    Description

I live in Chewton, Central Victoria, know for its gold-mining , surrounded by bush. There are lots of walking tracks, wildlife and beautiful places to explore.

Castlemaine is only 5 km away, with cafés, markets, galleries, old buildings and a lively country atmosphere.

My home and garden are rustic and a little quirky, with winding paths, ponds, a fire pit and an outdoor bath. There are always projects happening, so there is plenty of opportunity to get creative.

I have a long interest in healing, nature, gardens and making things. I am happy to share some of the things I know, such as eco-printing, soap making, plant essences and balms.

I also have a shed where we can paint, sew, make crafts or try something new.

I live alone, and a mum and child rents the studio on the property. I am trying to create a gentle, creative and inspiring place where people can share skills, learn from each other and enjoy being close to nature.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I enjoy meeting people from different places and learning about their lives, cultures, food and different ways of seeing the world.

I am happy to share my knowledge and skills in gardening, journeying with plants, creative projects, cooking, eco-printing, soap making and natural products. I have also done some animal tanning.

I enjoy playing cards and board games, also conversations about healing, spirituality, nature, personal growth and memoir writing.

There are many local things to enjoy too - bush walks, Castlemaine, markets, cafés, galleries, theatre and local events. I am happy to explore some of these together when time allows.

I hope sharing a home will be a chance for good conversations, sharing skills, learning from each other and enjoying different ways of doing things.

I would also love to learn from you - new skills, recipes, ideas, stories and different ways of looking at life.

    Help

There are always things to do here!

The garden is an ongoing joy - clearing paths, weeding, pruning, planting and helping create new areas of beauty.

There are also plenty of tasks around an old home, such as painting, varnishing, cleaning, fixing and general repairs. I have tools that need handles refitted and sheds that need organising.

I also have a run-down old building that I would love to restore, and plans for a small extension to the house to create a bathroom and laundry.

There will also be opportunities to help with new creative projects, depending on your interests and skills.

Much of the work can be done together. I enjoy sharing what I know and learning from other people, so if you have skills or ideas of your own, I would love you to bring them.

I would love food to be shared and prepared together where possible.

I eat meat, but I am happy to eat different diets. If you have particular food preferences or enjoy cooking, I would be very happy for you to prepare some meals and share your food and recipes with me.
