    Description

    Hello dear soul,

We are Maša, Tevž, and our daughter Anabel – a young family following the quiet calling to return to the land, slow down, and live in deeper harmony with the Earth.

A year ago, we found an old, abandoned farm in the hills of central Slovenia. Since then, we have been gently bringing it back to life – with our hands, our hearts, many unfinished projects, and a lot of faith. We like to feel that this place did not come to us by accident. It feels like a teacher, inviting us to remember a simpler, more present and more connected way of living.

This land rests at 770 meters above sea level, surrounded by forest, birdsong, wild herbs, open views, and the soft rhythm of the seasons. Here, nature is not only around us — it is part of our everyday life. The morning mist, the soil under our hands, the fire in the evening, the silence between the trees… all of it gently reminds us to listen more deeply.

We are slowly building a home that can support a simpler, more grounded life – a place where we grow food, care for the soil, listen to the silence, and raise our daughter close to nature’s wisdom. We are learning to trust the seasons, to live with less noise, and to let the land shape us as much as we shape it.

Life here is still very much in progress. Some days are beautiful, inspiring and full of light. Others are muddy and tiring. But this is also what makes the place alive. We are learning as we go – season by season, project by project, mistake by mistake. This journey is teaching us patience, humility, presence and trust.

Our daughter Anabel is a curious, playful and lively little girl. She loves being outside, exploring, creating, helping in her own way and meeting new people. Family life is a big part of our everyday rhythm, so we are especially happy to welcome people who genuinely enjoy children and feel comfortable around a young child.

We appreciate people who are kind, open, independent, curious and flexible. People who can enjoy simple living, nature, children, practical work, creativity, slow mornings, shared meals, quiet evenings, and honest conversations.

A little about our background: Maša’s path has always been connected with children, creativity, movement, play, emotional growth and meaningful human connection. Her background is in social pedagogy and preschool education, and she brings a lot of warmth, care and heart into our home.

Tevž is a creative soul, designer and media engineer. He grew up surrounded by art, design and family entrepreneurship, learning many practical skills along the way. He loves to create, repair, experiment, build and learn by doing – which is very useful on a farm that is slowly coming back to life.

Together, we are trying to create a life that feels more connected, creative, honest and close to the Earth – for ourselves, for Anabel, and for the people who cross our path.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Travellers will step into the heart of the Slovenian hills, experiencing life through the eyes of a young family reconnecting with the land. You’ll gain practical skills in gardening, building, and embracing simple, mindful living, all while being part of a journey toward sustainability.

Here, there is space for inner reflection, deep conversations, and shared rituals. Together, we’ll harvest herbs, prepare nourishing meals, bathe in the forest’s tranquility, or simply gaze at the stars. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Slovenian culture, traditions, and language, while also sharing your own stories, creative practices, and experiences.

It’s not just about work—it’s about meaningful exchange, where both sides grow, learn, and become more connected to the rhythms of nature and each other.

There is always something to tend to here — in the garden, around the house, on the land, and within the rhythm of family life. We welcome kind, open-hearted people who feel called to be part of this journey for a little while.

Depending on the season, the weather, our needs and your own gifts, you might share your time through:

    - spending gentle, present time with our daughter Anabel, playing, creating, reading, exploring outside and simply being part of her little world
    - gardening, planting seeds, watering, weeding, harvesting and caring for what is growing
    - small renovation projects, painting, cleaning or slowly bringing old spaces back to life
    - preparing firewood, moving materials or helping care for the land
    - cooking, preserving food, sharing recipes or preparing simple meals together
    - creative ideas, music, photography, storytelling, building, crafting or whatever you naturally bring with you

We believe in doing things with presence, not rush. Life here is not about ticking tasks off a list, but about listening to what the day, the land, the season and the family rhythm are asking for.

We are not looking for workers in the usual sense. We are inviting kindred spirits — people who want to live, create, learn and grow alongside us, even if only for a short chapter of the journey.
