Hi, my name is Karin and I'm from Switzerland.
I'm 28 years oldand grew up on a farm in a rural area.
Since a long time, I've been very interested in traveling and meeting new people, not just for a week-long holiday. I love immersing myself in different cultures, listening to stories from diverse backgrounds, and seeing the world from various perspectives.
Some of my interests include skiing, hiking, photography, mountain biking, DIY and creative activities in general, reading, baking, and lots of little hobbies that don’t get nearly enough attention. I like to relax in nature, preferably near water where I can cool off.
I also enjoy spending a cosy evening in good company, engaging in interesting conversations.
As I mostly travel alone, I’m good at taking responsibility for myself and also enjoy spending time on my own.
After finishing school in Switzerland, I first worked as a gardener for three years in Switzerland, and afterwards as a groom, farmhand and riding instructor at various riding stables .
However 2021 I packed up all my belongings and started traveling the world.
Over the last five years, I have travelled to various countries, met lots of new people and had many wonderful experiences along the way. As I enjoy travelling at a leisurely pace, I love using this platform to familiarise myself with the local culture and learn new things.
I have already done Workaway placements in Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Hungary, Canada, the USA, Mexico and El Salvador. During these placements, I was able to learn new skills and get to know new people on farms, in hotels or with host families. I have already done farm work, working with animals, woodwork, painting, property maintenance, gardening, housework, hotel and restaurant service, guest care, cleaning and much more in a wide variety of places.
What I enjoy most is working in nature and with animals or people. I like to be active and really enjoy learning new skills, which I pick up quickly – both in my free time and whilst working. -

In Switzerland I have completed two apprenticeships. I am a gardener and a horse specialist. I can work very well and I like to work physically and I am always ready to help with any work.
But I also enjoy working in the house. Through my experience in various catering businesses,
I also know the work in a kitchen or in the hotel industry.
I like to help where I can and where help is needed.
I am very team player and willing to learn. -

What else ...
Horses have fascinated me since I was young. I started riding at the age of ten, but I also loved being in the stable, helping with cleaning and feeding, and spending as much time as possible with horses.
Dancing is another passion of mine. I started traditional Swiss dancing even earlier than riding and continued until I was around 20 years old. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to restart dancing, but I am eager to learn other dance styles and improve my skills.
In my youth I once learned to play the guitar, so if it comes to a campfire, entertainment would be provided.
I like to try out new things and be spontaneous.
As longe as I have a good time I'm always happy. -

It is a beautifull cozy moutain hotel with a amazing nature around.
The comunication with Karola was from the beginning on verry easy and fast.
