As a professional business we welcome chefs, waiters or housekeepers and we pay proper wage. But please understand that we will ask you for your experiences, references, we might ask for a CV and also for an interview during the communication with you.

    About us:
Øivind And Mari-Ann is our names. We took over the Hotel December 2025. We left the busy city life to reconnect with nature and run a mountain hotel 950m above sea level in Jotunheimen. The family consist of øivind,Mari-Ann and our twin daughters Emma and Nora.
The remote location was exactly what we where dreaming of, learning about local history, rediscovering the fantastic History of the region and implementing it to the workawayers and guest thru our hospitality philosophy.
Our lives now is all about the hotel, our focus is our guest and the employees. Making a team work together and focus on the best customer service is rewarding. On such a small hotel as ours we are all depending on each other, so making a good team is our top priority.

    What can you expect?:
If you find this place interesting please contact us. We welcome employees who love to be in nature. If you are a city person it might not be the best location for you. We pay proper wage and follows Norwegian law when it comes to minimum wage. We will treat you with respect and listen to you. As we expect the same from you. You will be given proper training, we tell you about the history of the hotel, our food, our wines and local beers. A thorough training will be given so you can meet the guest with confident.

    Øivind & Mari-Ann

Staying here means becoming part of a small, close-knit team in the heart of Jotunheimen — one of Norway's most iconic mountain landscapes. As "kunstnerhotellet" (the artists' hotel), we have a long tradition of welcoming creative and curious people, and our team itself is genuinely international, so you'll be working and living alongside staff from a range of countries and backgrounds, not just Norwegians.

You'll get a firsthand look at how a historic Norwegian mountain hotel actually runs day to day — from hospitality and guest service to kitchen and food & beverage operations, using local ingredients and traditional Norwegian cooking and preservation methods. Depending on your role, you may also pick up practical skills in areas like facilities, housekeeping standards, or event support.

Beyond the work itself, you'll be living in one of Norway's classic mountain regions, with access to hiking trails, dramatic scenery, and the rhythms of rural Norwegian life — a very different pace from city living. You'll gain insight into Norwegian work culture and everyday customs, practice your English (and pick up some Norwegian) in a friendly multicultural environment, and leave with a genuine understanding of what it's like to live and work in a remote mountain community.

    Warm regards Øivind & Mari-Ann

To run the hotel efficiently we welcome Housekeepers, chefs and waiters.

-Housekeeping involves cleaning hotel rooms, we have 17 of them. Common areas, hallway, entrances also need daily cleaning.
    - Waiters/Chefs: We run a very popular restaurant in the area, we focus on local producers of animals with a high focus on animal welfare, we specialize in reindeer and goat. We have a capacity of 45 guests. The work includes serving/prepairing dinner for up to 45 guests.

Lots of activities possible, free ski rental, snow shoe rental, bicycle in summer. You have to be a nature and outdoor enthusiasts.
Some of the most popular hikes in Norway are accessible from the hotel. Knutshø, Bessegen, glittertind, bitihorn or just take a walk from the hotel and discover the untouched nature, old forest of pine tree, find some reindeer antlers in the forest (we will guide you in the correct direction) bring your tent and walk straight into the natural park and discover the silence.

Due to Norwegian laws and a lot of paper work for work permit, we can only take work awayers from European countries. We are a small team and like to mix the team with different persons. Requests from friends/ couples will always get rejected. Apply as a single person.
