    Description

We warmly invite you to join us from July 5th to July 16th and support us in organising a summer camp for children with fewer opportunities. Your help will make a meaningful difference for the kids and the whole camp experience.

Nestled in the beautiful Istrian Peninsula, our charity project is dedicated to supporting local communities in every way possible. We assist people in need, work on sustainable local initiatives, and strive to preserve the region’s rich natural and cultural heritage.

We have a volunteer center where we can host around 15 volunteers all year round. We are located in the village of Kastelec, 10 min drive by car from the coastal town of Koper.

Over the past ten years we have welcomed more than 1300 volunteers from 56 countries, fostering an inspiring atmosphere of cooperation, creativity and harmony between volunteers and the local communities. In recognition of our impact, we were honored as a finalist for the Salto Award 2021, ranking among the top five volunteering projects in Europe.

    Next volunteering opportunities:
    - 5.7-16.7.2026 (summer camp for children with fewer opportunities)
    - from 14.9. to 13.11.2026 (If you’re aged 18 to 30 and from Europe, you can join next group of volunteers through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program)

Our dream is to create a welcoming space also for long-term volunteers who want to join our efforts. However, at the moment, we lack the necessary facilities to host volunteers for longer than a few months. We have three beautiful old stone houses that could serve as accommodations, but their roofs are collapsing. We may have only a year to save them from ruin.
That’s why in 2026 we are especially looking for volunteers with renovation skills—to help us restore these houses and bring them back to life. Your skills and dedication could make a lasting impact, providing a home for future long-term volunteers who want to contribute to our meaningful work.

With a wide range of meaningful activities to take part in, this is your chance to make a difference. If you're ready to bring out the hero in you—come and join us!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We collaborate with local communities and NGOs across various Istrian villages, nurturing warm and genuine relationships with the local population. This deep connection allows our volunteers to experience the authentic essence of Istria—its people, nature, and traditions.

Our work is diverse, offering opportunities to develop a wide range of valuable skills, from basic construction to cooking. After work, volunteers are encouraged to share their talents, leading to frequent workshops, lively debates, movie nights, and other engaging activities.

Our work is really diverse. We help people in need, help local eco farmers, help locals with renovation of old houses, organise workshops for kids, help in an animal shelter, help local charities, participate at local cultural events, clean overgrown terraces and paths, organise clean-up actions and much more...To do all that we need many helping hands. We are searching for volunteers who have enthusiasm, motivation and will to learn new skills.

In our free time after lunch and in the evenings, we enjoy sharing knowledge, playing board games, walking on a slackline, swimming, and rock climbing—there are fantastic climbing sites nearby! We also play volleyball and basketball, read, watch movies, and have great conversations.

Our surroundings in Istria offer excellent opportunities for hiking, biking, and climbing, both in the mountainous inland and along the coast.

The Adriatic coast is nearby, with occasional bus connections to the coastal town of Koper.
