Description
We are a young family of 5 living in the beautiful okanagan! We are looking for someone to join our family and help us day to day.
My parents (Alyssa) have been a successful workaway host for over 10 years! I have met SO many amazing people that I decided I would love to start hosting as well.
A little about us!
Curtis - 36. He is the hardest working guy and has quite the sense of humour. He’s a heavy equipment operator, tech nerd and book worm. He’s also big into the outdoors and would love to chat about it!
Alyssa (me!!) - 26. I am a farm kid at heart who loves to be busy. Right now I am on maternity leave and am lucky enough to volunteer for a local business here in the okanagan! I love to cook, bake and spend time with the family.
Rosalie - 9. Is my step daughter and she is with us 50% of the time. She’s a gentle soul who loves to talk. Also a big book worm!
Oaklan - 6. Is my step son and he is with us 50% of the time. He’s an exuberant guy who has all the facts to tell you about!! Loves cars, dinosaurs and the outdoors.
Everett - 7 months is our youngest. He’s at home with us full time
Clover is a 7 year old Jack Russell x Boston terrier! She loves going for walks (is working on her leash manners) and is a big cuddle buddy. She always sleeps with the kids and is a big part of our family.
We are looking for someone to primarily take care and spend time with Everett during the day while we work/volunteer and help with school pick up/drop offs on the weeks we have the older kids (a drivers licence is a must). We are in the most beautiful place near a park that you can enjoy and a short 15 minute drive from the lake and beach. We have a vehicle that you can possibly use and we are happy to work with you so you can explore. If you love photography or spending time outdoors, we are the best place for you! We also have a kayak and paddle board that you are more than welcome to use. On the weeks we leave to visit family, you can join us or spend the week to yourself exploring. They live in the most breathtaking mountain range on a hay/cattle ranch. A totally different experience but such great people. We are looking to move there in the next couple years and would be happy to take you with us haha!
If you love dogs, kids and spending time with kind people, we are your people! I’d love for you to cook or bake us your favourite dish and tell us all your stories. You will have your own bedroom/space. The rest of the house is shared.
Right now, we can only accept one work away at a time or a couple/friends who are willing to share a small room! Please reach out if you’d like to travel and explore the breathtaking Okanagan with a friend or partner. We are 100% inclusive and offer a safe place

We go to Church some weeks and are doing our best to meet new people! There are lots of fun groups/activities for you to do here. We all would love to learn a new language if you want to teach the basics. We really just want to meet some great people!

Help
We are looking for help with day to day stuff and childcare. It’s mostly Everett our 7 month old and school pick up/drop off for the older kids when they’re with us (50% of the time). We all do chores around the house and enjoy those we help with that , but I would say we’re pretty easy going! One of us will usually be home with you unless we take Ev with us
I enjoy cooking and baking and I’m happy to learn or teach! I’m sure there are lots of little things to learn with us and I know you’ll do great if you love being busy and enjoy the outdoors.
We would love to fill our tiny planter box and learn some new things! I have a sewing machine too that we can learn to use too!

Accommodation
We have a spare bedroom for you. It’s a single bed but clean! You will share a bathroom with the two older kids 50% of the time and the rest of the time it’s all yours. We are relatively clean eaters but enjoy making some treats! We keep the basics in the house (bread, pasta, milk, eggs, fruits, veggies). We cook all our meals and would love for you to help
What else ...
You can hike, go to the beach, spend all the time outside or even watch tv! Your free time is yours, but liking the outdoors is big here. We can help you get to and from or maybe let you use a vehicle. We are a clean and respectful house. Clean up after yourself and be kind, we offer the same in return! We don’t spend a lot of time on our phones and ask that you also be present with us and the kids. We are a non smoking family. This is non negotiable
