My name is Armel Bonsergent, I’m 40, French, single, no children.
Workawayer for 10 yrs, I now want to make the rest of my life a journey exploring the world.
I love discovering nature, spiritual traditions, ways of life, philosophies, techniques, & knowledge that help live in harmony with nature and the wisdom of ancient civilizations.

WORKAWAY

Workaway host for 5 yrs with two buildings projects : family and friends.

WAY OF LIFE

I became a backpacker with the earth as my ground & the stars as my roof.
Easy-going, open-minded, traveling to learn, share and experience different ways of living. I value respect, exchange, curiosity and simple good times.
Mostly interested in history, monuments, culture, architecture, arts, nature, ecology, and sustainable lifestyles. I enjoy outdoor activities, walking, cycling, discovering heritage, landscapes, animals and local food.
I like creative activities such as photography, writing, drawing and music, as well as sometimes sports.
Trying to earn a living by writing projects and taking aerial drone photos.
Workaway is for me a great way to meet people, exchange skills and share meaningful moments of life together.

Me llamo Armel, soy francés, tengo 40 años y viajo solo.
Quiero viajar a Sudamérica como voluntario, conocer personas y compartir experiencias. Me gusta una vida simple, con respeto, intercambio y aprendizaje.

Tengo experiencia en trabajos de construcción y bricolaje. He trabajado en renovación de casas y pequeños proyectos, usando materiales naturales y locales. Puedo ayudar en reparaciones simples y mantenimiento.
Tengo mucha experiencia en trabajo agrícola y jardinería. He trabajado en huertas, huertos, horticultura, con muchas plantas, verduras y árboles. Sé trabajar la tierra, plantar, cuidar, regar, cosechar y mantener un jardín o un terreno. Me interesa mucho aprender más sobre permacultura, agricultura ecológica y formas de vida sostenibles.

I love animals, already worked a bit in farms, I have had a dog, everytime having cats and I want to learn how to take care of different other kind of animals.

Wonderful ! Where is the sixth star for them ? :p Lydia's family is absolutely adorable. This is honestly my best Workaway experience in over 10 years.
They are easy to connect with, providing clear detailed explanations to plan the stay, and completely honest in all they write and say. Plus, their place is splendid.
I was welcomed like family,… read more given the choice of having a room in the house—despite already hosting a couple of Workawayers—or a caravan for more privacy.

Lydia always has a contagious smile that brightens the days, and Alfonso’s smile and laugh warm the heart. They took really good care of me, helped me a lot with learning Spanish, and we had fascinating discussions about Spain, history, travels, and much more. They both cook such delicious food that I had to work a bit harder to exercise! ;) Alfonso prepares tasty and varied meals, while Lydia also cooks and makes divine desserts and pastries.
Their children, Luna, Gael, and Sergio, are charming, energetic, fun, smart, and really well-mannered.
I miss them all already and regret not being able to stay longer.

The house is spacious, has everything you could need. The garden is so nice : full of turkeys, chickens, roosters, geese, and peacocks of different rustic breeds.
There’s a meadow with two horses, a pony, goats, and Peppa Pig. They also have two lovely dogs and sometimes take in more they look after.
The ones I liked the most were the adorable little monster kittens : Scarf, the panther and Wendy, the cuddly one.

The work is varied, adaptable, and really interesting, and they let you organize your schedule. I worked on repairing the bottom of the pond to fill it with water for incoming baby fishes and cleared the area to create a pleasant spot for chilling and enjoying barbecues. I also tackled some weeds in the field with the brush cutter. When there was less sun, I painted wooden structures in the stable. There are many other different tasks to do.

I highly recommend this host to anyone, especially independent and proactive people with skills in tools, farming, vegetable gardening, or specific trades like plumbing. I really want them to keep transforming their place into a piece of paradise and to have even more time to raise their kids to be even more resourceful. You’ll be warmly welcomed and have nice times to enjoy the magnificent and interesting surroundings.

Dear family, I wasn’t joking : if I ever return to Spain, your home is the first place I’ll visit !
