Description
We are a research and education centre for sustainable agriculture, biology and nature tourism.
The reserve's off-grid location offers direct contact with virgin forests, water springs and waterfalls. Rainwater is harvested and supplied throughout the farm and the house is powered by solar and wind energy.
This family owned project, produces over 30 different varieties of fruits, vegetables and flowers, supplying food and water to thousands of people in the region.
Jose, the Project's Administrator, is a civil engineer with a master in urban water engineering. Worked on designing and building green infrastructure in Bogota for more than 5 years. Did the PDC in permaculture in Thailand and decided to start this project with his wife who is studying medicinal plants, crystals, and flowers for human welfare.
Permaculture Master Plan guides our sustainable productive models of crops of medicinal plant, native tuber, vegetable orchard, flowers, fruit forest, composting, worm farm and forest-pasture systems of animals. The projects that need help are the medicinal plant beds, the food forest, flower greenhouses, organic waste composting and the garden around the house.Types of help and learning opportunities

Farm within the nature reserve Barbas-Bremen, surrounded by nature, waterfalls, water springs, a variety of birds, native forest, ecological trails, organic crops. Typical house of the coffee region with more than 50 years in "bahareque" of wood and tile in mud, the stove works with wood, in the house lives a traditional local farmer family with which space, its customs, and culture are shared. It is an ideal place to disconnect from the city and meet nature and its essence.

Part of the experience is that the farm is off-grid. We harvest our own rainwater and produce electricity through solar and wind energy. This makes it a sustainable, exotic, different and special space. The nights will be unforgettable looking at the stars.
Workawayers will be required to stay in the camping area. Tent and blankets will be provided. There are dry toilets a shower and a hut in the camping area.
The house has a limited amount of rooms for the family that works there and tourists.
The house is inhabited by the family of farmers with whom you share the bathroom and the kitchen, this with wood and gas stove, dining room, stone laundry, table and chairs, hammock in the corridor, garden with swing and chairs outside. There are coffee and medicinal plants available to drink. It is a magical place to go back in time and live in the midst of simplicity, comfort, and nature.
We will provide the 3 meals and accommodation for 25 hours help a week. What else ...
We offer eco-touristic activities such as camping, hiking and birdwatching.
There are several touristic towns nearby called Salento and Filandia.
The farm is 4 km away by unpaved road from the highway that joins Armenia with Pereira. One way to get to the house is on a Willys or a contracted transport from Circasia, Salento or Filandía (Request us for contacts).
You can also get there on the bus from Armenia or Pereira to the restaurant Parador Los Robles del Quindío and then walk through an unpaved road 4 km (around 1 hour) to the house.
The owners of the project are constantly between the farm and Armenia and we can arrange to pick up or bring down to main towns.A little more information
