    Description

We are a young couple working on an old farm in Bohinjska Bela, Slovenia, between Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj, right at the edge of Triglav National Park. Our days are divided between gardens, animals, soil work, and keeping the place in shape. Volunteers are welcome to join us in the everyday rhythm of the farm, share meals with us, and enjoy the surroundings of river, forest, and mountains.

    About Us

We’re Juš (28, engineer) and Kim (30, designer). A few years ago we took over a “sleeping” farm and set ourselves the task of bringing it back into steady use. With regenerative agriculture as our base, we adapt modern ideas to the reality of rough terrain and old infrastructure.

    So far, we have:
    • Established a garden and composting system
    • Introduced poultry and goats in rotational grazing (MOB grazing)
    • Planted perennials and reshaped parts of the land
    • Continued the slow renewal of old buildings and upkeep of forest areas as part of long-term care
    • Opened space for art projects, led by Kim, which we develop whenever time and season allow

The pace is steady, sometimes slow, but progress is constant. For us, farming is not just about food — it is about creating a place that combines work, creativity, and a way of living close to land.

    How You Can Help

We look for people ready to take part in daily work with reliability and energy. A good work ethic and a body prepared for physical activity and tools are important. Tasks include:

    • Garden work → sowing, planting, watering, weeding, harvesting
    • Animal care → feeding, fence moving, helping with daily goat and poultry rotations

Volunteers help only with everyday non-commercial farm tasks for household use. They are not involved in any activities connected to products for sale.
Volunteers do not take part in construction or renovation projects. Building restoration and structural work are done separately by us or professionals.

    Minimum stay:
    • 4 weeks or more → you’ll naturally be included in a wider range of projects
    • 2–4 weeks → you’ll focus on the routine work that keeps the farm moving

    What You’ll Experience

    • Hands-on practice in regenerative agriculture
    • Life between Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj, in a small village surrounded by forest, river, and the Julian Alps
    • Shared meals, cultural exchange, and quiet evenings in the valley
    • Occasional chances to join in a creative project if the farm schedule allows
    • A real picture of small-scale farming: sometimes hard, often rewarding, always instructive

For us, this is a livelihood and long-term commitment. For you, it can also be a kind of retreat — a break from routine, with time outdoors, meaningful work, and the rhythm of a place that is slowly being renewed. It is not a holiday in the usual sense, but many volunteers find it restorative.

We look forward to welcoming volunteers in this and following year who want to share in the work, learn with us, and discover life on a farm in one of the most beautiful valleys of Slovenia.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We live next to Bled lake, which is always full of new interesting people on the go. So it is amazing place for cultural exchange, exploring nature, live in the comfortable Slovenian wilderness.
Every day on our farm is a new story, so you can easily learn lots of new stuff. Gardening, wood making, alternative living, art projects, etc.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We provide main meal of the day for everybody. Things that we cultivate in the season are avaliable anytime for all meals (eggs, vegetables, fruits...). We provide staples for all meals. Breakfast and dinner is self organised since we respect different habits. For anything extra there is small store in the village and more options in Bled.

From our village, there's bus directly to Bled, Ljubljana every hour. So you can be in the capital in an hour. There's a lot to explore around us, we live just by the national park, between two lakes, there's a river 10min walk from the farm, rocks for climbing above us...
