Have something prepared. Dinner is to be discussed. Help with cooking can be nice but not really necessary.
The house is messy and a bit dirty because all the flipping around, but tiding up after you is mandatory. Dishwasher do the dishes.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Down the hill (10 min by foot down and 15 up) there is a bus stop with lots of destinations around. There are small cute villages accessible by bus and also by bike. 25min walking there is a train station with trains to Béziers(30min) and millau (and other villages between). There is a bus to Montpellier (2h trip). The bus costs 2 euros and the train 1 euro. Once in Béziers you can take local trains to lots of cities: Narbonne, Agde, Sète, Montpellier, Nîmes, Marseille... all in a 2h trip that you can go and come back the same day for affordable prices. Barcelona is 2h by train. Toulouse too. Lots of cultural options in the city and neighbor ones. There is a good cinema in our city. Lots of nature sports and walk paths. Lots of walk paths! In the hills, in the woods, in wine yards.... we have a car and we do a lot of stuff. Sharing the car is yet to be discussed though.
We are kind of very extroverted and very introverted at the same time. We love to chat, party, play games and just share time together around a meal but we also need a lot of time alone, so we wont be on your back all the time. No smoking inside.
