    Description

Two years ago we (Francesca and Tass) fell in love with a beautiful old stone "casale" in Tuscany and after years of just dreaming about it we are now moving the first steps towards the realization of our project: A place for communal living and exchange in harmony with nature.

We have a lot of ideas for future projects and activities which can be developed in the place, such as bread baking, pottery, having jam sessions or hosting occasional concerts, cultural events or workshops…

However at the moment our focus is more on renovation of the house and organization of the garden space.

You will spend some time in a beautifully isolated house in nature. Here you can see how people used to build houses in the old days. You can make bread or pizza in an original old pizza oven made of clay bricks.

You can go on hikes through the surrounding forests or take day trips to ancient medieval Tuscan villages in the area (Volterra, Querceto, etc.). Volterra in particular has an original art scene that you shouldn't miss!

… or go to the sea, which is half an hour away
or simply just take a little swim in the small river at the edge of our garden! ;)

In the evenings we occasionally have a little campfire and chat or play music or jam (there are some instruments there, bring yours too!;)

    Help

we are looking for people who are happy to help us with building and renovation tasks. Skills and experience are of course a plus but are not strictly necessary.
there are some things on the list, here are a few of them.

    - renovate old water cisterne
    - Renovate bathroom
    - plant trees and organise the garden space

Also we have a newborn baby, so if you’re good with kids and maybe even could imagine to be babysitting for a bit that would be also of great help!

Each day we will have a communal lunch and dinner, so help with preparing meals is also welcome !

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Accommodation is either in the house, there are 2 beds, but as said: the house is currently being renovated, so sleeping space is limited and there is an outdoor shower and compost toilets available around the house and no hot water (yet).

Alternatively you can sleep in tents or hammocks around the house in the garden.
We have some mattresses and two tents and sleeping bags that you can use but if you have your own, please bring them!

We will share lunch and dinner as a moment to get together, we will take turns to prepare the meals (mostly vegetarian) and share tasks in the kitchen.

    What else ...

The public transport to the house is a local bus from Cecina to the closest village Ponteginori.
From there it’s a 40 minutes walk to our place or we can arrange to pick you up

We dont have internet and phone signal is very weak around the house, mostly we need to walk like 10-15 min for calls
